  1. "Making fun of" is dbeasy putting an unexamined spin on the Aggie WR class versus the entirety of the Aggie 2025 transfer class, which was far more roundly mocked by us and the results of the season bear that out for anyone actually reviewing. But, yeah we were down on Concepcion as part of that. I was vocal about it, He'd had a poor season in 2024 at NCSU after being a freshman sensation in 2023. There were no known injuries. He just got worse. He averaged less than 10 ypc. So, it was weird seeing the aggies crow about it. No one had a strong opinion about Craver except that he was mostly a really fast guy with a lot to prove. Elko has been hit or miss in the portal, just like in recruiting. There is no evidence to point to him being some sort of elite evaluator. Last year, ATM landed: Concepcion - great pickup Craver - great pickup Amari Niblack - obvious waste of money even before they signed him Micah Hudson - known headcase and burgeoning bust Jonah Wilson - big bag of nothing Tyler Onyedim - highly regarded DT who did nothing against any team with a pulse Jordan Shaw - a spare DB they had to play TJ Searcy - show team hero who can play like a beast against shitty teams and then disappears against better opponents, all shit he did at UF as well Georgia DT named M'Pemba - did nothing at UGA and is doing nothing at ATM Jacob Zeno - lol Nate Boerkircher - solid TE pickup Auburn hyphen named TE - did nothing Dayon Hayes - non-entity Julian Humphrey - character issue bust at UGA, became a disappointment at ATM after they hyped him in the offseason. One cycle, 14 transfers in, 3 solid pickups, a couple of other guys that played, albeit either poorly, sparingly, or both, and a lot of bread. 3/14 is barely batting above the Mendoza line. I don't even think it is fair to lump sarvanaash in with a lot of these other dipshits who are persistently whining and negative. sarv at least appears to know football, have a sense of humor, and can intelligently defend his thinking. Some of these other guys are either idiots or just whiny drive-by shooters.
  2. The UGA OL coach is Stacy Searels, soooooooo. Also, might as well just go back to the Mackovic era and whoever the hell was coaching UT's OL then. Tim Nunez and Mac McWhorter can fuck right off with the other guys you named.
  3. "anybody at the skill positions" is a bridge too far. They had no interest in losing Townsend, Winston, Lacey, or Mosely. They made competitive offers to the freshmen WRs. No one is trying show M Terry the door.
  4. I get it, but the ground is shifting beneath everyone's feet here - fans, recruitniks, coaches, players, admins, writers, etc. You want it to be one way, but it is now the other. In the end, what we're really cheering for (Texas) and against (all enemies in other uniforms) is the name on the front of the jersey. I'm not close to cutting my allegiance in that regard, so I will do my due diligence in the offseason to understand my team and the landscape, same as it ever was, and then I will be watching and cheering happily for another season when it gets here. We're still a mostly captive audience. You speak for yourself when you say you'd take Smothers over Baugh. I wouldn't. Texas is going to need a Mr. Inside in some regard, and I doubt that's Terry. Cooper doesn't see himself in that light, either. But, if Texas lands Smothers, great, he's really good, and the other guys will have to embrace their roles. People offering concern about Clark leaving or apprehension with guys like Barnes and the like, their points are fine. Texas has already shown that they'd rather keep those guys than not. However, they're not going into 2026 relying on those guys to live up to long term expectations as starters. Texas, for all of the pissing and moaning on this thread, is pushing every chip in for this upcoming season. We can disagree with how they're going about it, but they're doing it irrespective of what handwringing dipshits here might think. They've had multiple guys on campus that have not been named. All announcing players does is drive up prices. They've landed their top target at CB and arguably the best one in the portal. We may not love the ST takes, but Texas signed their top target at all 3 positions. Texas didn't land the first guys they tried to get into the portal at RB, but they landed one of the best options that opted in and they're on the verge of landing another. They landed their top target at in-line TE. Top target at NT. They're fully aware that they need 2-3 more OLs. They've made an aggressive offer to the best overall non-QB in the portal in Cam Coleman. They're after big names at LB and S still. They are looking at their roster and actively upgrading for the following season. They're then going to work on retention with some guys who don't want to leave, but won't be ready for major roles in 2026. I remain a skeptic, but I will not be surprised if Texas comes out of the cycle smelling like a rose and upgraded across the board.
