  1. And he is Stroud’s carpool partner, and is an old soul. He might be a coach after his playing career. He might be the most emotionally stable, loyal man in the entire world.
  2. I was pulling for Novak to not pull that putt on 18. Here we go playoff.
  3. That bullseye is cool. My son’s recteq 590 sat covered on his back porch in NC while he was deployed to Poland and to Kuwait and when he moved to Colorado Springs his auger/motor was clogged and shit the bed. One call to customer service, and they’re sending him all new components at no charge. And now recteq is going retail; my locally-owned ace hardware boutique (M &D) recently started stocking the whole line, including accessories. So I got to see the bullseye up close. Last weekend I ordered custom patio furniture from the outfit (Balboa co) that installed fireplaces for my dad and grandfather’s home building business for 50 years, and he has the full line of Yoders. I don’t know if I’m ever going to spend 3k on a pellet grill, but they are so nice. I’m about to go outside and prep my 590 to smoke a beef tenderloin for tomorrow.
  4. Do you go to Avalon?
  5. Well, I think you’re wrong. Steamed crawfish is a near religious experience for people who actually want to taste that sweet tender meat. The key is resting them for 20 minutes and tossing the cooler every 5 minutes.
  6. A tributary of the Calcasieu River, Moss Bluff, LA. Boudreaux central. The kid with the gar and mullet is who I want to be when I grow up. Pure country joy. Has his own pony and cows to herd and a daddy who rodeos. Killed his first gator at 4. No shit, his government name is Bear Fontenot. To break down the crawfish recipe, it’s steamed crawfish bathed in equal parts vinegar and lemon juice, a quart of minced garlic, a lb of butter, and a little swamp dust. There is maybe 2 inches of water in the pot to cook that whole basket. We did 93 lbs.
  7. Sat in QBRs in Bethesda today and one of the directors caught me laughing to myself and asked if I had something to add. I said “no, not out loud.” What I should have said was “everybody chill. We’re in a particularly nasty iteration of the simulation, and no amount of stress can reverse the systemic breakage occurring right now.” One of the VPs actually has a practice around how to profit from DOGE destruction. I can’t wait to see that deck. Still, after spending my first week scrambling around the beltway I’m spent. And I get to do it again next week.
  8. And a bunch of mid century modern houses nestled next to tiny greens.
  9. Plus rechecking the Schwab statements for gain and losses and remembering “why the hell did I take stonk advice from surly?” trades.
  10. An old one, and probably a 1099,, but I think it’s appropriate.
  11. The only thing I read on X is Michael Kim. https://x.com/mike_kim714/status/1911553169483530450?s=46
  12. You know some CBS guy in the trailer would love to put “Rich old white guy” under Fred Ridley’s name.
  13. I knew he was gonna miss it.
  14. I think he’s just dazed and confused.
  15. Except his wife’s family, because he hasn’t spoken to his own in over a decade.
  16. I would commit involuntary manslaughter 9/10 times on 18.
  17. Who is Sergio? Oh wait, isn’t that the guy who used to play golf on TV?
  18. An hour ago I was mansplaining Rors to my wife. She even said “is that the guy who chokes?” I told her “well, usually. But he didn’t at the Players this year, so maybe those days are behind him.” I’m gonna have to tell her she’s right.
  19. Where are you?
  20. Maybe if I drop my club on the follow through I’ll get results like Rory. Mr. Wizard’s golf swing is just plane (sic) ugly compared to all the others.
  21. And I’m going to tell the Masters team off when I see them next month in Boston. Stop making stupid commercials. You have the Masters and Wimbledon. Hire whatever agency Rolex and Mercedes are using and STFU.
