  1. So...it's a given that certain people from certain places have certain shortcomings and are inherently inferior at doing certain things...is that what I am hearing here?
  2. He looks like a cross between one of the Matrix twins and that kid that played the banjo in Deliverance...in a nice way...bless his heart.
  3. It could be that Leach is a failure in the ass kissing department. Donors and administrators highly value that skill set in a coach.
  4. How does Indiana compare to Maryland, in your opinion? How does Texas compare to Maryland, historically speaking? This transitive, historical stuff is entertaining, but it doesn't mean much going forward, does it?
  5. If you get this, you are showing your age here.
  6. LOL, that's what the Sooners and Longhorns used to say about Kansas State. Well, the Sooners did, I don't know if Texas could ever say that. As they say in the investment business: "Past performance is no guarantee of future results"
  7. The sad part of Mike Leach being in the SEC is that 90% of his funny shit will fly right over their heads. I saw that in his interview after beating LSU. He is casting his pearls before swine.
  8. Larry the Cable Guy's Tweet was back when there was going to be no Nebraska football in 2020. He wanted to "salvage the year". Now, the year has been "salvaged" somewhat. But don't take my word for it, go find a thread on a Husker forum and see what happens when someone suggests going back to the Big 12. Nebraska also has plans to play Oklahoma 4 times in the next ten years, which would be close to how many times we would see them if we were still in the Big 12, so that mitigates losing that game by leaving the Big 12.
  9. Yep. Most years, the only game that really had any sort of implications was Oklahoma, be it conference champs or national rankings or both. Frequently, that game knocked the loser down from being #1 or #2 in the nation, or cemented their place in those spots. Oklahoma was still THE game in the Big XII for Nebraska. I know Longhorns understand that, because they are basically in Nebraska's shoes back when the conference was the Big 8. If Nebraska couldn't play that Oklahoma game every year, then the Huskers might as well not play it in a conference that is more stable and pays better. Just an opinion.
  10. My guess is that wearing a mask for you is virtue signalling in its finest form. "I wear because I care!" Putting it out there in the finest Stuart Smalley tradition. I bet you are one of those guys who wear one alone in the car going down the expressway so even more people see you wear one. IF people were serious about masks, they would be wearing mask types that are actually appropriate, not touching them, not reusing disposable ones, not pulling them down to talk, and myriad other things that show they have no clue. Everything I see now looks just so half assed compared to how one picks and uses a mask when they REALLY need one to protect their health and are serious about it. I have wasted too much time on this (you) already. I'll leave you to look into your mirror.
  11. What clout? Nebraska lost playing Oklahoma every year. Once that happened, there were no historical ties to bind.
  12. We beat Maryland 54-7. Beating Maryland is harder than one would think, right?
  13. Just real world experience with masks and respirators. But go on, tell us all you know.
  14. I've worn dust masks, surgical masks, and respirators day in and day out for various jobs. In fact, I quit one when the prohibited wearing masks because OSHA required a physical to check blood oxygen and lung capacity for any employee who wore a mask regularly and they weren't going to spring for them. Since air gets out through the sides of a surgical mask, that's an opening...like no fence being up. Light up a cigarette, take a deep drag, put up your mask and blow it out hard. Report back what you saw in the mirror.
  15. I'll see your study and raise you real life statistics: Nebraska is one of the laxest states when it comes to coronavirus mandates and ranks 39th in deaths PER CAPITA. New York and New Jersey are some of the strictest and they are slightly higher than 39th. Please tell me how that could possibly be in your world.
  16. Scout's honor. You wear yours and after wearing your mask saves you, you can dance around my charred bones. Just stay six feet away to avoid the radiation.
  17. What I am seeing is that mask mandates are like gun control laws. No correlation between enacting them and a drop in the problems they are supposed to address. I also see Snowflakes coming out with their self induced outrage saying that if I don't support both then somehow I must not care that people are dying. You give no pause to consider why there seems to be no connecttion in the real world between mandated social distancing and mask usage and the number of cases. It's all about feelings with you.
  18. You don't need my acquiescence to social distancing to stay safe, do you? You can stay in your house, wear your mask and stay six feet away from me all on your own, right? You can protect yourself even if I don't give a shit about other people and am a selfish, inconsiderate bastard, am I correct? I was waiting for the inevitable "The world would be a paradise if you would just care enough like I do!" post. You delivered, so I am going to give you a "Hookem Horns" for showing up on cue. Treasure it!
  19. Boy, that hurts. It's like being nuked...only without the bright blinding flash...or the incredible heat...and without the devastating blast of wind...and with no lethal radiation. But otherwise, just like being nuked with no visible signs. (other than your public, drama queen announcement)
  20. A well thought out response...or maybe you just identify with Will Ferrell characters. I know I now identify you with Will Ferrell characters.
  21. Just curious, what percentage of people do you see wearing a mask out in public where you currently reside? Here, it's about 15%. Probably more in Omaha or Lincoln, Nebraska, but maybe less in smaller towns.
  22. If you want to wear a mask, be my guest. If you want to stay home, knock yourself out. If you want to be six feet away from everybody else, go for it. This is America, nobody should take those choices away from you. Agreed?
