  1. Ouch. Beard's Tech buyout was only $4 million.
  2. The potentially realistic home run list for me would be Oats, Lloyd (kinda doubt he'd leave though), Muss (also doubt he'd leave), and Jay Wright (sounds like he's not 100% retired for good, maybe by then he'll be ready). Extreme longshots you could at least call - Billy Donovan and Brad Stevens. I know, I know, it's dumb to even mention them but you never know if they have a hankering to get back into the college game.
  3. Agree with all this. Like you said, doesn't make sense to wait this long and fire him without an investigation, if that's true. Either fire him immediately, gather more info and then fire him, or wait for the legal process to play out. Of course, maybe they did gather facts and Beards lawyer's letter is wrong. Also agree that he does have a legal avenue. Theoretically, if he were completely innocent and falsely arrested, I doubt they could fire him for cause. Obviously we don't the facts and how the legal process will unfold, but we know what he'll argue.
  4. Even their homer accounts are trashing this one
  5. He literally ran a player to death and had a supposedly toxic culture at Maryland
  6. How many safeties is ATM trying to stock up on? With Demani coming back, both starters are staying, plus they added that young guy from FSU, on top of the other youngsters like Jacoby Matthews that are already there. Random, likely irrelevant thought, but I wonder how well he knows Baxter from recruiting him to FSU
  7. I'm skeptical we can land a guy like that who (rightfully) thinks he should be a clearcut starter. More likely we end up with a grad transfer or small schooler guy imo
  8. I've only been watching this UA game for a few minutes but saw him do it on the only route I saw from him. He did shake the shit out of the guy on a slant (but didn't get thrown to). You'd think Margin Hooks would coach that out of him
  9. Cook loves the little hopstep right before his break. Can guys do that in a real game or does it throw off the timing too much?
  10. Also, can't be a coincidence that both guys posted essentially identical messages within 24 hours of each other. Someone put them up to it?
  11. What a finish. Also, how crazy is Tulane's season? 2-10 last year in Fritz's 6th year, now 12-2 this year and a Cotton Bowl win. Insane!
  12. No LB or edge seems dumb. LB is literally Ford (if he returns) and a true Freshman Hill. Then I guess Blackwell, Gbenda and Jett Bush? One edge spot is fine with Sorrell/Finkley but the other is a mess.
  13. The OL is better next year if Jones returns. It's better in 2 years (and maybe 3 too) if Jones leaves now. That's basically the tradeoff most likely. With that in mind, hard to say no if he wants to come back. I'm more interested in seeing what happens at G. That was the weakness this year. Really hope DJ develops enough to break into the starting lineup. He got a bunch of snaps in the bowl game so maybe he's getting there. Anyone know the snap split between him and Cole in that game, and who graded out higher?
  14. Seems dumb of the staff to ever waste a season on pure special teams. It's impossible to 100% predict that anyone will go pro in 3 years.
  15. This game is making me realize Sark's strategy vs TCU made sense on paper. They crash down so hard on D that the throw over the top is there. Michigan is hitting them, we couldn't.
  16. SIAP but Blue's social media continues to look more and more portal. V dumb to do based on one game, but whatever. Besides him and Worthy, who else do we have on portal watch? Is Barron still at risk? Any other big names?
  17. Similar to what was posted a few posts ago, I wouldn't be surprised if Sark made a point of getting X the ball yesterday to try to keep him out of the portal. Would've worked too if X's hands cooperated.
  18. Funny how the tampering is getting less and less hidden. Iirc the news about him hitting the portal already said he was expected to go to Wisco. Same with the Wake QB and ND. Not even trying to hide it
  19. Blue leaving would be weird. Publicly he's been very gung-ho about Texas and looking forward to next year, all the way up until today. Sark also called him out this week as the FR who had matured the most this year. But yeah, the lack of snaps yesterday may be pissing him off. That was kind of my guess as well. I have a feeling Sark wanted to use this game as a springboard for next year more than he cared about winning the game itself (a lot of practice passing, played more young guys, the weird RB rotation, etc). Which I'd be ok with tbh.
