  1. We had a great experience with them last year Dallas to Cancun. I paid $20-30 extra for exit row seat and had huge amount of legroom. Seems like a budget airline so no one else bought exit row seats there or back, so we had the whole row. Would use them again
  2. I need some help here as well. My 16 yo loves Phoebe Bridgers and I’ve loved modest mouse for a long time so I said let’s do it. Last time I went was 15 years ago and I said I was too old at that point. Do most people bring chairs or blankets to hang out on when not watching acts? Is the food and drink really marked honor is it reasonable? Any tips for marking your space and holding it?
  3. We will be at our first all inclusive next month. So you give a $20 after the first drink, what do you give after that for your other drinks that day?
  4. Museum of science and industry is great. Not sure about post COVID but it used to be very interactive. They have a German u boat as well. If you read the book The Devil in the White City it makes the museum even cooler. As I believe the science and industry museum is still the only building remaining from the Worlds fair in 1893.
  5. I’ve been using Fender play for about a month and just have a cheap acoustic guitar. I would like to learn electric as well. My brother in law is super into guitars and his recommendation was to get a fender Strat player ($699) series that was made in Mexico. I’ve seen different opinions about buying the best guitar you can afford vs buying a cheap Squier Strat. However I’ve also seen some cheap Squier Strat affinity series for $180. If I buy a fender Strat and don’t end up doing much with it, does it hold its value well? Or should I just get the Squier and see where that takes me? I do have a few kids who might get Into guitar. So if the Fender Strat will last, I don’t mind paying for quality.
  6. Ikon came out with its Covid policy for 19-20 ikon pass holders. Looks like they doubled the discount to $200 for full pass renewals. So $799 for early renewal instead of $899. They also extended the renewal deadline until May 26. Apparently the pass insurance doesn’t cover you if the resorts still don’t open up though next winter.
  7. FYI. Sun and ski is having a pretty good sale on gear if you want to stock up for next year. Ordered some Smith I/o goggles that came out less than $100 after the sale and coupon on their site.
  8. It’ll be interesting to see if the Ikon pass or Epic pass gives any discounts or partial refund for the ski resorts closing. I got my money’s worth this year but from Ikons Facebook page, I think they are working on something in terms of appeasing unhappy pass holders.
  9. Touché. Unfortunately all dictated by kids school calendars but I was hoping the further away from Texas, we might avoid some of the spring break madness. Snowmass wasn’t bad at all during Presidents’ Day weekend even though that’s supposedly a busy time.
  10. Steamboat is the opposite. We came again after first visiting at New Years. I was hoping the longer lift lines and congested runs were just the New Years/Christmas crowd. I was wrong
  11. Seems like my channels that I listen to regularly stay in, but if I switch to a channel that I don’t listen to often the signal cuts out terribly. Anyone else notice that?
  12. When is the last time the Astros had someone charge the mound? I’ve been a fan a long time and don’t think I can recall once.
  13. I love my Swany x-cell gloves. I didn’t think I could ever justify paying $130 (when I bought them) for gloves but once I put my hands in them I had no problem paying. Haven’t had cold hands on the slopes in many years and most people who shake my hand comment on my naturally cold hands. I bought new Columbia pants that cost $60 or so and the first trip was a success. So far I’ve haven’t been able to justify the expensive pants but we will see how long these hold up. My magellen (academy house brand) pants lasted 7 years before their first rip. However I do only get 3-4 ski days a year.
  14. On the ESPN ticker in Baylor-OSU game, they are showing results from a poll of fans that say that the majority of fans want individual players punished and 53% of people support stripping the title and 50% want the Red Sox title stripped. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen nonsense like that on the ticker.
  15. A lot of variables. Found a great deal at Aspen last year and speness than 3k for four days skiing and four nights in 3bd condo. Got an ikon pass for everyone, so I'm already 3k in the hole just on lift tickets. I've got two trips with the family planned and two without them.
  16. Wolf Creek in Southwest Colorado is a good size ski area but still affordable. Its really expensive to do lessons at the larger resorts. We are leaving for Steamboat today with our five kids. Oldest son wants to try snowboarding but I told him we will likely learn at a different trip/mountain where the lessons are more affordable.
  17. Do not go to franks noodle house to watch a football game.
  18. If you were a Texan and only went up once or twice a year, would you bother with snow tires or just not go through any passes if the weather is bad? I think next suburban I’ll buy will be 4wd but my current one is rwd.
  19. Yes, any of those rough in sizes you mentioned would work. It’s just a matter of how much space do you want between the tank and wall on if you go 14, 12, or 10. I doubt you’d want to go 10 since you have a good size space.
  20. Saw some people using Nacho Cheese Doritos to dip into queso. That's not a thing is it?
  21. Been happy with Youtube TV for sports. Don't really watch anything else.
  22. This topic always makes me nervous as we travel up there to ski once a year. I've got five kids in the car and want to be safe but never need 4wd down here ever. I bought new michelin ltx m/s (which aren't technically snow tires but get good reviews in snow). I haven't had any issues yet as the weather has been fine anytime we've gone. I did buy some z-coils to put on the tires if needed. What should is Texans do for the one trip a year? Dedicated snow tires? 4Wd? Chains?
  23. I have an older home and would love to keep my old toilets that use a ton of water. So far in three years we haven't had anyone clog it. Our previous house that had new 1.28 gallons per flush routinely got clogged. The last toilet I got was Toto drake 1.6 gpf but it had to ship from somewhere outside Texas because Texas only allows 1.28 gpf.
  24. I wonder if the Astros put too much into this stuff. Like in game 6, when Strausburg was tipping his pitches and we hit him a little in the first inning but then he fixed it and we looked completely lost the rest of the game. If we are so focused on picking up the tell and it's not there, then we aren't mentally ready to hit. Having said that I watched an umpires cam view point of Cole throwing and it looks impossible to hit. So i would look for any advantage as well.
  25. Seems like you would just need to have someone watching the normal feed in the dugout and you’d figure some stuff out.
