  1. The issue should be whether the parents/dad was negligent, not whether he bought the kid a gun. I have purchased guns for my minor children. The guns are unloaded, cable locked, and in my sole custody unless we are going to the range, in which case they remain locked until we get in a lane and I hand out keys. That's responsible gun ownership. But buying a gun and handing it over to a kid, especially one with mental health problems, is negligence. There's a difference.
  2. I can understand how a drunk on Rainey could wander into the brush to pee and fall in the water. Not saying that's what was happening, but it's one logical explanation. But the Utah guy in the video says they were at bars on 6th. That's at least a 6 block hike to the water, maybe longer (if he went east/west as well). How and why does an out of town guy get from 6th to town lake and fall in?
  3. I gotta admit, I was skeptical from the description, but that app is pretty fucking cool. I immediately saw a bunch of stuff I want to read from all over the web. It's like it pulls the most interesting stuff and puts it all in one place.
  4. Finished Fairy Tale yesterday and loved it. King is the GOAT storyteller, and I like how he merges themes found in so many classic fantasy novels. Here are some of the themes and the books of which they reminded me: Great book, would recommend.
  5. They talk like this guy in a top 35-50 player who only needs to have a good fall to jump up to a 5*. In reality, he's a 3* on 247 and a low 4* on the composite.
  6. Yes but they were not blue collar lunch pail guys with a chip on their shoulder!
  7. Spiteful Egotistical Crybabies: The SEC screenshot megathread
  8. The situation with Saban will force a change, but not in the rules. It will change the timing of firings and retirements so that a school is less likely to get worked over like this. The problem is not with allowing transfers after a coaching change. The problem is Saban retiring as the portal window was closing.
  9. There would probably be a fight about whether the court should seal the contract, but that would be an uphill battle in Texas state court, especially with statewide media organizations wanting to see the contract.
  10. I'd love to see Nolan take the money and run. Would aggy or its collective really sue? If so, the optics would be terrible for a&m. Talk about negative recruiting -- "they'll sue if you try to leave." Plus we might get the NIL contract in the public record.
  11. They're also conveniently ignoring on3's transfer rankings, which balance outgoing transfers against incoming ones. On that metric, they've been decimated by having to recruit bread to replace blue chip talent.
  12. They cropped out the part showing that their class is nearly ALL BREAD. Let's see the rest...
  13. "Texas Aggies United" What is a "Texas Aggie?" It's been a while since I graduated from Texas, but I don't remember this student organization.
  14. My response when aggy says Texas cannot handle the weekly grind of the SEC:
  15. Pretty please Ross, fire Ryan Day and hire Jimbo.
  16. I'm not so sure, he's been on a hot streak pulling in backup fcs players from the portal.
  17. Good point, he hired Charlie, which is where we really went off the tracks, but yeah that wasn't 12 years ago.