  5. Hat tip to @TejasPedro for the new title inspiration. The “great teammate” shit is debatable. By all accounts, Texas helped Moore pack this time around. I don’t think he’d be coming back unless maybe for free.
  6. It should be pretty easy to look up when classes start at Bama. I mean, I’m not doing it, but someone could. It seems way too early for Bama to be in session.
  7. Oh, wow, so you’re telling me you would take both Cam Coleman and Dakorian Moore if you could? No shit?
  8. Or maybe Owens was always a spare. What the fuck is all of this hypothetical trash? The guy was a mildly recruited low 4 star who came to Texas to be a backup and get a degree. Somewhere along the way, he became convinced he was something other than that and he became a bitch. He is at Arkansas State because he’s not very good, not because Texas blackballed him to other schools. Good fucking lord. Come on, man.
  9. There has been a rumor about Moore & Texas circulating since Thanksgiving. I will stick my mantra regarding this cycle - I’m from Missouri on that one. Heard too much bullshit just like it in each of the last 3 cycles. I enjoy it, but I am a talent acquisition junkie. Roster management is always interesting, even when the way it is impacted shifts. As I wrote earlier this week, I definitely think recruiting is about to change in fascinating and potentially crushing ways. The Texas money is already taking the position that the guys getting money before they’ve shown college bonafides are a very limited set of “sure things” each cycle. That’s going to be a range of 3-10 each cycle and the rest of the recruits will be purely developmental evaluations. Should actually be pretty interesting in terms of how each school starts prioritizing.
  10. If this asshole is wrong again, I vote that we riot and show up at his house around 10pm tonight in fucking Conroe and blare airhorns by his toddlers' windows. Just do mean shit to defenseless, tiny humans in order to teach Temu Tom Herman a life lesson.
  11. Texas isn't paying Raleek Brown $1M. I don't care if his camp keeps saying it, but let's keep it clean on this thread for the purposes of the non-clowns knowing what's going on in this miasma of depravity, nonsense, and oneupsmanship.
  12. He sat the bench on a title team and is now retroactively, with the help of the ever scrupulous Ole Miss and Tom Mars, trying to claim he was sick and couldn't play. He also doesn't have any documentation. This is someone attempting to throw the one thing out that everyone wants to keep - some semblance of an eligibility guard rail. Pavia fucked everyone by getting the Juco rules waived. The NCAA screwed the pooch with the corona year. No one wants to see the 5 years to play 4 rule go away. If Chambliss wins this, and this is one that the NCAA isn't guaranteed to lose, then we will see 30 year olds playing. At that point, just cut the scholarships and school ties from the teams and start over. You came close to getting something right here. Townsend and Winston looked good and neither looked fat or overweight. Townsend, of course, wasn't on campus until June. I thought we whiffed on not getting this guy last year. He's good when the QB is at least functional. Sucks he's going to Florida.
  13. The guy has literally played 4 full seasons of NCAA football.
  14. Comparing Brown to Blue is as off as the color comparison would be. Brown is a smaller back, but he can be effective between the tackles, if forced to be, just the same as Haynes. That isn't where you want either of them, however. Marshall carried that load and then Kudzal tried to when Marshall got hurt. They didn't want Haynes doing much of it. For the most part, they just wanted Haynes streaking down the field, usually going off tackle or completely wide. As for Blue, that dude had no interest in running between the tackles at all and usually fumbled when he did. Brown isn't like that. The market for top of the line RBs in this portal is short of $1M. I do not buy for one second that someone will pay an injured Justice Haynes 2x or 3x of that. You guys should use some critical thinking skills and look beyond what a player's agent is floating out there. Maybe Baugh and Isaac Brown got $1M to stick with where they were, but I doubt it was much more than that.
  15. Texas already landed a better version of Justice Haynes. His name is Raleek Brown. I know it’s been like 24 hours and all, but for fuck’s sake, guys. Haynes can’t stay healthy and doesn’t spend much time between the tackles. We don’t need lightning and gimpy lightning. We need lightning and thunder. Does anyone know where the bigger back for UF ended up? It’s clear he’s not coming to Texas for whatever reason, but he’s more of what Texas should be chasing.
