I think this is a really interesting discussion right now. And I think maybe the traditional view/rankings needs updating.
Texas and Ohio State are still unassailable. Those are the best two jobs. Throw Georgia in there, too.
USC used to be a good job. Wtf is happening over there? It feels like they have deep-seated culture issues. Add to that the B10 travel nightmare.
Nebraska just extended an average coach until 2032.
Tennessee is still Tennessee. Also-ran purgatory.
Oklahoma seems like they are a bad hire away from a Nebraska-like future. Although I think because of their proximity to Texas they will always be pretty good and maybe surprise if they get the next hire right.
Miami still can't figure shit out.
FSU is an unmitigated trash fire.
Clemson is a disaster under Dabo but I suspect that they could be right back to national contention if they cut ties with him (they should) and find a good guy.
Oregon? Fucking show us. Please. We're waiting. Same with you, Penn State.
I THOUGHT LSU was a premier job but holy shit whatever they are doing down there right now is like a poorly blocked Dr. Strangelove community theatre performance.
I hear more and more about how Bama doesn't really have any money.
Florida is like a shittier version of Texas.
That out of the way, here are some takes that I'm not saying out loud but y'all can read.
(I think Notre Dame is a top 5 job)
(I think Michigan is a top 5 job)
(I think aggy is a really good job)
(I think SMU is a top 15 job - at least)
(I think Tech is a pretty sick job right now. Minus the Lubbock part)
(ASU is a really good job)
(I think if Iowa opens that's a really good job)
And I think there are a lot of broke-bitches that weren't mentioned that are going to find themselves longingly starting into the mirror with a firearm in one hand.
All that said, what do y'all think the current top 5 or top 10 is?
Let's say my top 5 is Texas, tOSU, Jawja, Michigan, Domer. Not sure I agree with it but I'll float that out there.
