  1. X's hate O's. The O's hate the X's. Been that way all my life but I understand, the struggle is real. Actually work for a living a couple of days in a row and miss the weeping Marine meltdown. Life just isn't fair. (seems appropriate to say that here)
  2. 'Pokes just need to harass and crash the glass as much as they can and get fast points. I don't think they have much of a chance at a slower paced game against Baylor.
  3. Seems like she's been a bit of a couch camper her own self.
  4. Chicken is like the shrimp of the prairie.
  5. A loop looks a lot like a noose if you stare at it too long.
  6. Thanks. The zoo hours are such that the only time you can get anything even approaching golden hour lighting is during the winter near the solstice right before the 5 o'clock closing. Also the way that the place is laid out/oriented it just doesn't lend itself to good natural light photos. If I get a chance I'll try some of the lion exhibit soon. I noticed this past week that the lions are spending some time in the sun late in the day but the direction of the light is more directly behind them and so a bit tricky.
  7. Has she ever actually owned a home in her district or did she just marry into one?
  8. Saw a blurb about a new coffee shop to open later this year, "Bitty and Beau's". What makes this shop unique is their hiring practices - they target those who might qualify for the Special Olympics. While I will try to not take any jabs at the 'tards cause they can't help that I will say that by choosing Waco they picked a prime location for their establishment. And maybe it's just me but it seems like a high percentage of the Downsy chicks have big knockers.
  9. We had a hunter/jumper event scheduled for this weekend here in Waco but looking at the Extraco Events Center website it's no longer on there. A hell of a lot of shows canceled this year due to the COVID. Breed shows are pretty boring to me but I do get a kick out of all the folks duded up like Porter Waggoner.
  10. @Patricio Swayze this conversation made me think of your recent endeavors in book publishing. First 40 minutes or so are about the guests business bio but the conversation turns more to the nuts and bolts of getting published by niche companies doing smaller runs of books. MinorMatters, this lady's company, has a business model where they do not print unless/until they have 500 presales. Anyway, if you've got some time to sit and watch/listen to some folks talk about photography books and publishing, I found it interesting.
  11. The Zags schedule favors them, I'm not sure they have a real test on their schedule.
  12. I was thinking WPRA did tiedown, might be wrong on that. They do women's team roping for sure.
  13. Baylor and WVU have rescheduled for I think Feb. 18th (Thursday) with a 4 pm tip in Waco. That's the same week that the Bears play in Morgantown (Monday game). BU/UT game still up in the air afaik.
  14. A few more from the zoo. There's an elevated observation platform at the giraffe exhibit and underneath that is a vending machine area. Normally this area is blocked from a view of the giraffes by trees but now with a lot of the trees being bare I noticed a small viewing port. So some giraffe paparazzo/creeper style photos and one of what looks to be a giraffe with a giraffe growing out of his ass.
  15. It's handy if you're doing creeper pics. A friend told me that. Anyway, typical Sunday at the zoo and you know what that means. Buzzards.
  16. I like to shoot horses so thread has some interest for me. @ROFL BOX the Gulf Coast Paint Horse show is in Waco this weekend, haven't been but may go today for a while. Texas Circuit Finals was in town a week or so ago and rodeo events are among my favorites. Anyway, this is some buckaroo.
  17. Open up relations with Cuba completely. And by completely I mean cigars.
  18. what we need is a barren, isolated convict island. Call it Oklahoma.
  19. I like DeMaria's chili powder dippin' "sauce" with the Nemechek ring baloney and a big hunk of medium cheddar cheese.
  20. She's a tackling dummy, of sorts as well as my personal "roaming gnome". A meme if you will. No real point I guess other than "she" provides a ready subject when there's none available. As a complete amateur and being effectively home bound by the combination of my eyesight (legally blind, don't drive) and the pandemic I shoot just to be shooting a good bit. On this particular occasion the rare snow presented something new. The immediate area where I live (that within short/safe walking distance (have to remember that the footing was obscured by snow)) didn't really present anything noteworthy but the kid in me wanted to get out. The effect of the cold on batteries, the moisture/condensation on the gear when you come back inside were all new to me. I'd never played photographer in the snow before (explaining this particular day) so the whole thing was a bit of an experiment. I took quite a few other shots, most all for my own education. Posted this one because, why not? The main thing I took away from this excursion was don't always trust your light meter. I did run across this dog while I was out.
  21. Been reading a good bit of Hunter S Thompson lately. Mostly collections of his journalistic efforts with various magazines during/from his campaign trail days. No CR, the things we're seeing today have all been done before. In a way it's sad but comforting.
  22. Thanks. So improvements means either scroll to top or bottom of page.
  23. How often does ATXCC meet and how long before she can't make it to a CC fandango?
  24. Couldn't pass up a chance to play in a rare snow.
  25. What's the difference between the Rolling Stones and a Scotsman? The Stones sing "Hey, hey you, get off of my cloud" and a Scotsman says "Hey, hey McCloud, get off of my ewe"
