  1. There are a few threads on the football board more germane to the McCarthy "is he good or does he suck?" debate than this thread if you're interested. Some people apparently really think he's awesome and most expect him to declare. I don't really have a strong opinion about McCarthy as a pro QB at the moment, personally. He has the measurables that the NFL will value. However, I didn't see much in college that made me think "that dude will kill it at the next level".
  2. People can either dismiss what I typed and assume I am a know-nothing dipshit, or they can assume I know what I'm talking about and wouldn't post what I posted unless I had a pretty good source on it. Either way is fine by me, but I'm not going further into the subject. Davis going to Bama would be somewhat mindblowing. Davis going to LSU wouldn't surprise me in the least and he'd have zero problems getting through compliance there, or SEC approvals, should those actually be a thing.
  3. There are substantial problems associated with Davis returning to Bama. Saban would have to be really desperate to cash in the chips needed for that. Not saying it couldn't happen, just saying it would be kind of amazing.
  4. The problem for Michigan is that they're facing a damned near total rebuild of their starting 22. If McCarthy declares, and I assume he will, they have like 4 returning starters, total. Paying big for a TB transfer wouldn't make a bunch of sense if that is the case. I think FSU is in a similar place.
  5. Either reason seems reasonable and more likely than the dude just deciding he'd test the waters. There are multiple playoff aspirants in need of a serious running threat, so I'm leaning with the notion that he knows where he's going and he's getting paid.
  6. Joe Rogan? I guess I would need to follow this stuff more closely to know why he matters here. I thought this was a Rodgers/Kimmel thing? In any event, since you brought him up, I don’t know if Rogan was on The Man Show or not. Never watched it. I do know that he was funny on News Radio and not funny with his stand up. I know he triggers people on the left because he doesn’t toe lines on his podcast or whatever. I also know that people taking their cues from him or finding validation in their thoughts from him are as sure a sign of the apocalypse as all of the idiots taking their cues from Kimmel or the other mediocre comics who are suddenly today’s Cronkites on late night tv. I generally and genuinely despise all of it.
  7. Saban was supposedly weighing chopping him, but he was already dealing with more staff turnover than he cared for and the guy got a stay of execution.
  8. He’s either a troll or an idiot who doesn’t understand context. I don’t care either way and put the dipshit on ignore. I should have done it when he attempted to tell us that NIL would never displace the bag game and that Texas was failing with NIL compared to the competition.
  9. Sir, the same cannot be claimed about Charleston. That's like hate speech or something.
  10. Hell, we might have been at both places at the same time. We had Cochon on Monday for brunch. I had the cochon, which was pork neck that day, grilled oysters, and chicken gumbo. My wife had the meat pie, then redfish. It was excellent. On NYE, we ate at GW Fins. I had the tuna tartar and then the tuna entree with zero regrets. Wife had lobster dumplings and then their blackened fish, think it was also redfish. That place is so fucking good. We did 4 nights in Vegas a few weeks and that was too much for my wife and probably too much for me. We did two nights in NOLA and that was perfect.
  11. There is not a single member of that coaching staff that I would want to see on a staff for Texas. Elko as a DC? Maybe. That's it. Making matters more absurd/worse is that this coaching staff is chock full of off the field problems. It's not as bad as what Fisher hired, but they have: -A guy who was suspended for buying a stolen playbook from an opponent -A guy directly blamed for fomenting the hazing rituals and culture at Northwestern -A guy caught on camera trying to stick his fist up the ass of a helpless opponent at the bottom of a dogpile -One of the most notorious bagmen during the slave trading era of the late aughts/early 2010s who had been relegated to CFB backwaters in the aftermath of that fallout (Taylor couldn't get a gig for a bit after leaving Auburn and then was only able to get gigs at Arkansas State and then Duke when he did resurface) -A dude who has had like 11 jobs in 13 years
  12. I clicked on this thread out of curiosity. Not sure why I do most of the stupid shit I do, but whatever. Anyway, in reading this page and seeing the vitriol for two unimpressive celebrities, I assume this is a left vs. right thing. What's bizarre is that any self-respecting longhorn fan would ever defend Aaron Rogers on much of anything. And with Jimmy Kimmel, it's a sign of how far the collective intellect of this country has fallen when the least funny imbecile from The Man Show and Crank Yankers is taken seriously as a political commentator.
  13. The guy is a child raping piece of shit who should be castrated. Also, one of his songs came on one of my channels last night and they're still pretty solid.
  14. My favorite part of reading the aggie shit on here is how quickly they get aggressively excited about a new player or coach. It's like they get a blind optimism adrenaline shot and it freezes in their brain until said player or coach leaves the team. Jimbo is our man! ... Fuck Jimbo Fisher!! ... The Elk is not bucking around !! ...??? We got Denver Harris! A true victory over tu! ... Fuck Denver Harris! ... Welcome back Denver Harris!! It's like this over and over again. I am a simple pushover every time in that it always entertains.
