  1. I have been told that Austin's Seton Main is the go to spot for treating ambulatory Covid patients in the area. I know of two cases where this is to be true. One lady, unvaccinated, has been in ICU for awhile.
  2. I am no team Max or Lewis guy. It is fun watching these two race and that is what they were doing when the wreck happened. I get people saying enough wasn't done regarding Hamilton's penalty though. Both these guys are THE apex predators on the track and as others have said, they were bound to have something like this happen.
  3. Didn't get pulled over... but still Years ago moving a guy from Waco to Friendswood. We had 1/4 ounce of bud and a 12 pack of Bud for the trip. (Bad, I know. I was young and very dumb). Stuff was stacked high enough to where we couldn't see out of the back window. Anyways cruising through Downtown Houston, passing a bowl back and forth with beers open. I happen to glance into the side mirror and see a cop bird dogging my back bumper. As we are in the middle of cleaning up as quickly as we can, he lights them up. I figured I was about to spend sometime in jail. As I start to make the move to pull over, he comes flying around me and takes off down I45. As soon as he was out of sight... I pulled over to collect myself.
  4. I have heard about this too. My wife's brother-in-law is retired law enforcement from Florida -Jacksonville. One time AMW was on while he was flipping through channels and he told me this.
  5. I know of 1 person. 86 year old man that had been vaccinated. He spent over a week in the hospital before succumbing to the virus. Not sure of exact details of virus or vaccination.
  6. Backup warning signals - beep beep beep... I realize this is a good invention but right now they are building out a new neighborhood behind mine. 6 am... BEEP BEEP BEEP, MOTHERFUCKER!!
  7. No kidding... on the flip side, people send up their own "I am a dipshit and should be avoided at all costs" signals... Freaking scourge on downtown sidewalks...
  8. Saw him at the Astrodome in 1971.
  9. Yes, water restrictions... 2 days a week per city. However, I am of the mind set if I spend less time watering, the city should be grateful.
  10. My grandma was a 2 pack a day smoker and drank Dr Pepper like it was going out of style. She quit smoking cold turkey when she was in her mid 50's passed away at the age of 85. Dr. Pepper, however, was a mainstay in her pantry until she passed. I remember moving her and my grandpa out of their house and taking things off the wall and seeing what nicotine had done to the place. I dug me some Devil's lettuce in my time but seeing that deterred me from making smoking a part of my everyday life.
  11. I know of 2 people from Hays County that were admitted to Seton Main in Austin. Elderly gentlemen, who was vaccinated, passed away this last Friday. A woman, 60s or 70s, is in ICU. From what I understand, she was not vaccinated.
  12. Installed Rachio 3 this week. Easy to set up. I already have a rain skip day. I have set watering days but I am thinking about using Flex Daily to see if it saves money. The only thing I didn't like about the initial set up was I have a zone with sprinkler heads and tree drips and It would not let me select both. Basically, one head\drip type per zone. Have any of you Rachio users used the Lawn Champion products? Thoughts?
  13. 'You're killing me Smalls!' is a staple in my family.
  14. I don't want to kill you and you don't want to be dead...
  15. This is NOT related to the Clear Lake outbreak but it is a post vaccine case... I personally know an elderly man that is in the hospital with Covid and he is on a ventilator\ICU. He has been vaccinated but I haven't asked about a particular vaccine. He is being treated for a possible pulmonary embolism.
  16. Field of Dreams comes to mind for me too. It reminds my of my grandfather and how he introduced me to the game and played catch, flies and skinners, and how to hit a ball. When the movie come out within a couple of years of his death, I think I was one of several men having to take a little extra time to leave the theater. Dig all the mentions about the movies I've seen like SPR and Shawshank and Forrest Gump. I have mentioned it before - Godfather 2 - Michael embracing Fredo at Mama's funeral. 'Daaaaamn'
  17. Thanks for the leg work! I only mention it because my father was a mainstay at the place. He was either there or work or home, mostly there, until he passed away in '15. You mentioned Woodinville and my mind went straight to that place.
  18. Thanks, BrazilHorn! I appreciate the effort and the information put forth.
  19. Totally unrelated... is The Horseshoe still open in Woodinville?
  20. Gotta tip my hat to all of you sticking it out and still watching games.
  21. I like Dern but dang if I don't think or mutter something to the effect of "son of a bitch shot John Wayne in the back..." every time I see him. 🙂
  22. Douche. Don't stand in a chair you drunk Dead Poet Society yawp wannabee. Only thing that probably kept him from getting a foot in his ass is decent people around understanding others would get hurt if he got what he needed... a foot in the ass.
  23. Daughter and her husband did the simple baseball -bat and ball - thing. No one there except grandparents (his mom was via Facetime). It was short and to the point. My sister-in-law was the only one who knew the gender and she selected the correct ball. We were all surprised. I have a grandson on the way. On a side note, the folks that supplied the baseballs gave a ball them a ball with white chalk inside for practice purposes. They thought about trolling everyone with it saying that they were going to let the baby decide if it was a boy or girl.
