  1. Lots of good or interesting QBs in that league this year
  2. Holy shit, look at the home and away splits Also, against lefties he's actually an average major league hitter this year (wRC+ of 99) https://www.fangraphs.com/players/martin-maldonado/6887/splits?position=C&season=2023
  3. These guys have the best conference previews https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sec-football-preview-2023-picks-and-predictions-win/id927810876?i=1000622184110

    Florida Gators

Bud Elliott talked about Florida's OL depth issues on yesterday's Cover 3 pod. He has a pretty good understanding of most schools, but doesn't always nail everything down 100% like someone who actually follows the specific team would be able to do, so take it with a small grain of salt - Lost several contributors to the portal in the offseason- Braun to Arkansas, Tarquin to USC to be their starting LT, and White to USC. -Kam Waites tears his Achilles - Mazzccua transfers in from Baylor has a shoulder injury and is up in the air for the season - Kiyaunta Goodwin, the former 5* OL transfer from Kentucky who was expected to start, is no longer with the team and is attempting to get a waiver to play right away elsewhere
  5. All four picked Texas overs at 9.5 https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/big-12-win-totals-part-1-texas-oklahoma-and-which/id1257913963?i=1000622178257
  6. One guy's best Big XII bet is Texas overs 9.5 at -110, and the other guy's best Big XII bet is Texas to win the conference at +125
  7. Strong had an impressively bad number of disasters. I have trouble picking the ten worst. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2014-09-06-texas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2014-09-13-texas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2014-10-25-kansas-state.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2014-11-27-texas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2014-12-29-texas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2015-09-05-notre-dame.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2015-10-03-texas-christian.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/iowa-state/2015.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2015-11-14-west-virginia.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2016-11-19-kansas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2016-11-25-texas.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2016-10-01-oklahoma-state.html An under the radar favorite bad performance was the shutout loss to Iowa Steak the week they fired Mangino as OC
  8. Mack was recruiting a Texas State level class. It would have been a similar level of fucked up, just in a different way
  9. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/big-xii-football-preview-2023-picks-and-predictions/id927810876?i=1000619407007
  10. He writes for the Athletic. He’s and Daniel Jeremiah are probably the best of the major site/channel draft guys, and Dane is usually ahead of the curve
  11. They had one tackle go late first (Harrison pick #27) and in the third (Morris #92) The Briles offense doesn't really highlight OL play, imo, but guys will still get drafted based on measurables
  12. Texas faces a lot of NFL prospect OTs this year, from Brugler's pre-season rankings #3 draft eligible OT- JC Latham- Bama #5 draft eligible OT- Patrick Paul- Houston #5 draft eligible underclassman OT- Tyler Guyton- OU #7 draft eligible underclassman OT- Kingsley Suamataia- BYU #7 senior- Brandon Coleman- TCU #9 senior- Andrew Coker- TCU #16 senior- Ian Fitzgerald- BYU https://theathletic.com/4708641/2023/07/24/nfl-draft-2024-offensive-tackles-scouting/?campaign=5888993&source=dailyemail He has Christian Jones as the #20 ranked senior
  13. Yes, it's difficult to replace a future top ten pick at left tackle, although Texas will likely have plenty of options between the 4th year guys from the 2022 class who will mostly have plenty of starting experience, several options from the 2023 class of physically high upside takes, and potentially younger guys from the 2024-2025 class. I'd bet that at least one OL from the options above will be adequate. If an adequate option doesn't materialize, then there's the break the glass option of tampering about the country looking for an adequate starter at LT. Clan Manning might personally fund a left tackle if there's not one good enough on campus
  14. There's not an obvious heir apparent to replace Banks in two years, but there are plenty of options to develop, and two years is plenty of runway for Flood
  15. Brugler has Worthy at #8 and Mitchell at #15 on his pre-season draft eligible underclassman WR rankings, and Neyor at #13 and Whittington at #24 for his senior rankings
  16. I mean, that’s his point. He’s probably the best white American prospect since bird
  17. Not all #1 prospects are impactful college players in their single year since they're ranked with an eye towards NBA ceiling, but Flagg will likely be one of the best players in college ball. He's a two way guy too; he'll be an impactful defensive player
  18. Did we send Kansas a 2nd round pick?
  19. It’s the first recommendation you get any time you ask for a nice dinner rec, unfortunately
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but seniors have less leverage when negotiating their signing bonus, which should be a factor in deciding whether or not to leave when you have a decent offer to leave
