  1. they aren't even hiding it anymore. Getting desperate.
  2. There was a penalty that WSU declined because of the interception.
  3. I wonder if Hibbler is back in play with MSU firing Arnett? Total side note, but I sat next to Zina Umeozulu for a bit at the TCU game. I know there had previously been some questions about his frame, but he definitely looks the part.
  4. I've watched a lot of Colorado this season (I don't have any strong opinions for or against Sanders, I just like to watch football). They've mastered the art of having the final score look closer than the actual game. The UCLA game was 28-9 when Colorado scored with 2:38 left to make it 28-16. Oregon St was winning 23-5 early in the 4th quarter, and 26-12 with 4:47 left. Colorado scored with 1:42 left to make it 26-19. USC was winning 41-14 halfway through the 3rd quarter and 48-21 with 2:14 left in the 3rd quarter. Colorado scored with 1:43 left to make it 48-41. To be sure, your overall point is correct - they aren't getting blown out of the stadium. But the games are also less competitive than the final score would suggest.
  5. He's 21 years old. He isn't a "kid" who needs to be soothed by his mom. It doesn't do him any good to try to justify it as just being a kid. That would be embarrassing behavior for a 15 year old. He's been mentally coddled and as a result he is a front runner who has a false sense of his abilities due to having the deck stacked in his favor playing in a QB friendly offense. He only plays a few games a year going against somewhat equal talent. The NFL is going to be a rude awakening.
  6. I've been to every game this season except Alabama. Arch warms up on the sideline during every single game. I wouldn't draw any conclusions in any direction based on Arch warming up on the sideline.
  7. This has turned into one of the more amusing college football subplots this season for my kids. If USC looks like they are going to lose, we watch specifically for the inevitable crying. I don't care what his measurables are and what his game tape looks like. For a 21 year old QB to climb into the stands and sit on his mom's lap and cry because he lost his third game of the year - there have to be mental make up issues worthy of great concern.
  8. Hawaii won at Nevada today.
  9. how much money do you think Michigan would bring in? The Big 10 distributes all bowl money equally. A college football playoff spot garners about $6 million. So assuming Michigan would make the CFP and no other Big 10 school would, that would mean the loss of $6 million over 14 teams, or about $425k. I'm guessing the schools aren't sweating that amount of money if they want to see Michigan punished.
  10. It is such a fundamental violation of the presumption of fair play that it infects everything. You already can see the game outcomes, as you document above, both winning/losing and against the spread. It also goes into player evaluation - how good are their players? On face value, pretty damn good considering the dominating results. But now, in light of this, it is a fair question - is that LB really instinctive, or is the game much easier when you know there is going to be a run and you aren't worried about being in conflict? Is that safety really well coached and disciplined when he rotates over to break up that deep shot, or is playing safety much easier when you know what is coming? We know their players can produce when they've been given the answers to the test, but if you were an NFL scout, how much emphasis do you put on production? Assessments on a player's processing speed? What do you make of McCarthy? I'd love to see Michigan have to play a conference slate announcing their play calls to the other team. I suspect they'd be significantly worse than the usual Harbaugh years leading up to this. The obvious take away is that Harbaugh had established his level at Michigan over several years without the sign stealing. What we've seen the last 3 years represents exactly how much they've benefitted from it.
  11. You seem to think this is about a minor violation of an in person scouting rule that only confers a minimal advantage. You either aren't keeping up with the story or are wearing some awfully thick blinders (or both). The story might have started that way, but now evidence has emerged of full scale recording of opposing team's sidelines. That is breaking other, much more substantial rules against using electronic equipment to record signals. Michigan's cheating conferred a significant advantage, as demonstrated in Michigan's performance on the field and against the spread. Harbaugh was a disappointing, under performing coach on the brink of getting fired when this program started. Suddenly UM is on the verge of back to back to back appearances in the playoff. Knowing what play the other team is running is an integrity of the game altering advantage, which is why the other schools are unusually mad about it.
