  1. Our edge and DL class in 2022 were very highly rated. We weren’t taking a bunch of shots on 3 stars there. Next year will be the test for how good they actually area and how much they’ve been developed.
  2. True, but I think that’s also different because they decided it after the race when they knew the ramifications. Same for their decision to give Checo 5 seconds instead of 10 in Singapore.
  3. We’ll still be arguing about the stewards giving out a 1 place penalty for taking a guy completely out of the race, but at least it guarantees an actual punishment for the top three. I’m struggling to think of an instance where a time penalty actually cost a top car a place.
  4. Seems like the real key to betting Texas is home vs. away. Sark is 4-1 covering at home, and 0-2 on the road. Both road games he failed to cover by double digits. Taking KSU at home plus the points definitely seems like the better bet.
  5. The problem with the first punishment is teams would abuse it. If Lewis even touched Checo, RB would retire him immediately. I like the idea of placement penalties better than time. It ensures that you actually punish someone for a violation.
  6. I’m just going to pretend Ferrari didn’t race today. It was awesome seeing Daniel tear through the field. It sucks he’s been so bad at McLaren and that he won’t be on the grid next year. I hope he finds a seat for 2024 and can regain his RB/Renault form.
  7. But the only time they were .4 down in S1 was their last run of Q3, so it’s not just a general issue. Something weird happened on the last run of Q3 for both Ferrari drivers, whether it was DRS or engines.
  8. So both Sainz and Leclerc were .4 down after S1 in Q3. Binotto says Leclerc had a DRS issue, but some reports are that Ferrari’s engines struggled with the thin air and they had to turn them down. Either way, JFC Ferrari, how many different ways can you find to fuck up?
  9. I’ve always disliked George and it’s nice to see I was right about him. He puts up decently fast laps in clean air, but he has terrible race craft. He clumsily hits people way too often and then comes off as an entitled brat when he’s interviewed afterward. Fuck him. Same for Stroll. Im not sure that’s fair to Leclerc at this stage of his career. I’d spike to see him on a competent team before saying he can’t win. He’s made some mistakes, but he also has to deal with an utterly incompetent team that forces him to have to push too hard or dictate his own strategy mid-race. Max and Lewis don’t have to deal with that. Seb went through a similar thing with Ferrari in 2017 and 2018. But I agree he’ll never win a title at Ferrari unless they luck into an utterly dominant car one year.
  10. You should probably try reading the post again. I didn’t say we haven’t improved from last year, which is a hilariously low bar created by Sark’s ineptitude as a coach in 2021. I said we haven’t improved as the season goes on two years in a row.
  11. I have no idea what you’ve been watching, but Overshown is really bad and won’t be anywhere near the top 3 rounds. He’s constantly out of position or messing up assignments. His testing numbers will be good for a linebacker, but he’s undersized, can’t take on blocks, and isn’t actually good at playing linebacker. Numbers can only do so much for guys like that. If he gets drafted the team may have another position in mind, safety perhaps? He does have good speed and safety was his HS position. He doesn’t have anywhere near the athleticism or coverage skills to play safety. He was spun down in college for exactly this reason. There’s no way he could move back to safety in the NFL.
  12. This wasn’t an isolated incident. There’s been a lot of times this year where Worthy either can’t find the ball or does a terrible job adjusting to it. It’s an established flaw in his game. Off the top of my head, I can think of plays against ULM, Bama, and WVU where he did this, and I’m sure there’s more.
  13. It’s 2 years in a row now that our team has not only failed to improve as the season goes on, but we’ve actually gotten worse. Sark draws up good game plans, and Flood seems to be doing a good job developing the OL. Other than that, it’s hard to find any signs of good coaching on this team 2 years running.
  14. It’s the middle of year 2 and he’s 5-3. I think most are pretty confident he’s not the guy, but he will get to the end of year 3, at minimum, and likely more than that. Your post is also way off for a number of reasons. Sark isn’t a mix of his old self and anything. He’s the exact same guy he was at UW and USC. Recruits extremely well, offense looks unstoppable at times, blows leads, can’t adjust, is terrible on the road, and his teams can’t manage to show up or finish enough games to win more than 7 or 8 games most seasons. He’s been exactly the guy UT should have expected based on his previous 8 season as a HC. There really haven’t been any surprises with him if you pay attention to his HC career up til now. He is exactly who we hired, which is why it was a bad hire. And you may want to fact check your claim that “Kirby Smart took a long while.” He was in the NC game in year 2, and he won 13, 11, and 12 games in years 2,3, and 4.
  15. You make a really good point. We should go get the guy who coordinated that offense to recruit WRs for us, instead of whatever dumbass is going after Greathouse.
  16. Yeah, IIRC Whittington was recruited here as a WR and only switched to RB because accomplished CFB HCs Tom Herman and Stan Drayton managed the RB room so poorly that we didn’t have any actual RBs available to play.
  17. I’m all for Weigman playing this year, but Idk why the Weigmans want him to play this year. That OL is horrible and he will get the shit beat out of him while forming bad habits.
  18. This still missed the point, though. If the offer came from a collective, not a coach or anyone involved with the Alabama program, then there’s no one for the NCAA to punish, regardless of whether it runs afoul of an NCAA rule or a law.
  19. Youre just flat out wrong on this. An elite RB will still inflate the numbers for an OL in these metrics. Good vision and elite agility will result in more line yards for an OL.
  20. with all due respect, you are really fucking stupid.
  21. We’re getting a little overrated for OU because computers don’t take injuries into account, but they love our defense because we have a low YPP and we limit explosive plays very effectively. They also think the amount of third and longs and fourth downs we give up will return to the mean, but that doesn’t take into account how bad PK and our defense is at situational play calling and executing. Our defense is absolutely overrated if metrics have us in the top 10 defensively. Lmao wut. Overshown won’t even sniff the 2nd round. He’s not good at football. Casual fans drastically overrate him. You also probably have RoJo, Sweat and Ojomo too low and Whittington too high.
  22. You should lay off telling other people their reality is skewed. We absolutely have guys who will get drafted on this defense.
