  1. Speaking of winter, do y'all drip your faucets when the temperature drops below freezing?
  2. Need some help from the surly hivemind: we're doing a family trip to Rome in December. My parents (in their 70s), my son (17 years old), and I want to go to a Roma match at Stadio Olimpico. Is there anything I need to know before going? I see some good seats on stubhub. Is it just as easy as buying them and downloading the tickets like I would for an American sporting event? My parents are still very spry and active. They go to every LSU home football game (and several away games) so they're used to stadium walks, stairs, big crowds, etc. Is there anything I should be concerned about with them and accessibility?
  3. Yeah, I'm not buying any of that. Hooker and a mad pimp is my working theory.
  4. Do we know if Vance will be at the game today? Does he bring the same curse as the Cancun Cooler? We can only hope so.
  5. From my living room recliner where I'm drinking coffee and thinking about buckeye destruction: FFFFIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. This. I've been waiting a long time for this weekend and I don't need all the games canceled because of some "This is a time for reflection, not for sports" bullshit. They need to postpone the announcement until at least the end of the LSU-Clemson game tonight. Although I wouldn't mind if reports start leaking in say the early 3rd quarter. That could lead to some fun times refreshing this thread while watching the end of the game.
  7. Bon Aire has great crowds on game day as well. The Tavern is my go-to spot. My wife and I were talking about it and I think we went there for the 2005 Ohio St game and for the Rose Bowl. I guess I should go there tomorrow to repeat the 2005 magic.
  8. Yes. Doris Burke! Bumping her down and leaving Richard Jefferson there is ridiculous.
  9. Great cast, but I wasn't impressed by the trailer. I hope I'm wrong, but it feels like they spent their whole budget on A-list stars and forgot about a plot and a script.
  10. I'm surprised they're doing a Naked Gun spin-off movie with that title. I figured all the OJ stuff kinda ruined that character.
  11. I'll miss their podcasts, because he was the only one that would call Simmons out on his bullshit. Every other guest would say, "Yes, Bill, I agree that Robert Parrish is in the Top Nine Centers in NBA History and yes, How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days is in the Top Six Rom-Doms That Came out From 2002-2006." And Bill kept Russillo's Barstool tendencies from coming out.
  12. I might take you up on that if I can't get Telemundo.
  13. Oh that's a good idea. I need to double-check I can get Telemundo with my rabbit ears, but that plan should work.
  14. Question for the brain trust: With the stand-off between Fox and YTTV, I'm thinking about dropping YTTV for the streaming ESPN/Fox combo. I figured I would be covered for Premier League games because I already have Peacock. But are the EPL games that are shown on USA and NBC also shown on Peacock? I always assumed they were, but now I am hearing that they aren't. So if you want to watch the major matches this week, you have to have cable or a streaming package like YTTV or Hulu?
  15. Ha ha, you are right. I do not care about the big Purdue/Western Illinois tilt. But that does suck about the Sling daily pass.
  16. I want to thank the happy couple for announcing this before my fantasy football draft. I'm staying far away from him this year. His numbers were way down last year and they're only going to be worse this year with all the wedding stuff.
  17. My first thought was, "I really don't want Rupert Murdoch to have any more of my money, but I really want to watch football." Then I went to the Fox streaming site and I see Greg Gutfield's and Tom Brady's faces and I realized, "Maybe I don't need FS1 that badly." So if I put up some rabbit ears to get the main Fox station, what would I be missing without FS1 and 2? I looked at the college football schedule and there's no big games on either station for the first couple of weeks. If there is a big game, I might get the Sling one-day pass. I do want to watch the MLB playoffs, so maybe I'll get the Fox stream for just October.
  18. And it looks a lot better than the compressed signal you get from streaming. This is my plan for Saturday. After that, I might just get the ESPN bundle and drop YTTV. Fox has their own new bundle for $20/month. I might do that or just do the one-day Sling pass if there's a game I want to watch on FS1.
