  1. What the fuck does this have to do with the question? It's who was the most popular act.
  2. The Beatles - no contest. Michael Jackson made the best music, however.
  3. I take pride in my work. Something you wouldn't know about.
  4. When that came out I was still in high school. I found it on Netflix or wherever had it first and watched it 3 times in 2 days. Still one of my favorite movies. Hard to pick a scene, this might be my favorite though.
  5. Some of us have real jobs. Not me, but some of us.
  6. I'm glad that as a society we've come to treat gay marriage and adoption as commonplace.
  7. "Give me 5 bees for a Zephyr ride!" you'd say.
  8. This is an interesting way of saying we lost 3 of the best 4 players from an elite eight team, returned a 3rd year guy that Beard recruited that we still can't get consistent minutes from, a six-year role-guy that has no shot of playing in the NBA, Mitchell and Disu. And who gives a fuck who can play in the league or not? That has very little to do with who the best college players are in 2024. I think this team is a bit better talent-wise than the '21 team but they both pale in comparison to last year's squad.
  9. Yeah I thought this team could be a little better than they have been so far, but if you told me that Hunter is going to be the same player, Mitchell won't improve his shooting at all and that Abmas is smaller than I think and bad on D the results so far seem about right.

  11. Their best player also has zero playoff experience. They've been an impressive regular season team but barring some weird injury shit I'd frankly be shocked if they made the Finals. I like you guys a lot better and I obviously like Denver better. Even LAC and PHO I can squint and see a bit more easily.
  12. Yeah I was wondering what the timeline was there.
  13. I assumed Hunter and Mitchell would both be better. Neither of them developed much at all. I also thought guys like Horton and Shedrick would be better. It happens. (Season isn't over yet, btw)
  14. I thought that was interesting as well. Here are the odds they pulled. Maybe they didn't think they'd give Gibson a best picture? Someone like @henrygandorf may know more.
  15. I don't disagree with you, but it isn't going to win. The gulf in those odds is just way too high. Oppenheimer is also relevant right now and would be relevant no matter when it was released. The 2nd leading nuclear power in the world has been involved in a land war on their border for years now. We are currently testing the waters of AI and quantum computing that is basically the new A-bomb and may create a similar demarcation in world history. I think Nolan is too accomplished and Oppenheimer is too good for it to not win. They LOVE any excuse to give someone like that their first win, and they don't need an excuse. He has 5 noms and 0 wins and is on a very short list of most important directors of the 21st century.
  16. That thing is ugly as fuck. Est. Completion - June, 2032
  17. Vegas doesn't think so. Since '74 Braveheart was the biggest upset ever at +600, and it looks like Oppenheimer is the largest favorite ever. https://www.sportsoddshistory.com/other/academy-awards-odds/ Zone of Interest is at +2500 right now.
  18. You think they're going to vote for a Holocaust movie to make an anti-Israel statement? You think Hollywood is going to do that?
  19. Trying to squeeze in a few more before the awards - watched Oppenheimer again yesterday afternoon with my mom who hadn't seen it. There's virtually nothing to criticize about it. It's some of the most flawless 180 minutes anyone's ever put on screen. The acting is just fucking ridiculous - like Godfather/Goodfellas/Shawshank level. Murphy and Downey Jr. both got noms and I'm not sure Damon wasn't better than both of them. Blunt is a powerhouse. I think it takes home 6 or 7 on Sunday. I mean these odds are absolutely insane. I've never seen anything favored like this.
  20. Really? Okra and tomatoes get along very well together.
  21. Don's in Austin gets a B+ from me today (maybe even a soft A-). I usually go to the Oak Hill location as I work nearby but they have a location at Oltorf and 35 as well. $13.59 brisket plate - two sides and a drink. I've had pretty damn good BBQ from here and I have had painfully average BBQ from here. Brisket was on point today - also they have fried okra as you can see. Really nice folks, they do great Mexican breakfast (tacos, guisada, barbacoa, migas) and do a good cheeseburger, too.
  22. The PS5 controller is much more similar to the Xbox now than it was with say the PS3 or PS2. I mean you can just HDMI your laptop and run a controller on it.
  23. This is dumb. My best friend would never in a billion fucking years lie to be about my girl cheating.
