  1. Looks like she got bit by one of those Last of Us zombies, but she's immune.
  2. I don't know that the recruit's family's ability to watch is as much of an argument as it used to be. Most high school seniors have millennials for parents, and that generation largely doesn't have cable tv, anyway. It would actually be less burdensome for them to have the games on something like Amazon Prime. It's still a big deal for the overall exposure for the school, though, since the rest of college football is on ESPN and Fox.
  3. I think the PAC should play hardball. Tell ESPN they can overpay for everything or get nothing and watch a whole lot of west coast households not need cable anymore. It probably doesn't work, but their conference probably ends up folding if they end up streaming most of their content, anyway.
  4. I'd say that the ACC's problem is mostly that they were stupid enough to lock in a tv contract for 20 years.
  5. I think having BYU actually makes Utah more valuable to the Big 12. At least BYU vs Utah is a game I'd probably watch if the game had actual stakes. Don't think I'd be as apt to tune in for a September matchup of Big 12 BYU vs Mountain West Utah. Not sure exactly what Colorado brings to the table, other than maybe replacing Kansas as the doormat.
  6. Utah's self worth might be over-inflated, but they are still twice as valuable as CU.
  7. Seems about right. Just needs Nikki Haley to come along and sweep the poop under the table with a broom.
  8. The republicans will have primary debates. Not like any smart people are going to be there to make them look bad.
  9. How often does Miami fill their stadium?
  10. I'm not sure if extra money will really do much to elevate the BYU football program. Their recruiting advantages and disadvantages mostly revolve around the Mormon church and will continue to do so. UCF seems like the program that could really elevate itself with more revenue.
  11. I'm sort of toying with the idea that he might be better than Brady, but he'd need to win the next 2 to get me there.
  12. If Mahomes wins a super bowl next year, I would be comfortable saying he's number 2 all time.
  13. Mahomes is just the 12th quarterback to win 2 or more super bowls, so I don't really think top 10 all time talk is all that outrageous. He's started 5 seasons and played in 5 AFC championship games. He's never had to play a road playoff game. He's been to 3 super bowls, winning 2. That's ridiculous.
  14. Sure do. But if you can get the whole theater to yourself, you don't need it. You actually CAN have your popcorn and eat it, too.
  15. I only go at odd times for shows that don't really need the big screen and surround sound, in hopes that I get the whole auditorium for me and my lady friend.
  16. I think they are doing both.
  17. The show definitely needed some sort of explanation for the significance of the green dress, but providing it as the dress was being revealed was lazy writing. Should have had a conversation an episode or two earlier talking about the different colors of flame and what they mean, sort of how Game of Thrones explained a whole lot of things with Jon Snow's conversations with the maester at the wall.
  18. I think it would have made more sense if the insects infected with cordyceps would have started attacking humans.
  19. Yeah, I also thought that was a pretty big plot hole.
  20. Kansas/KSU: Winner gets a bouquet of sunflowers and a big ass box of chocolate chip cookies, plus 20 gallons of milk. BYU/Baylor: If BYU wins, Baylor has to display a book of Mormon in a prominent location on campus. If Baylor wins, same thing but it's a regular bible and not King James version. KSU/ISU: Winner gets presented with 100 pounds of cornbread and two industrial sized tubs of butter. OSU/Tech: The loser has to supply all of the clowns at the winner's next school rodeo.
  21. Probably smart of the conference to try to help OSU as much as they can. That's a program that will get some benefit of the doubt from the national media, despite having a roster that looks like it could finish 14th in the conference.
  22. Expansion didn't make sense until Texas and OU were leaving. Why would you give up a true round robin for any two of the four teams that got added? If Texas and OU would have stayed, we would be getting ready to add Oregon and Washington.
  23. They have all of the resources to succeed, but it's entirely possible that Venables sucks and they end up taking a walk through the wilderness for a decade or two trying to find a coach to turn things back around.
  24. Yeah, I really don't see how the league could have been more accommodating, short of having different schools that made more money. The schools in the conference have done everything they possibly can to keep Texas happy.
