I doubt we get this level of maturity ever again from a Star Wars project. I have friends that like Star Wars and what Andor has done but fall in the line of thinking that the franchise isn’t meant to be this mature. The farthest they think the franchise should go is on the level of R1.

Someone jokingly said Syril taking a mini nap in the middle of dinner with his mother and Dedra was foreshadowing his eventual death. And to think, Soller, the actor who plays Syril, completely improvised the mini nap on set.

He would be perfect for a knights of the old republic tv series or movie.

Obviously it didn’t land with most Star Wars fans but it never mattered because midichlorians were never meant to be the force but rather explain how someone can use the force. I get where George was coming from but he was ultimately reaching for something that didn’t need to be explained any further.

I mean it would be dumb to even entertain midichlorians since the empire has destroyed any resemblance of the Jedi order. The average person wondering the galaxy pre-empire probably never fully understood what the Jedi were all about. Combine that with what the empire did to the Jedi and you get what Han says in ANH.

Next week might be the Luthen show. Feels like everyone has gotten their moment while Luthen has been acting as the conductor. It’s time for him to turn to the crowd and take a bow. Edit: what mdmost said.

Well, it wasn’t the Ghorman massacre with Tarkin but episode 8 was a slam dunk. Just brutal all the way around. Episode 9 was masterfully written and kept me on the edge of my seat even though there was less action. Mothma’s speech! This 3 episode arc is going to go down as some of the best Star Wars and Gilroy has definitely elevated this show to fuckin top.

Kind wish they’d release 7-9 on Tuesday then 10-12 the following Saturday at an earlier time. That way we can nerd out all day and be able to watch R1 immediately after.

We’re halfway through and the show has exceeded expectations so far. Feels like every conversation as we go along has a crescendoing weight to them, and ultimately depressing knowing most are going to die. The convos in episode 6 between Vel and Cinta are a good example. They’ve been eyeing each other for most of the time and when they finally get a chance to talk, we get a glimpse of their relationship and the impacts the rebellion has on it. Then boom. Cinta dies a death that shouldn’t have ever happened if they would have been working with rebels that followed the rules. Her chewing out Samm was so damn good. Gilroy is doing an excellent job at making me feel for characters that I know are going to die. I’m not having a good time in that aspect of the show.

95% of the conversations taking place at the wedding have important meaning behind them, advancing the story and characters. Mothma getting essentially held hostage by her childhood best friend because her clandestine efforts are hurting his own investments. Or Luthen basically telling Mothma he’s going to eliminate her childhood best friend, and mocking her because she doesn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation. Watching a bunch of dudes play rock paper scissors was more boring than any conversation at the wedding.
