  1. I have attempted to read their stories, but Good Lord these are just some awful human beings. Just some truly terrible guys from what I have tried to read of them. I know that I might possibly wind up marrying someone that is not American, but that could be because I fell in love with the culture of Polynesia and its people when I was there. American women have been awesome, but I get all the career women (Doctors, Teachers etc.) that are more interested in settling down in the same place for the rest of their lives here on the mainland and that is decidedly not me.
  2. I have never seen this a show. However, at the Wall Street tree lighting in 2018 they had us do five takes for a scene from this show where a boxer was doing a press conference weigh-in type thing of memory serves correct. Someone on here told me that scene was in the show. I also did what a lot of people here do in the summer and I worked a party in the Hamptons. My restaurant’s chef does catering for what was the original house on this show I believe. There were 700 people there for the day and I got some good laughs at what I believe was Gronk’s younger brother dancing shirtless for two hours. Gronk was there too and he was really nice, but goodness you could see how much pain that guy is in by how he walks.Shaq was there too as a guest speaker and I met him in passing, which is to say he gave a thumbs up when I said “how are you doing?” The house is owned by Michael Loeb. It was a pretty cool house and the beach was nice in that it has been left alone. The clay tennis court in fro t of the house was pretty awesome honestly.
  3. When you started watching baseball in 1998, it really doesn't translate to knowledge about the history of the game. I won’t speak for everyone, but I started watching in the late 80’s. You would think that at least once in his time as a baseball fan someone would’ve casually mentioned “Let’s Play Two” to him.
  4. It would have been fine had he said that he doesn’t know most of the list, but to say he can’t think of even one, when ERNIE BANKS is one of them, is astonishing.
  5. If it had been hit on anything but that 3-2 two out pitch he doesn’t score or even attempt to, but the running start greatly aided things. The 3rd base coach told him to stop, but he kept going.
  6. I am glad my mother decided to visit this summer and it’s cool that I’m able to take her to see her lifelong favorite team in The Bronx again. I am also doubly glad the weather is overcast because she has issues being in the sun for too long due to her Leukemia medication. A cloudy day is a beautiful one for her.
  7. Listening to Mets fans laugh about it every single year here makes it worth it.
  8. Seems to be more of a coach/player issue. Toppin ran his mouth during the series with Miami. I think they are just letting go of a guy Thibodeaux does not want there.
  9. If they give him an extension now it affects their cap room prematurely, which seems to be important to Morey. Maxey won’t be the player that gets moved. Philly adding Lillard gets them no closer to the Finals.
  10. As best I can figure the 76ers are angling for cap space next off-season. It is why they have not yet extended their 2nd best player in Maxey even though he will get a max extension next summer. I feel like there is a good chance Harden is still there opening night.
  11. Decide to bring my mom down here this evening because it was done raining and that meant there would be far less people. I would personally not come here on the 4th, but today is cool. I used to have a friend that was a diver for the New York Aquarium before he moved away. That place is a solid reason to come here.
  12. That is just fantastic. That someone was willing to give him any kind of NBA contract after how he got pantsed in the playoffs is incredible. When the team you were on tells you almost two months ahead of free agency that they want nothing to do with you, mind you this is a team that employs a guy who beats up teenagers and brandishes guns regularly, well I think I might pass on that guy.
  13. I like what the Purple and Gold have done with free agency. I am not real big on buying jerseys, but I think I will get a Hachimura one since I have liked watching him play since his days with Gonzaga. If we add no one else this has been a really good off-season considering what this roster looked like a year ago at this time.
  14. Going to take my mother to see this tomorrow. We haven’t gone to see a movie yet while she’s been here and this would be her first time seeing an Indiana Jones movie in a theatre.
  15. I am not the biggest supporter of heading to college for everyone mainly because people are saddled with debt they are stuck with for two decades after they have finished school. I think we are at a point right now where companies are making hiring decisions based on if you can actually perform the job versus the school you obtained a degree from. In saying that I do still believe there are professions you need to get a degree in to be able to work in that field (Lawyers, Scientists, Doctors among many, many others.) I think our favorite pirate (RIP) was still paying off his loans while he was coaching at OU and possibly still while at Tech. It is just insane to me that we saddle our future workforce with debt that is crippling. It’s no wonder there are fewer people in the US having families when they can barely afford rent and food because of loans they had to take out just to get a degree.
  16. There’s nothing annoying about you posting updates about Ohtani, not even close. If anything post about him more. I would enjoy getting to see him play more often in-person.
  17. He is the singular most unique and dynamic baseball player in the history of the sport and yet he plays for a team that cares about winning like the Mets care about who they overspend on. It has been cool to see him a few times at Yankee Stadium. I saw him for the first time in 2018 when he went against his fellow countryman Masahiro Tanaka. That was a pretty cool day and matchup to watch. I think Tanaka had not given up a hit to him at that point in Japan before they both came over to the states.
  18. Two things. The incident was not just at the party. She was so terrified of him she locked herself in a room at home until a player and their wife intervened. There is also no chance that this was the first time he hit her. It was just the first time he was drunk enough to hit her in public. He should not be on the roster in The Bronx, period. Also this is not feeling better about myself and I would suspect that it is not the case for anyone else posting about it. Go get a 2nd chance pitching in South Korea or Japan, not in New York.
  19. German can kick rocks. That the Yankees still employ this woman-beating deadbeat is amazing. I do not get negative very often, but this is a player I will never, ever root for. He should be DFA’d to the Mexican League that Kenny Powers played in on Eastbound and Down. I have zero respect for him as a person. I am almost always the person wanting to give people second chances, but what he did was so egregious that he should not have had the opportunity to pitch a perfect game against this Quad A team Oakland is putting out there.
  20. I missed a ton of movies during that time. I did not go to the movies very often and I was not big on watching much TV in college. Going regularly to see movies did not really start until maybe 9 years or so ago.
  21. The cashier in that scene was almost the son of a friend of mine here. His son graduated from The Royal Conservatory in Scotland last year and works as a bartender right now in London while beginning his acting career. I have met him before and he’s going to do well. Would’ve been fun to see him in that scene, but he’ll do well. His father still acts as well, but in much smaller stuff.
  22. I went to see this last night. I really enjoyed it. I had no expectations going in. It was funny, but also made some good points about people out on Montauk being forced out by wealthy vacationers. I would recommend this movie if you want something light-hearted, but funny and a little serious at times when it needs to be.
  23. And Rodman would probably not have a job in this era stateside, Europe or Australia. When players or fans say these things I am not sure that they even bother to stop and think that Bird’s career would have lasted longer with access to better training methods and the science of the human body is just more advanced. He would have, and this is the only one of THOSE GUYS I respect enough to say this about, killed it with the space he would have had to operate and get quality shots.
  24. When I have some time to sit down and watch them I’ll do that. I enjoy learning as much as I can about different film styles and how they vary depending upon the director. Thanks for the recommendation.
