  1. You see something like that and it makes me feel okay to have negged all of Rex’s posts on his newest banned name. What kinda unhinged human being says these things? He’s either drunk, a really angry person or both.
  2. My first thought on reading “Gehenna” was when I played World of Warcraft years ago and the first big dungeon has a boss called Gehennas that throws fire all over the place. Seems appropriate to use that in describing this diner. https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=12259/gehennas
  3. Well Sophie get ready for some accidental elbows from almost everyone you play against going forward. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out several of the people she is talking about. I like it that she breaks it down and flatly tells them they are morons for their opinions and takes.
  4. I went to see the movie Together tonight. Normally I wouldn’t put this here, but we currently are being run by The Dumbest Generation. Go look the movie up. Somebody in that cult is going to think the movie is based on a true story and say that millions of Americans have had this happen to them. John Stockton’s broke brain would be the type of person I’d expect to think that movie is based on a true story. Someone should get TFG to post about on his grifting app. “Many people are saying it’s happening. Greatest scandal in world history! Obama and Biden started this with Hillary’s help and money from Soros!” Also, for those interested, you get to see Alison Brie naked.
  5. People were so calm. I walked the three miles or so from Pearl Ridge over to the Wal-Mart (only place open to pick up a few things) before getting an Uber back home as the bus system was not up and running again yet. Honest to God if this was out on Long Island I feel like some Italian guys would’ve done something dumb in this situation. Were it Texas and the Gulf of Mexico I think someone may have yelled out “Hold my Lone Star!” and done something even dumber.
  6. So far, so good. The early warning and preparedness of Hawaiians for stuff like this is impressive. When I say it is genuinely cool to see residents of a state trust and listen to the government on things like this it is legitimately refreshing. More states could stand to be this organized and working as a team to help its citizens.
  7. Thank you my man. Yes I could go for a nice 12 pack of Diet Coke right about now @Orale
  8. That shopping center/mall on Pearl Ridge. It‘s more than high enough to be a really safe distance from things. I go over to that area on a regular basis.
  9. Traffic near Pearl Harbor has thinned out. I think by seven I should be up on the ridge. Best two posts in here. I’m still laughing.
  10. Absolutely. Things are just things. You don’t get a 2nd chance with destructive forces of nature like this. We passed by where I live just now. I’m on the 3rd floor there (really four with an upstairs), but I’m staying on the bus to get higher. With Schofield helping to get people higher I think we should be okay.
  11. Glad you got up there. Traffic is still dense here. I feel like I am high up enough right now, but again a wave can do immense damage as you well know. After reading the book The Wave several years ago I will never take the amazing Pacific ocean that I love, lightly.
  12. Judging by how fast this bus is going in this traffic I could probably just walk up to The Punchbowl instead, but we’ll see if it starts to thin out well before the first wave hits.
  13. The low lying grocery stores are being told to empty. People still walked in like it’s no big deal. This is the Target attached to Ala Moana. I was down there today at B&N reading amd whatnot. Seeing people not have an appropriate fear for Mother Nature and the power of water is frustrating at best. I at least got on the A bus before it filled as O know it empties up on Pearl Ridge. Some of these people need to just walk north at the very least to higher ground.
  14. Good to see you two check-in. I am going up to higher ground at Pearl Ridge. I live down near the old Dole Cannery and I see how it gets there just for heavy storms, much less this.
  15. These people not getting out of the water on Waikiki are nuts.
  16. Something told me not to head to the beach today on the North Shore. It’s what I usually do on a day off.
  17. Had two warnings in the last hour for a possible/probable tsunami that would hit Hanalei over on Kauai around 7:10 HST.
  18. F Cancer. Great ballplayer from when I was a kid. Chicago Cubs teammates, opponents remember Ryne Sandberg - ESPN
  19. His actions following the sinking of his PT boat should have gotten him a MoH.
  20. When this guy kicks the bucket he moves to the front of the line on the grave pissing tour. Jesus tapdancing Christ that is one of the most horrific things I have ever seen someone say. He needs to be thrown under the jail.
  21. For starters I'd let Jasmine Crockett do more of the talking for the Democrats. The woman that verbally destroyed MTG, wore a hat that said "F Donald Trump" with the whole word and continually eviscerates the cult in Congressional hearings seems like someone you might want to hand a bullhorn to when you have to start to deprogram 80 million clowns. Trying to say things nicely won't work anymore than attempting to talk the average German out of supporting Hitler in the 30's or, for a better comparison, the Italian populace and its support of Il Duce for almost two decades. Release the hounds and tell decorum to sit this one out.
  22. Self-reflection has been something I have done a great deal more of the last five years and change. One thing that I have always had issues with is noise. The earliest memory of a noise related incident was my brother and I playing when I was maybe 3 or so. We were playing and my dad was attempting to watch a movie that had alligators in it if memory serves correct. He was never loud, but he yelled. It shut me down. I had to switch jobs today not because I did not enjoy the work or because of the people (they were really cool), but solely because the noise and environment was overwhelming me and causing excess stimulation. If any of you have ever felt burnt out at times this has been a life-long issue and at times can derail things for me in life. Had I known I was on the spectrum as a child I would likely have received help and guidance on this. Mostly I just navigate this issue myself. Sometimes good and sometimes not so much. I get burned out mentally and emotionally much quicker than y’all ever will. Recognizing it though, even later in life as an adult, does provide me peace of mind knowing when too much stimulation is just TOO MUCH. Sometimes when I explain this people attempt to be kind by saying they feel like that too. It’s not the same, but I get the sentiment of wanting to be nice. I feel like autism provides me a whole bunch of good, but this would be something in the con column.
  23. Round Rock Donuts was the only one that I've ever really, really loved.
  24. I'm glad for him being able to beat cancer and get back to coaching. I'm glad he told everyone to go get checked out, especially calling out African-American men for not wanting to go to the doctor. His words, to paraphrase, "If I didn't get checked out for one thing they wouldn't have found the other and we'd be having a whole different celebration right now."
