  1. I listened to some OU podcasts as well and can confirm what CTJ says. They are basically clueless as to how far up the shit creek they are. They are in shock, cognitive dissonance and denial about their situation. Brandon Drumm straight up said that BV has had buy-in issues from some players in the roster and that he cant really wait until they graduate in a year or two.
  2. Brent Venables only has friends in high places. Brent Venables thinks Jimbo's offense is cutting edge. Brent Venables would rather watch She-Hulk over Hot-D. Brent Venables thinks people are being a bit too harsh on Kamala Harris. Sent from my Pixel 4a (5G) using Tapatalk
  3. Found this on a Miami board. " I posted it in another thread, but check out Bill Connelly's advanced box score on the App State game. When I get a minute, I'll link it here, but it's on his Twitter. App State had a 22% postgame win expectancy. What they did is not any kind of sustainable blueprint, specifically their offense. And remember, this offense just torched UNC the week before. So I think anyone underestimating A&M's defense is incredibly misinformed. They're better up front than we are on the offensive line. We couldn't block Southern Miss last week, now here comes waves of 4 and 5 stars, who are pissed off and playing in front of the biggest crowd in the history of Kyle Field. I still think we can absolutely win this game because we have the far superior quarterback, but if there are any of you out there saying "Well App State beat them, how good can they be?" I implore you to watch the game and check out the advanced metrics. App State averaged 3.8 yards per play, they had a 38% success rate (terrible) and a 3.7% explosive play rate (very terrible). Meaning, they got VERY lucky that they were able to sustain drives with such a low output per play and virtually no explosive plays. It was the literal definition of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. App State won the game because they were able to convert a lot of short 3rd and 4th downs, which again isn't incredibly sustainable, and the A&M offense is terrible. They also won the turnover battle, 2-0. So yes, if you can guarantee me that A&M will turn it over twice, we won't turn it over at all, and we'll be able to convert almost 50% of our 3rd downs and multiple 4th downs, then I'll agree with you that we can do what App State did on offense and win. But I don't think that's very realistic. Meaning our offense is going to need to be efficient against a very nasty defense, especially in the secondary (hello, receivers?). The total in this game is 48. That's very, very low for a college football game featuring ranked teams. I don't think we can sniff 30 points without help from the A&M offense, but if we do, I think we win going away. I just don't see that offense exploding. Expect a hard-fought, low scoring game. If we get through the 1st quarter and TVD is still upright and we have some decent rushing numbers, we're gonna win. If we see 2020 Clemson all over again, where the QB is on his ass before he hits his back foot and we can't open a crack, nevermind a hole, it's gonna be a long night. "
  4. I watched the 20 min highlights of S Miss vs Miami. Some things to my untrained eye: - Miami run game is bit of a meh. This meant the QB had to take risks and he did (he does have a solid arm). Sometimes throwing in double/triple coverage. Aggy DL should be able to make this offense one dimensional. Can the Aggy defense get interceptions/trurnovers and help out the offense? Miami's offensive performance will hinge of Aggy secondary. -Miami secondary is suspect. They can be throwed upon. A half competent QB can score on these guys. Does Aggy have that? King is probably not that guy. Miami DL is stout and will probably limit the run. So all in all, I expect two mediocre teams slugging it out and it may just come down to who makes the least number of mistakes or wants it more. Post-App state, that could be aggy. I would not be surprised at all if they pulled it out something like 20-23 or such. Slight advantage to aggy, especially if Johnson starts.
  5. We are just addicted to the emotional rollercoaster. Kinda like an abusive relationship.
  6. I like how Tarp casually dropped that in there. As if the team playing well or poorly has any bearing on how many players get "injured" in a well functioning program. Would be curious to know what his readers thought of this serious bit of information...
  7. Herman positives: -Rarely got blown out. His teams covered more often than not. -Prefers a very physical style of play. -Good to decent recruiter and evaluator. -Raised talent level of the team. Negatives: -Arrogant and definitely rubbed people the wrong way. To me he same across as someone who has to constantly prove how smart he is. -Plays extremely conservative with a lead. Will take his foot off the pedal too early, resulting in close games that should not be that close. Or outright Ls. -Ineffective and meatheaded motivational techniques. E.g. kissing, burnt toast etc. -Stubborn playcalling and player selection. Eg not playing bijan last year. -Would not fire his assistants until he absolutely was made to. -I think his rolodex is small i.e. the number of well established assistants that are willing to work with him is limited. -Cant recall any outstanding assistant hires that he made other than the RB coach. Overall i think he is a boom ot bust kinda coach who can be successful if he is in the right job and somehow lucks into good assistants.
  8. pevear and volokhonsky is a better translation.
  9. Scipio said in one of his recent podcasts that some mid level Belmont compliance swamp creatures are totally neutering NIL related actions. These people have have been here for decades and live in entirely different world.
  10. Hey@texifornia you're gonna kill dudes with all that uncut dope.
  11. Five and half year ago, Steve Sarkisian was fired by Southern California, a promising career derailed by alcoholism. The road back for Sark went thrown Alabama and the NFL and now he is a head coach again, taking at Texas. Sarkisian joins AP’s Ralph D. Russo to talk about his comeback and how recovery has made him a different, and he hopes better, coach. Then Richard Johnson of the Split Zone Duo podcast joins the show to breakdown what made Sark’s offense so good at Alabama and how the top college teams are trying to mimic the way NFL teams play offense. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/steve-sarkisians-road-to-texas/id1138957862?i=1000509447522

  14. The richest AD in the country but a janky ass podium and a fabric background from the 90s. Pathetic.
  15. An reasonable take on Sark in general and his network in particular (at the end).
  16. There was a barking carnival podcast for a couple of seasons with chilton and steven ross. I think that vibe woyld be perfect for surly podcast, without the constant giggling like 9yr old girls.
