  1. working in shifts (redacting the files)
  2. Ran across this in my IG feed. Aren’t they supposed to be fixing flood warnings?
  3. My read of it too. I thought he said that he signed up to take advantage of the enlistment bonus and fast track to his whole family getting citizenship. He listened to the recruiter's promises and fell hook line and sinker.
  4. I’d want it to be something I could wear to work on someone’s house or yard without being offensive. Tongue in cheek is great but tongue in asshole is not. Maybe something like: We’re from the internet and here to help. or maybe a play on the What starts here slogan with a twist
  5. I'm sure the CC companies, Apple Pay, etc. are doing that in the the background but giving that type of data to Google, Amazon or Grok could lead to some interesting targeted marketing.
  6. Bought a new chainsaw blade and packing my truck today. 2 hour drive in the morning. Anyone else going? TxEx84, said he was but we'll have to meet there.
  7. Picked him up at the hospital with burns after he lit his single hit pipe.
  8. There is a lot of work to clean up at Sandy Creek in NW Travis County near Leander. If you’re in the Austin area and want to help get with Austin Disaster Relief Network. They don’t have enough people to move sort and haul stuff. https://www.givepulse.com/group/399764-Austin-Disaster-Relief-Network Sign up, drive up to the Round Mountain church (Leander) and park, get a job assignment and work.
  9. That white dress presenter for Ovechkin. smokin Brooks Nader
  10. I’ve seen notices that Canyon Lake was going to have several out of state teams working ther this week
  11. Just make your point if you have one. I'm sure you've done your own research and know all the conspiracy theories about why she was prosecuted for certain crimes and all the outrage that goes along with it but it still stands that Side B has a conviction on their ledger and Side A only has coverups.
  12. Side B put Ghislaine Maxwell on trial, convicted her and sentenced her to 20 years. Side A had Epstein die in custody.
  13. Side A: Conspiracy, Cabal, Prosecute the pedophiles, if we were in power we'd do something. If you vote us in we'll release the names!!!! Side B: In power and letting the justice system take its course. Side A: We're in power now, all that stuff we said we would release, it's a nothing burger move on. BB - See it's Side B's fault for not doing something.
  14. Wow, I can't believe there are people (a person) arguing against getting out of the floodplain to higher ground when a flood is coming.
  15. Thanks! If anyone else is going let us know. If anyone in N Austin wants to carpool let me know.
  16. Think of it like Uncle Henry, Hunk, Zeke, Hickory and Aunt ‘Em all getting in the shelter but the girl goes chasing a dog so she gets flung around. Without the mitigation mechanism (shelter) they’re all in a shitstorm but with the shelter or warning siren some people will do the appropriate things. Don’t think of it as an all or nothing but as an effective means to reduce loss of life. We see it with Hurricanes too. Warn people to evacuate and the reasonable ones will. You can’t stop saving the majority of people because of the few who aren’t going to listen.
  17. I've owned a bit of stock in the largest US Copper Mining company for a while. Just a commodity play. But the second largest mine in the US is owned by an international firm. Does that count as US Copper too? I guess it's like US Steel owned by Japan.
  18. Is there any other kind?
  19. Cross posting this cleanup opportunity: Center Point cleanup details. Center point is a smaller town on the east end of Kerr county and several people have told me they are not getting as much help as other places. The volunteer process is to check in at the VFD at 8:00 am and they send teams out starting at 8:30-9:00. I plan to be there Saturday and if I can handle it on Sunday too. 548 W Kelly St, Center Point, TX They have a Facebook page where they post some updates like closing down work when the weather got bad yesterday. Check it for updates before you go. Go prepared with PPE including masks, protective footwear, leather gloves and bug spray. Light medical like bandages and antibiotic ointment. Food and lots of water Tools - From my experience wheel barrows, flat shovels, box knives and blades, crow bars, hammers, and screw drivers are the basics. Edit: Also a change of clothes so you can change before you drive home.