  15. I am entertained by your slavish adherence to your bit, but posts like this are so over the top that they're almost unfair.
  16. The $9.95ers constantly fall into various echo chamber traps that they all wind up repeating mercilessly. One of those is that there is actually no such thing as a true tackle prospect. Every tackle prospect will probably wind up at guard. Yet somehow, two tackles are fielded per team every week during the college football season, and some of them are very good. A second one is similar, although it is newer, and that is the subtle notion that no CB above 5'9" or weighing more than 180 lbs is actually going to be a real CB. They're all going to spin to NB or S. Kobe Black has been hawt-taked into this premise at warp speed. In October, he was a 5 star CB. Now that he's visited some more places and been measured after his senior season, he's a 4 star Safety. We'll see, said the zen master. They are going to take a TE. When Stewart actually entered the portal, some folks were told that Texas "has bigger plans" at WR. I don't know what that really means, but I took it as a good thing. I'm still waiting to understand it, however.
  17. What evidence do we have that Wiggins is a good recruiter? I was looking awhile back at the Bama WR classes since 2020 and did not find any group particularly compelling. Saban was willing to let him join Sarkisian's staff in 2021 and then mulled pushing him out after last season. He left this cycle because he needed to do so. Being able to recruit well at Bama, for WR, recently under Saban, should be as easy as running over BO&W on this board. If you want to see a great example in a microcosm of what I've been talking about regarding the recruiting rankings and the actual value associated to recent Bama classes, take a look at the WR groups from 2020 forward. The 2021 is the funniest one. There were some really big names in that group and they're all basically dogshit. It reminds me of what Drew Meh was doing under Herman at Texas. Holmon Wiggins is ATM's Drew Mehringer. It's pretty awesome.
  18. I read this in the voice of V from V for Vendetta and it really makes it pop.
  19. Listen, I’m not going to go nuts on you like many posters do, justifiably, because of your affiliation with Obloods. That considered, I think part of what drives people nuts with your posting behavior is the way you play stupid and hem and haw with what you relay or ask about the $9.95ers. You “could [have] sworn” is bullshit. Did Bobby say Texas was probably not pursuing Humphrey or did he not say that? Own the position or don’t post it.
  20. Can you shut the fuck up with the Julian Humphrey handwringing? Christ. The staff didn’t give a fuck that he was leaving. We shouldn’t give a fuck that he’s left, either.
  21. I’ve written a bunch on Blue throughout this season. If it is important enough for you to think you’re calling me out, it’s probably important enough for you to do a search and read those posts. As to the notion of a callout, the guy declared for the portal last December. Texas told him to feel free to enter it, but he wasn’t coming back. No one reached out with glorious NIL offers after he announced, so he never filled out the paperwork and decided to stay put. That shit is all public. So what in the fuck do you think you’re calling out anyway?
  22. That piece of shit assclown ran the length of the field doing the horns down. He seemed really smart.
  23. It’s whatever fantasy anyone wants to craft until spring practice, because unless he or the staff say much, everyone is guessing.
  24. It’s more than that. Cooper wasn’t a bad tenure other than not beating Michigan much. He had a very high winning percentage. They’ve had like 12 losing seasons since 1900. It’s the luckiest run of coaching hires in the history of the sport. To say that Ohio State is “due” is absolutely correct, but I’ve come to grips with the notion that they must have cut some sort of institutional deal with the devil and they will simply never have a bad extended period like the rest of the programs in the sport.
  25. It’s not “copium” when it is discussed ahead of the guy ever making a commitment decision at a time when the $9.95ers were telling us that Texas leads. That “word” is dorky social media shit in the first place and you didn’t even use it here correctly when you felt the need to insert it. Anyone can play well for a weekend. The list of camp heroes who don’t love football who then flameout in college is long. Allegedly, Bo Davis was never high on the recruit. The mother admonished him about his rant on the bus at ISU that helped save Sarkisian’s regime and asked if that was going to be the attitude in which Davis managed her sweet boy while at practice. She’s in education and had her son stay back and not graduate early so he could have a full final year with mommy. He didn’t destroy opponents during his senior year. If the guy winds up crushing it at LSU and having a big NFL career, you and a bunch of posters who never post shit on the recruiting board until they can tell us we were wrong and meanies for being wrong can come on here and tell us as much. If the guy winds up at Texas, I stand by my view. I expect him to be somewhere between a bust and an average college DT wherever he winds up. That isn’t worth a 5 star ranking or any NIL.
