Thanks, man. The previous coach kinda stunk and I think Odom can turn it around. However, 72 new players and most of last year’s starters playing for top-25 programs kinda sucks. Zero OL and DL talent. Slow and small in the trenches does not work in big time football.

I’m subjecting myself to Purdue @ Northwestern - not in person, thank God. Purdue celebrating a missed FG down by 19 in 4Q is awesome. 6 turnovers in the 4th quarter.

Funny watching the USCe WRs when Sellers starts to scramble. They just stop moving. They know he's not going to throw it after he starts running around.

SEC Refs Suck
IMO, the SEC bias is straightforward. The thumb will be on the scale for the higher ranked team until which time it is clear the lower ranked team is better. Then, they ease up and see some the more straightforward violations. That said, they do seem to dislike Auburn (or is it Freeze) and "like" Georgia. With 15 different camera views and the luxury of replay, it's easy to conclude "all college refs suck" and not be incorrect. With the same luxury of replay and angles, I am amazed at how good NFL refs are.

Good lord, how bad was DeShaun Foster? They lost to Utah, UNLV, and New Mexico, ranked 24, 68, and 109 by Sagarin. They were not even in the game against Utah and UNM, and were down 20-0 against UNLV. They promoted Tim Skipper, and then struggled against Northwestern. Skipper fired Tino Sunseri and promoted Neuheisel. Fwiw, Sunseri was an assistant to Cignetti at JMU and the IU before Foster hired him. He lasted 4 games. Now, they've whipped Penn State (12 after the loss) and are annihilating Michigan State (#54). I like what I am seeing.

It appears to be true. ESPN stats show Parsons with 4 solo tackles and 4 assisted tackles. Chase has 5 solo tackles.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
The NFL mode - in the NFL - l works for several reasons: Every player has been in a demanding minor league system (read: NCAA football) for at least 3 years. Most NFL players are a couple of mental or physical errors from being benched. And a few more plays from being cut. That is motivating. The poor teaching NFL coaches get weeded out rather quickly The NFL model has evolved to where it is because (1) collective bargaining (2) player commitment to results. College players are neither mature enough nor results-oriented enough to consistently execute like this, IMO. I am not advocating beating the hell out of each other, but practicing blocking and tackling remains important. See Saturday.

UCLA's return to dominance no longer featuring DeShaun Foster
During Jerry's post-game interviews, he commented about not pushing the correct buttons to call in the play a couple of times. My son mentioned that Nico just called a play and they moved on. Cool post-game interview with Jerry:
