  1. Man, I'm listening to David Moore detail the La'el Collins series of events to Robert Wilonsky on Intentional Grounding and I'm fucking amazed at how much of an absolute dumb fuck Collins is. Negotiations between the league and Collins have been going on for at least 6 months now As has been reported, Collins tried to bribe the sample taker. Collins reps say it was a joke. Claiming he never tested positive so why would he bribe the sample taker with any level of seriousness Negotiations with the league eventually brought the suspension down from as many as 5 games, down to 3, and then ultimately settling all the way down to 2. Collins, being the ignoramus that he is, took this bit of lagniappe as a sign and attempted to double down on it. With the logic being that the grace displayed by league negotiators betrayed an admission that their argument was flawed. So it was actually Collins and his team who took the case to arbitration, believing that the suspension would evaporate into thin air leaving the public none the wiser. Fast forward to arbitration (which was purposely delayed by Collins' team to ensure that he played in game 1 against Tampa) and the arbitrator is shocked that, given the evidence, the NFL knocked down his suspension to 2 games. Disgusted, he rescinded the negotiated terms of 2 games and reinvoked the 5 game suspension. And to top it off, had Collins actually tested positive he wouldn't have even been suspended in the first place. The only penalty is a fine. FUCKING DUMB ASS!!!
  2. Kendall Sanders was a high level receiver in terms of his skillset and he had a chance to eventually become NFL quality. I forget what happened exactly but weren't they ultimately vindicated in the end. And I don't just mean they were found not guilty, but the actual chick admitting to lying.
  3. The decision to revert to Knute Rockne's playbook didn't do him any favors either.
  4. I saw it as a contrived attempt to be seen as even handed. And it's clearly forced.
  5. I think people (even the players on the field) forget how much subjectivity goes into deciding who to play. This ain't the SAT with hard and fast metrics determining your standing in an assortment of categories. Sure, sometimes some decisions are obvious, but frequently they are determined on the margins and something seemingly small provides the difference between the starter and the backup. From a player's perspective that may seem like politics, but in reality it's just part of the vast swath of gray that comes with most of the decisions we make as human beings.
  6. Sark said it himself during yesterday's press conference. Paraphrasing he said something along the lines of "it doesn't matter how much better someone executes the play called if another player moves the team much more consistently down the field". That tells me that Card consistently graded out better in practice when it came to doing things the called play asked him to do, be it progressing through reads, or throwing to the correct WR on a given play. However, if that level of execution doesn't translate to the gameday field then it's much to do about nothing.
  7. Exactly! I'm so sick of this shit. Everytime an SEC team beats a team from another it's as though it's a referendum on the greatness of SEC. If they lose you never hear about it again. Every game broadcast with an SEC team in it is a constant barrage of branding. This is SEC football. Their playing SEC defense. That SEC speed. You're left feeling like you're watching a fucking infomercial. I don't care that we're going to that conference. This shit is ruining college football. Regionalizing the sport further and further.
  8. I honestly don't believe Card is a poor or incapable scrambler (if anything, prior to these past 2 games most of us believed Card often gave up on the pocket too early). Card's issue seems to be due to his lack of experience and his resulting indecisiveness because of it. He hesitates and overthinks everything, when and where to scramble as well and when to sling it. Building up his instincts at the position is going to take some time. I don't follow recruiting as closely as some, but didn't he only play a one game his sophomore year, the entire season his junior year, and then part of his senior year of high school?
  9. Not necessarily. Sark's background as a QB coach (and as a result over emphasizing Card's skillset alone) probably explains why he didn't take into sufficient enough account how atrocious our Oline play is when making that decision.

Man you can go all the way back to Woody Hayes. They have never wandered around in the wilderness for a decade like we've routinely done over the past 40 years.

If that's the case why do schools like Ohio St consistently have success regardless of who they hire at HC? You'd think by just random chance they'd fuck up a hire every now and then, but they consistently fall ass backwards into head coaches who can consistently muster 10 wins seasons multiple times throughout their stay in Columbus.
  12. So let me get this straight, the same guy who called Sark the day he was hired to get the playbook is suddenly an irresponsible jackass who can't manage to attend meetings on time?!?!?! Some of you guys will swallow hole anything these 9.95ers feed you.
  13. Fox is the absolute worst when it comes to the mechanics of broadcasting college football. Oh look, theyre even late getting back in time for the play from commercial.
  14. I believe they have a different OC than the one calling plays for Herbert. Joe Morehead was the Mississippi St HC for awhile after being the OC under James Franklin when Trace McSorley was there.
  15. The poster was wrong up above. Martin is vaxxed. The reason he's on the longer protocol timeline is because he began feeling symptoms. I believe he lost his sense of taste. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32154292/cowboys-og-zack-martin-tests-positive-covid-19-thursday-opener-vs-tampa-bay-buccaneers Because of the return-to-play protocols, Martin will not be cleared in time to play, although he is vaccinated. A fully vaccinated player can return to play in five days if he does not have symptoms following two negative tests separated by 24 hours. An unvaccinated player faces at least a 10-day quarantine.

  17. For whatever reason Cam never fixed his throwing motion upon entering the league. He's all arm and doesn't use his lower half to provide any additional torque. You combine that with the wear and tear on his body spending the better part of his career as a run option there's no doubt that his shoulder is absolutely fucked.
  18. Hmmm Apparently you havent been paying attention And one more for the people in the back.
  19. What got me is how he claimed we always finish 5th (which was clearly a hard count on his part).
  20. I think the response Matt gave in one of his final press conferences is what he's shooting for. He mentioned that a career like what Monte Morris has is something he's aspiring towards. And he had a pretty good showing during the summer league. Much better than I expected. He shot 51% from the field and 36% from 3 over 6 games.
  21. He's A1 garbage, but that didn't stop people from seeing a black man and immediately dismissing him with lazy takes pretending he's Al Sharpton despite the fact that even Clay Travis thinks he's too far gone to the right.
