  1. Good take. Money is likely the biggest issue. Even it's not Nansens pay rate, the support may not be there for that program. Then adding in that the NIL guys want someone else instead of Nansen... If you have them out things get tight. Maybe this is a play by the AD? "See guys, we tried. He wants to stick with his pay increase at Texas." Maybe it gets him some good will from both sides.
  2. I'm probably the biggest Sydir Mitchell fan, and he performed well when he played this year. However, we lost Sweat, Murphy and Trill Carter. I'm not dooming, but depth I would qualify is an issue. Especially when one of his issues last year was stamina and playing extended snaps. Do I expect his stamina to improve? Absolutely, but he's only one man.
  3. I could have stomached him leaving to be a HC. Upset but understanding. Losing him to the same DC position we just took him from would be frustrating to say the least.
  4. don't quote futureman, you'll get negs just for quoting him. dudes a troll and throws shit at the wall and doesn't pay up on his bets
  5. Did you make this? this is great. Ill credit you to let me tweet it from the surly account. Oh also, Blackshire is in Austin.
  6. In theory, we could process someone at any time, but spring ball would be the opportunity for coaches to see who/what position would be a weakness and process accordingly. You don't want to leave someone without being able to transfer.
  7. You dont have enough rep to troll like this. I respect the hustle though. Posters in this section are trigger happy
  8. I see your fairly new to the board. Welcome. The mantra regarding transfers/portal is, "don't worry about the numbers," the coaches are comfortable showing anyone the door if an immediate upgrade is available.
  9. I respect it, but personally I'd like to see what our current WR's can do, while also saving some juice for other needs. (DLine)
  10. With Fisch likely to take the Washington job, and us taking Nansen/Akina, are there any worthwhile DT's we could try to lure from Arizona?
  11. I have hated the Texans since I was a teen. When I went to see Peyton take them on in Houston Some random drunk slapped my ass walking by and tried to pick a fight. I was a fat and tall 14 year old but I've hated the fan base since then. Anyway Rod Wright is assistant Dline coach with them now. Makes sense we have to wait for them to lose to announce.
  12. Curious if "NFL guy," is a clever guise for Okam. Didn't he get fired twice in the NFL before going back to CFB with Toledo?
  13. You bring solid energy but don't you ever insult a National Lampoon movie like this again.
  14. Have any of the 995ers mentioned Staes again since Sanders declared or are we on cruise control till spring portal season?
  15. Not great, but I'm also trying to be optimistic. Just gotta wait for the D-Line coach before my pets head officially comes off. Really Likely Robinson as a prospect, but there will be others.
  16. I can't remember him being vocal about being under utilized, especially playing as much as he did as a Tree Freshman. That being said he's been very vocal about being supportive of the incoming Golden and Bond
  17. LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO Tweets from Pete Thamel: Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Bond has committed to Texas, which he told ESPN is a “business decision” in the wake of Nick Saban’s retirement. Bond led Alabama in receptions last season with 48 and said Saban’s retirement was “100-percent” the reason for his transfer. “Just like the business world, you make the best decision for your company,” Bond told ESPN in a phone interview Sunday. “My company right now is my draft stock. I feel like I’m putting myself in position to increase that and have better draft stock.” Bond said playing for Steve Sarkisian and with QB Quinn Ewers were main attractions. “One hundred percent,” he said of Ewers. "He’s a great big-time pocket passer quarterback. He’s a top pick in the draft next year. I’m also going to be a top pick. It’s going to be a good duo.”
  18. If we can overcome Caldwells academic issues, then we can overcome Muhammads. Just comes down on if he can be patient or not.
