  1. He's great at defense, but he's also great at offense. Lol never change, Liucci
  2. It's shit like this that makes the Dabo and Ryan Day rumors all the more absurd. Yes, we totally fucked up a couple of second tier hires in Stoops and Fisch, lets now pivot to those guys. Come on.
  3. A couple of thoughts here as someone who lives in Europe. Everyone smokes. Portion sizes are smaller, they consume less meat, and you walk a lot more. I figured all that before I came over. The surprising one to me is that fresh produce goes bad in like 2 days max. I could keep some grapes or salad in the fridge for 5 days at least in the States. Here, we basically grocery shop for what we're going to eat that day or the next day because it goes bad so fast. Less processed snacks as well.
  4. Side Show Bert is turning into Main Event Bert.
  5. Sark has his faults as a coach, but he's such a likable, genuine guy. To get fired for public intoxication to where he is now is so very impressive.
  6. He also was pretty damn condescending to others who told him the Longhorns' place wasn't secured yet. Wonder if those tweets have been deleted.
  7. Traylor get that neck checked out bro. It can't be good that it looks like dinosaur skin.
  8. You can fire me for $75M in whatever manner you choose. I'm open to pretty much everything.
  9. They better have a plan because their recruiting class and roster is about to get picked over.
  10. This is certainly an infuriating team to watch, but the bottom line is that we're going to improve our record from last year by at least two games. Last year, we improved by three games. The positive trajectory is there, continuity has been huge for us, and while its not perfect, we're 9-1.
  11. What better way to ride off into the sunset with tens of millions of dollars in guaranteed money from Texas A&M?
  12. That's the thing with Trump - how much of it is dementia, and how much of it is him a being fucking moron? The man has the intellectual range of a teaspoon.
  13. You could accuse Charlie of a lot of things, but being a good program builder was never one of them lol
  14. Should Sark hire someone to call plays and still consult a bunch with the offense and maybe coach QBs? He's been a really fantastic program builder even though his value was initially thought to be as a playcaller. I wonder whether he's stretching himself too thin at times and not being as effective as he could be on game day with the offense.
  15. Never met Emmanuel, but per several people who played with both, Sam was universally beloved and you liked or hated Emmanuel. In retrospect, that seems pretty accurate. He was a solid to good player here who overachieved his recruiting ranking and has built an incredible brand despite being a relative no name in college and the pros.

    London

Its usually at a pub called the Swan, which is a really great venue. For bigger games like OU, they go to a larger space (can't reember the name of the bar this year - I've tried to block out that whole night). Tonight its at Passyunk Nine Elms. If you're local to London, there's a WhatsApp group that is pretty active with events and meetups.

    London

Just popping in this thread to say that if any of ya'll are around here during football season, the Texas Exes watch parties are pretty fun and worth stopping by. There's a very solid group of UT alums in London.
  18. One of the more infuriating parts to the conservative reactions to these mass shootings is "we don't want to politicize this tragedy", which is utter malarky of the highest order. The truth of the situation is that these deaths are acceptable to them. The gun violence, school shootings, etc. represent an acceptable level of death so that they can keep their assault weapons. So spare us the thoughts and prayers - you've crunched the numbers of this and decided that you're OK with an Uvalde every now and then. Republicans do a lot of disingenuous gaslighting, but their stance on guns is maybe the worst. If they spent an ounce of the time they waste on keeping certain books out of schools, we'd cut gun violence in half.
  19. The fact that all the $9.95ers are totally silent as to the reason is pretty telling that this was severe, IMO
  20. Good grief. Some hard-hitting journalism right here
  21. Not really. Our tax code is complicated because we administer an income tax system with graduated rates. What is and isn't "income" and when you should be taxed on it isn't straightforward at all. People often say they want a flat tax on all consumption items, but the issue there is that poor and middle income folks get screwed because they spend a larger portion of their income and don't save as much. The more "fair" you make the tax code, the more complicated it becomes as a result. Congress of course doesn't help matters by passing absurd laws that are broad and then relying on an understaffed IRS to fill in the blanks. The loopholes Congress writes in for lobbying interests - and there are many - are also awful.
  22. The IRS could do your taxes for you and then send you a completed return for you to sign off on or supplement as you think is necessary. For the vast majority of Americans, they have all of your info - when you get a W-2, 1099, etc., the issuer has to send a copy to the IRS as well. This has been proposed many times, only to be shut down by Intuit lobby.

    Fuck Big 12 refs

In addition to being incompetent and biased, they also trample all over the game. The difference in the game tempo between them and the SEC refs last week was night and day. It seems like they insert themselves at every opportunity and several times blew the whistle for no discernable reason.
  24. I'd forgotten how many good players were on that team with KD. Man we underachieved.