  12. NCAA Bylaws 11.1.1.1 Responsibility of Head Coach. An institution's head coach is presumed to be responsible for the actions of all institutional staff members who report, directly or indirectly, to the head coach. An institution's head coach shall promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program and shall monitor the activities of all institutional staff members involved with the program who report, directly or indirectly, to the coach. (Adopted: 4/28/05, Revised: 10/30/12, 7/16/14) Connor Stalions was a paid staffer employed by the Michigan football program. This provision was enacted for exactly this purpose - having the head coach plead ignorance is just too big of a loophole. Harbaugh won't be able to skate by claiming he didn't know. CTJ is spot on. This is a different level of organized, coordinated cheating. If everyone was doing it you wouldn't see such a jump in production by Michigan (see the previous post about UM's performance against the spread vis a vis other top programs). UM broke rules and broke them in a way that gave them a substantial competitive advantage. Other schools are pissed. The NCAA already was gunning for Harbaugh after rejecting the proposed settlement on the covid/cheeseburger ordeal. I don't know how this plays out, but I am pretty confident that one way or another, Harbaugh will not be coaching the Texas game next season.
  13. Nahlin has a pretty spotty history when it comes to reporting on injuries.
  14. I was minding my own business at halftime. I see a guy wearing a longhorn jersey backward, so the name on the back wass facing front. It caught my eye because it was odd. I looked at the name. It said, "pole assazin". I did a double take and looked closer. The guy was posing for a picture with the actual pole assassin. She was really friendly and was very into taking the photo. I can only assume this guy is a part of surly. Please step forward and post the photo, whoever you are.
  15. Houston just put 500 SRO tickets on sale, if anyone is interested. https://uh.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventInfo?ticketCode=GS%3AHOUSTON%3AF23%3AF05%3A&linkID=houston&shopperContext=&pc=&caller=&appCode=&groupCode=FBSINGLE&cgc=&dataAccId=301&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_houston&utm_medium=email&elq_cid=538024&RSRC=Email&RDAT=594&ehash=ba8f8641815f39f73500d3061f042596d92f00f328a51c7f582e76d2d3ea1e4a
  16. Arkansas OL is just blowing away the Alabama DL in the 4th quarter.
  17. I know Mel Kiper isn't the end all be all, but as a data point, he has Brooks as the #3 RB in the draft right now. It isn't a foregone conclusion that Brooks is a day 3 pick. Running backs 1. Audric Estime, Notre Dame 2. Blake Corum, Michigan 3. Jonathon Brooks, Texas 4. TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State 5. Donovan Edwards, Michigan 6. Braelon Allen, Wisconsin 7. Trey Benson, Florida State 8. MarShawn Lloyd, USC 9. Ray Davis, Kentucky 10. Roman Hemby, Maryland
  18. I watched it. Stanford kept running the same slant to that one receiver - literally 3/4 times in a row - for 8-10 yards/pop. Colorado has a DB (Stoudemire?) that can't cover anyone, so to change it up Stanford would pick on him. Colorado made no adjustments on defense. Early in the 4th quarter Stanford was down 10 and, after a penalty, faced something like 3rd and 18 and got stuffed, but Hunter got (legitimately) flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after overreacting to a Stanford WR blocking downfield - automatic first down and Stanford scored a key TD a few plays later. Colorado had a chance to ice the game up 3 with 5 minutes left. They got a few first downs and made Stanford use 2 timeouts. On 3rd and 3ish near midfield, Sanders absolutely airmailed a wide open Hunter for a gimmie first down, causing them to punt and letting Stanford keep their last time out. The Sanders kid who is a safety loves to show up his teammates. He is constantly yelling, pointing, acting exasperated any time a pass is completed on someone. I bet that goes over well. Colorado seems like a classic front running team. When things are easy everyone is happy and they can roll. But if they get punched back they turn selfish, panic, lose focus - their defense couldn't properly substitute the entire second half. Soooo many flags for illegal substitution.
