  1. My computer kept locking up. I went to Microsoft's offices in order to get one of the IT people to fix it.
  2. Here is an unintentionally hilarious article from Tarp on ATM's output facing top 10 teams on the road over the past 50 years. Highlights: -They've won 4 games on the road versus top 10 opponents since 1975. PSU in 1979 (PSU finished 8-4), Bama in 2012 with Manziel (Bama repeated for the title that season), South Carolina in 2014 (they finished unranked, 7-6) and Auburn 2014 (finished 8-5). That's it. That's the list. -He talks about the problem usually partly being ATM's own internal foibles leading to their demise, which is surprisingly self-aware. -He sounds closer to cutting himself than normal before a big game. I heard Liucci on SEC radio this morning talking about ATM surprising the country with a comfortable win tomorrow, so these folks are all over the map right now.
  3. I can't remember whether it was Herbstreit or someone else, but I laughed when they explained that Gameday was headed to Morgantown until WVU fumbled it with the loss to Ohio. I don't know why, but I enjoy rooting against WVU. Dick Rod being there makes that even easier. I've even visited Morgantown for a Texas win and enjoyed it, horns down coping from them and all. Maybe it's just the ease of generally rooting against the Big 12 and enjoying pointing and laughing at all of them.
  4. It's almost a certainty that they can't.
  5. The comments on the aggies from the national media reflect a group of people who have not watched them play yet. I think there’s just been a bunch of box scoring reading and highlight sampling.
  6. Why is there a fully equipped football player walking across a runway?
  7. You’ve made good choices. MF Sushi is excellent as a choice.
  8. Well, Fud is very German, so it happens.
  9. Joly is a really good TE. Obvious, but I hadn’t really watched him until this game.
  10. That statement is “I’m open to offers in the offseason, SEC. Y’all overlooked me because I’m 5’6”. “
  11. “knowing what to do” apparently includes not touching another fucking human being on running plays unless they are grabbing your fat 370 pound ass and throwing you sideways while people cackle.
  12. That little Barnes dude looks like he can flat out fly.
  13. Agreed. One thing this post reminds me of about the place is that the rooms and the bar are nice. The pool experience is the really grim part.
  14. Your Clark comment is bullshit.
  15. That is pretty damned funny.
  16. I’m actually rooting for you to ignore my input and go anyway and then report back. It cannot be as bad as it was when I was there, but maybe we’ll get lucky.
  17. I’ve watched some more clips of Stroh. I think I might be going a little crazy or something. I am trying to figure out how this guy is actually on the field, under any circumstances. Is this some sort of performance art that Flood is in on? Does Stroh honestly have pictures of members of the staff in compromising positions? A straightforward “he’s the best guy in practice” cannot be a legitimate argument. I cannot believe that.
  18. We had several things happening on Memorial Day weekend that anchored us to staying in town that weekend. So my wife had the bright idea, which I agreed with, to get rooms at the Marriott Marquis so the kids could feel like they were getting away when we weren't trekking to tournaments of various sorts. Turns out, the place sells passes to the pool to people who aren't staying there. If you like tatted up, vaping, pot-smoking thugged out shitheads and their fat women in string bikinis, with a combo of rap/tejano/new country blaring at 130 decibels, this place is for you. Also, expect to wait roughly 30 minutes for a drink, whether in line at the bar or with a server. We witnessed two of the stereotypical black on black girl fights I normally only see on Twitter in the cruise videos. The whole thing was pure class the whole way around. We left early and were home across town by Sunday and took the kids to do other shit for fun the rest of the holiday. I could not tell anyone more fervently to stay the fuck away from that place if you aren't a desperate fatty chaser in your 40's-50's looking for broads who won't cost you much when you have to take them out to dinner at McDonald's or Jack In The Box, even if they order the right side of the menu and go back for seconds, while undoubtedly calling someone else's kid in line a motherfucker and yanking the hair of the cashier when she gets lippy about not giving your girl her soda refill.
  19. Texas was down in the 3rd by like 8 points and I had a kid wanting help with something so I said "well, this looks fucked", turned the tv off and went to do parenting stuff. I'm absolutely stunned Texas won that match. This team looks awesome.
  20. The Elk was on College Sports Today on XM 84 for an interview last week. He's one of those guys that actually sounds fat. I tuned in mid-interview and listened for a minute and thought "who is this fat ass? is this Elko?" and then I listened to him breathe heavily and felt certain. He wasn't a bad interview, just a really fat one.
  21. Good thread as always. There's not a great place for a weekly potpourri and I don't feel like starting a thread on it, but here are things I've read or found interesting heading into this weekend:
  22. You guys are talking across one another. "Grasping the offense" for a WR is as much understanding the playcalls and route options as anything. A DC doesn't have to know a fucking thing about offensive nomenclature or route options to craft a strategy that puts an OC's plan at risk. It's funny you mention this because I looked into what it would take to outsource crowdsourcing you a few weeks ago. It turns out, India isn't as inexpensive for that kind of work as it once was.
  23. The *problem* here is that Sam Houston State is bad on another level of bad. When Keeler left abruptly, they were wiped out both with the portal and the recruiting class. This team has a good to great shot of going 0-12. They've already lost to juggernauts WKU, UNLV, and Hawaii. They've still got NMSU, Delaware, FIU, UTEP and MTSU on the schedule, and yeah, 0-12 has a great shot anyway. Grim.
  24. The guy's amassed that many posts over a 7.5 year timespan. Who are you, the Andy Dufresne of neg reppers? RIP Sgt Hulk in 2033!
  25. New LB target, per Gerry: Braylon Hodge update Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen extended an offer to Michigan State verbal Braylon Hodge(Denver/Cherry Creek) Wednesday night. OnTexasFootball exchanged messages with the 6-3, 215-pounder since the offer was made, both last night and this morning. The Thursday AM update is the scheduling of visits to Texas being ironed out. Per Hodge this morning, September 20 will be a UOV if that one gets locked in. A November official visit is also being discussed, and is very likely. Both Texas and Michigan offered Wednesday.
