I split hairs with you on Notre Dame, but you need a guy at Freeman’s level to recruit nationally.
Michigan’s best players usually come from Detroit or Ohio. They have to knock heads with fOSU in both areas. Penn State pretty much has all of Pennsylvania to themselves plus easy proximity to the DMV and Jersey.
Another gem:
- They just contradict their own statements over and over again. They really need a producer or some kind of editing. “OU gave this game away.” A few minutes later, “Arch beat us.” “This is the best team Venables has had, and the worst team that Sark has had.” What the actual fuck? They forget about the 2021 team?
Forneilli thinks Franklin will have his pick of jobs. Specifically mentioned UF and LSU.
I just don’t see it. He has a very long history of being incapable of winning big games. Any school that hires Franklin is accepting they won’t a win a national championship.
I wonder if they want that one back? They ran the Northeast and DMV in recruiting for decades.
I think Penn State is the second best recruiting job in the north.
So let’s say Venables pushes the restart button again after the season. That’s 2 offensive reboots since 2022.
Even to the unbiased observer, that’s not good. I’m starting to believe the Nagy bullshit extended Venables at least 2 more seasons.
The Sooners Illustrated honks never once even suggested that Venables was in trouble.
I’m here for it.
Some top notch Sooner tears in here:
Some highlights:
- Bitched and cried about the clock management at the end of first half for a solid 30 minutes.
- Fans are blaming one of their reporters for leaking practice reports which forced OU to have limited practices indoors for secrecy. Top notch psychopaths north of the Red River.
- They think Arbuckle is a future NFL HC and Mateer is a NFL starter. I was just stunned when they said this aloud.
- Wisely didn’t bitch about the punt return. They did after all beat Auburn via an illegal play.
- They want everybody gone on offense except for Arbuckle. Revoking Bedenbaugh and Murray’s lifetime appointments would be hilarious.
- The Ott playing time mystery continues. All they’ll say is he isn’t practicing up to Skeletor’s standards.
- Genuinely apocalyptic about the season. They all think they’ll lose to South Carolina next week.
I enjoyed it. Candy was a wonderful, generous funny man.
That said cocaine was never mentioned once in the documentary while they acknowledged alcohol abuse and chain smoking.
I didn’t love the blame Hollywood for everything schtick either. If he just wanted to stay home with the kids, he had enough money to do that. I think he enjoyed the action.
$56 million buyout. They could probably swing it, but it would sting.
That said, if the Big Ten takes the dirty Saudi money, mid 8 figures really doesn’t matter anymore.
