  1. Those were road losses vs final top 15 teams though. That Bama game was closer than the final score too. Their SOS is signficiantly tougher than Miami and ND, so it really doesn't make much sense that they weren't even in the same conversation.
  2. Literally a week ago they said Vandy didn't have a signature win because Tennessee dropped out of the top 25...which was a result of their 21 point loss to Vandy
  3. I don't know what to think about Jackson. Wingo doesn't look polished but that's one guy, plus he is still young and had injuries this offseason (so did Moore and Mosely). WR recruiting has been solid. Last year's WRs were good but mostly transfers. Golden improved a lot over the season. I will say: Watching Indiana and OSU's WRs make every contested catch last night made me extremely jealous. Haven't seen that much here this year.
  4. There's no logic or consistency to it. The Bama, ND, BYU, Miami moves the last 2 weeks prove that in multiple ways. Ultimately the Kentucky and Miss St games are probably what screwed Texas as much as anything. Yes, they were wins, but they were bad ones by eye test and computers.
  5. Am I crazy for thinking the portal and playoff timeline probably gave players more leverage last year? By the time UT's post-playoff window opened, it was too late to get someone to enter the portal from other teams as replacements. Plus, Texas players were among the few options for other teams to tamper with (supply vs demand). Now they can just say goodbye, we'll go find someone who is more reasonable (if not a young guy on the roster). Hopefully you're right and they do that.
  6. This would be awesome. Idk why Miami or Utah (who they supposedly reached out to) wouldn't do this. It's the only shot for all of them.
  7. If Moore leaves, does Mosely slide inside to the slot? Seems like he could be pretty good there and helps with blocking
  8. PSU going with the interim coach after all this would be a massive fail. Still plenty of better options out there. I'd be calling Mullen, Campbell, hell even Gruden or Daboll
  9. This would be amazing - Vandy's Clark Lea has Commodores prepared to play a CFP play-in game this weekend - Yahoo Sports
  10. Imagine how bad this would be if Franklin hadn't immediately got a job and lowered their buyout to $9mm. Sheesh they got lucky on that part.
  11. All I know is that if you put Mendoza or Sayin at QB for Vandy, they probably go 6-6. People may not like his brashness but Pavia should absolutely win the Heisman. Vandy has the #1 OFEI in the country because of him. VANDY! That said, the winner will be whoever wins the Big 10 CCG. Because Heisman voters are lazy.
  12. 6'3 AND state high jump champ with enough speed seems like a nice matchup problem if he learns to catch
  13. What surgery is he having?
  14. Agree although Wingo could still become that guy. He really only has one year of starting under his belt and missed a lot of the offseason.
  15. Vandy's losses are on the road to Texas and Bama. ND is home vs ATM and at Miami. Pretty damn similar.
  16. Haven't they said they don't move teams that aren't playing this weekend? So Oregon-OM-ATM-OU are pretty much set in that order, right? Unless Bama or BYU jumps in the middle of them somewhere.
  17. It doesn't matter bc they're out but Miami is the biggest head-scratcher of the whole rankings. 2-losses against a garbage schedule and somehow they're ahead of Texas and Vandy? Utah should even be ahead of them. Also - ATM dropping behind Ole Miss is big for them. Unless BYU wins, they get ND/Bama round 1 instead of UVA (aka a bye). Hard to imagine a scenario where they move up to 6 at this point if teams truly aren't punished for CCGs (basically Tech or UGA would have to drop below them).
  18. Meh to be fair it's more than the drops. He's not great at route running, blocking, breaking tackles, or contested catches. Yet. And "yet" is a key word in the equation because of that physical talent.
  19. "Wanting him gone" is dumb but questioning whether he's worth whatever he's making seems fair. No different than an NFL free agent. Of course, none of us know what he's making or what a replacement would cost so it is 100% Surly idiots speculating.
  20. Counterpoint: How many of those yards came from screen passes where no one touched him? As others have said, he has enormous potential and shows flashes, but he's still very unpolished. Next year he could be exactly the same or a total gamechanger, who knows.
  21. Yeah Brazell is the leading WR in the SEC. Brenen Thompson is 2
  22. Sounds like Jeff Brohm is next for PSU if Sitake says no. Which would be sorta funny since Kentucky just hired a likely top Louisville target in alum Will Stein.
  23. Not UT related but it'll be interesting to see where Ole Miss ends up. This year there is a big difference between being the 6 seed and 7 seed. 5 and 6 get Tulane/UVA/UNT first round. 7 gets Bama or ND. Oregon, ATM, Ole Miss likely fighting for the 5-7 seeds. Oregon probably #5. Ole Miss and ATM seem like a toss up for 6. Of course a Bama or BYU win could change things as well.
