Many had major reservations about him being hired, but he did perform fairly well in an interim role:
22-8 (Beard Started 7-1)
Big 12 Conf Tourney Champ
Elite 8
Without the postseason run, he likely does not get hired. Texas was 19-4 at one point and closed out the regular season at 23-8, losing its last 4 road games.
The biggest concerns were roster construction and in-game coaching. Conventional wisdom (at the time) was that he helped construct the team and the postseason run seemed to indicate he had the in-game coaching down. Time has told us that it was not true. Texas will move on from him...
I agree it is frustrating to see Tre Johnson being squandered.
Thanks for posting that @lazygringo
I agree with the sentiments above - if nothing else, Ewers will get drafted for the deep out. But, we already know that for the most part. He excelled against the others in that video, for certain.
Is the revised Model 2 from 2024+?
A friend owns both a Tesla and Polestar. He says the Polestar is the worst car he has ever owned. Breakdowns, etc. The Hyundais are interesting and I like the styling (had one as an Uber), but I fear the Hyundai "quality"
Agree not to cloak this thread, but I would be dishonest if acquiring a Tesla at this point did not give me pause. Be that as it may...
Most of the newer EVs out there are fascinating, but have crazy MSRP and/or low range. VW van above falls into both categories.
I am seeing a decent 2nd-ary market for Tesla right now. A 2023 M3 Long-range w/ 20k miles is selling for 65% of new - from Tesla. I think they can be had for less elsewhere, too.
I drove the Chevy Silverado LT EV on Saturday and was extremely impressed. I worry about it being a new model - and that it is a little more pricey than I would like to spend on an unproven EV.
I have considered a Tesla Model 3 because of its relatively low entry price point. However, the depreciation seems to be pretty steep on the Teslas these days. Thoughts I am having (1) just buy new or (2) buy used.
#1 - I suffer depreciation, but the good/bad/ugly of the car is all on me.
#2 - 2 years old and around $20k lower than new
What do the Tesla owners and Tesla haters have to say? Ideally, I want a reasonably priced EV with range of 300 miles.
Totally understand. I was fascinated and intrigued by it. And - sorry if it seemed like I was thread-crapping on your decision. I'm presently driving a 10-yr-old Toyota minivan because (1) it works (2) it is paid for and (3) I know everything about it. I am definitely not coming from a position of expertise
I hope you love it. And agree w/ @GottaB about value retention.
Congrats @C-Man
I drove a 2025 Land Cruiser on Saturday and was left a little underwhelmed. It felt a little underpowered for its weight, but it could have just been my bias against the notion of a 2.4L 4-cylinder Turbo. It also had considerably more road noise than I would have expected for a $60k+ car.
That's essentially what IBM did for some of its fabs to GF a while back. In 2015, IBM gave GF all of its fabs and $1.5B and agreed to purchase material from GF for 10 years.
PH Burnet's Nitro stout is quite good right now. It's basically their traditional stout w/ Nitro as the propellant
My son and I favor Green Battles, but it seems that it is now more of a seasonal for them. I like PH and appreciate their business, but will complain that the pints used to be around 20 oz at $6 and now feel more like 15oz for $7. And the HH prices of old were $4 for that same ~20 oz "pint".
Used to be one of the better IPAs in Florida. Before Oskar Blues left Austin, they were the Central US brewer for Jai Alai, IIRC. It was great to get on tap and you could get it as part of their $6 6-packs on Sunday.
"Rupert Murdoch is here. Good to see him." Uh - don't give a shit, other than seeing him separated from $30mm per year for the commenting atrocity that is Tom Brady.
