I’m alone on this but I found the whole “dad paying no attention while I save his ass then berating me for some pedantic thing” dynamic in Last Crusade really annoying. Don’t get me wrong, the movie was pretty good otherwise and I see why people think it’s the best one.
Raiders was so good my 11-year-old ass bought a whip from the SA flea market with saved-up money and practiced until I was actually competent with it. I asked for a fedora that Christmas and I still have it somewhere.
I’ve basically been chasing that high ever since-mostly unsuccessfully.
Jesus you people have nostalgia brain.
Espn’s “original” programming was a running joke for the pre-internet era. How many times a day could you watch Sportscenter and what else did you watch on the channel? The only other thing might have been Roy Firestone firing softball questions at some guy they were just happy to have on (which then ended up as 20 minutes of every Sportscenter for the next day or so).
In the 90s they showed Bodyshaping after 3 hours of live loop Sportscenter in the morning and that was the best back-to-back they had. Then more Sportscenter with new hosts reading the same script. That was it unless pre-recorded bowling or harness racing interrupted the pattern. Sonetimes they’d repackage Sportscenter clips into a sports-specific show.
Give a pass to their 80’s “figuring it out” I guess, but they really didn’t have a lot of “original” programming then and no one would argue that what they had was good.
I guess. Big Show was about the only thing I watched. Gameday was always cringey and was only on for about three months a year. That was all I ever cared for other than live sports - real ones, not darts and shit.
I don’t want to watch people yelling at each other about irrelevant shit, giving their dumbed-down first-grader analysis of plays, or giving up manufactured writer’s room “hot takes.” That and major indoor lacrosse, bowling or women’s billiards is all that ESPN has ever shown since the days when the logo was lowercase.
I mean Gameday for about 5 years and Sportscenter early on but nothing really else ever. Always sucked. Cold Pizza? Coors Light Cold Hard Facts? The judge shit?
The AC thing happened to us in Austin but the owner had set it up to do that automatically. After 2am it just wouldn’t go below 79. Miserable. Had another where they texted me asking us to stop closing the curtains during the day -I guess because it looked bad to them.
Thats kind of my issue. People are quirky and weird about their stuff. Hotels aren’t. The rules at a particular ABnB are often strange to the point of hilarity. Plus I still can’t shake the feeling that I am borrowing someone else’s house.
I have done it myself every year at one property and used a service for the other just to see. We both have had home runs, doubles and singles. No strikeouts. Always worth the trouble.
I am better at the complex one with more complicated issues. The service is better at the “what the actual fuck” 35% year-over across-the-neighborhood raises.
It’s funny. The two guys who run Twitter and Facebook are the answers to the question “Who’s a worse idea than Jack Dorsey for running a social network?”
I had a small two-room sauna/steamroom-shower in my master bath a few years ago. It was an infrared sauna, and it was fine - not as good as a traditional sauna but ok. I liked the steamroom better.
Got it from a company called wasauna which is apparently defunct.
The install was a fucking nightmare but the unit was surprisingly inexpensive.
