  1. Just add bye to the pile. While Morton hasn't been stellar this season, he was mostly competent. I do think it likely effected his mindset (probably dwelled on the game for too long or just got rusty, which would be on McGuire), shoving him from pedestrian to flat out bad and having the absolute worst game I'veseen. And, that O-line looked vulnerable against even the weaker Big 12 opponents. All credit to Miami, though. They kicked their asses on D. Btw, I don't get the comment above bagging on Fantana or Slorch, though. Neither one of them seemed to exude some "newfound confidence," as if they were cocky shit-talkers all season. Both of them have been quite vocal about their doubts about Morton (this isn't directed at you but didn't want to make a separate post). Every team has their embarrassing idiot online fans (looking at Greenspoint and Helobious as obvious examples), but I think we Tech fans are pretty subdued and well-behaved here on Surly, for the most part, unless folks just start making ahit up, as if a lie can be conjured into reality. Oh, and yeah, I'm a Longhorn, too.
  2. Speaking from experience, broken ankles are no bueno. Got a titanium rod, a small plate, and about 13 screws in my mine to show for it. That leg is about half an inch shorter than it used to be. I couldn't put any weight on it for 8 weeks (right ankle, so couldn't even drive) and had to wear a boot for about 4 months.
  3. I think it's okay to call the game.
  4. A night of sploshing will do that.
  5. BOM!!! BOM!!! BOM!!! [tick tock tick tock tick tock]
  6. Fifita & Co. were really fun to watch last year in those late-night games. Not sure what happened, but I haven't caught many of their games this season.
  7. If you'd like to know more, I first learned the term from HBO's Real Sex. Start at 37:00. Very NSFW, obviously. https://archive.org/details/real-sex-24-different-strokes-dirty-words-footsies
  8. I believe that's called "sploshing"
  9. Hahaha Commentators discussing TXST QB: "It's good to be compared to Johnny Manziel on the field..."

  11. Fuck you, Kirby. Fuck you!
  12. Damn! A third time.
  13. Two plays in a row. Wow.
  14. Pretty sure Brian Fantana, Slorch, and I have all voiced concerns about Morton this season. Slorch was pretty adamant, going back to late September, that Tech wasn’t going anywhere with him at QB. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the O-line was pretty suspect as well. On top of that, the playcalling was pretty bland all season for a Tech team. I did like how they ran the ball much better than before, but that part of the offense certainly fell apart today. So, yeah, the offense was underwhelming despite the point differentials in all their wins, which we can safely now say was due to the stellar defense keeping everyone else out of the endzone. Oh, and Tech was terrible in the red zone this year. Weird problem for a Tech team to have, and they've got their work cut out for them during the offseason to make some changes on that side.
  15. I wonder if she can be found on r/clowngirls
  16. I'm not sure Rice would even make it to the Texas high school playoffs.
  17. To avoid the embarrassing shut-out, I assume.
  18. I mean, the Bible is pretty clear that such public displays of piety like those players/coaches isn't how Christians should act. You would think Christians would be familiar with their own holy scripture. Matthew 6:5-8 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
  19. I was looking but just burst out with a hearty laugh when he said, "My name is Kevin Marr."
