  1. Just saw that Dorance Armstrong is top 5 in the league in sacks. Likely wouldn't be a thing if he were in Dallas, but I always thought it was a mistake letting him go.
  2. EffnPuss isn't the worst DC of all time. He's a mediocre DC who is using a near obsolete philosophy of getting pressure on the qb without sending pressure with blitzes. He's the wrong guy for the wrong time. And the personnel isn't suited for what he wants to do, either. He is trying to shift to some degree, but he doesn't have what he needs to even do a half-assed job of it. It will probably improve a little bit, but it might be just from worst ever defense to something a little less shitty. It just ain't there. I don't think he will be back next season. They have to rethink that whole deal. But having a running game where you can still have success against a D-line like Carolina has would greatly increase their odds of controlling the game to some degree.
  3. Yeah, for those Cowboys fans screaming "why did we let him go?!?" It's not that suddenly he has transformed from an OK rotational back into a young Derek Henry. He's just stepped into a job where he has the Ron Jeremy of football, getting a check for going through gaping holes that are laid out for him. He's not even their starter. He was just the fluffer until Chuba got hurt.
  4. The cowboys could just fire the entire defensive staff and let the players do what the want and it would probably generate more turnovers, at least. Use that salary on the George Pickens contract extension fund.
  5. I would trade Milton for Rush in a heartbeat, when the OL is actually decent. If Milton ever has to play in a meaningful NFL game in meaningful time, defenses will make his head spin and he'll be a turnover machine.
  6. But yeah. Cooper was a terrible fit for the Ravens. He's about as opposite of Lamar as you can get. They ain't built for that shit.
  7. Virtually no defense in todays game can stop a team, unless it's a total shit team. You really can't play bend but don't break bullshit any more. It's all about pressure. You can be good against the run, but it don't mean shit if you are garbage against a bottom third qb and a few stick-em gloved fast guys. You get the qb, or the qb gets you. Fire DC Matt ElmerFudd. Bring in a modern football guy that understands.
  8. Frankly, though I'm in the minority, I'm sick of how increasingly easy it has become in the NFL to come back late, sometimes after big deficits. It has become basketball. It's so much about penalties or lack of penalties called at peak moments. Too much about 2-point conversions, that give teams an opportunity to make up for past failures. Too much about stickyass receiver gloves so you don't even need great hands to be a really productive receiver. You just need one meat-hook. Filed position and defending your end is virtually meaningless any more. Even the 60 yard field goals are routine. Maybe they should think about widening the hash marks again, or narrowing the goal posts. Big comebacks are fun. But they are too common. They were great because they were hard. It took a lot more grit and real skill and smart play. When it happened, it was really something. Now you pretty much expect it about five games a week in the NFL. Everything they do benefits the offense, even to the point where the laws of basic physics do not apply in NFL rules. Anyway, just an old fart pissing in the wind. But in this raised on video game world today, very few people really get it. It's a damn shame.
  9. Good thing trading for Kenny Clark fixed the Run defense.
  10. Carolina deserves this win. Dak and Pickens don't deserve this loss.
  11. Dowdle was signed for 2.75mil guaranteed. Him and Williams would have been a nice combo.
