This was the answer I was looking for. Thanks for the legal clarification. LSU pays $20M for Kelly to go away, but that doesn't change or get offset in the event Kelly finds another high-paying HC job.
  2. Reference pages FR-97 and FR-98 of the linked 2025 NCAA Football Rule Book for a complete definition of Targeting. To search a PDF, open the file and use the "Find" command by pressing Ctrl+F (Windows) or Command+F (Mac). Type your search term into the box that appears and use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons to navigate the results. It's too long for me to post it here. tl/dr for most
  3. When you dive forward for additional yardage, it's not considered a "slide". Consequently, Arch wasn't a "defenseless player" by rule. The officials could've called the hit "unnecessary roughness", but targeting isn't appropriate for this play.

Okay, if Kelly agrees to a smaller buyout now - say $20M - does this renegotiated amount get reduced again if another program is dumb enough to pay a premium for his services? I also assume LSU didn't fire him "for cause" due to some obscure 'morality' clause. I'm just trying to understand how this works. Good to know Jimbo's fully guaranteed, no offset language deal with aggy is still the dumbest contract ever.

Why the hell would Kelly settle for $20m, unless LSU had a photo of him fucking a farm animal?
  6. Well, this SEC guy is fired up! 🔥 Fuck Vandy!!!
  7. You checked all the boxes on most of our lists

Hey, our receivers have talent. Our fastest just doesn't catch the ball when it hits him in the hands.
  9. But, does @lilMAC25 have the goddam common courtesy to do that?
  10. Didn't he get a nice raise a couple of years ago? I know Sark has doubled his annual base salary since he got here.

  14. Those of us who enjoyed the Shock the Nation tour in our senior year on The 40 will always believe. Vandy is just the next step
  15. Ye of no school spirit. Of course, we had a stupid Texas! Fight! thread for MSU.
  16. Diego Pavia, from New Mexico, is Italian?
  17. I remember that play, and I asked my buddy, "Why the fuck are we lined up 8 yards off the receivers?"
  18. Woodward doesn't have the authority to offer these deals without the approval of the LSU and aggy administration. It's a collective fuck-up, but it sure makes him look stupid. Kelly was the worst hire of the two, IMO. Terrible cultural fit. Maybe he'll hire Jimbo for LSU?
