  1. I get it. We've gone through a similar thought exercise several times lately with other departures. Either there is a problem with retention or a problem with evaluations or both.
  2. I mean, we have 1 junior LB on the roster and 3 freshmen, 2 of whom are lower-rated fliers. Even if we take a LB from the portal, is there not room on the roster for 3 contributors at the LB position? Is every player going to leave who isn't atop the depth chart at his position?
  3. Ags are leaning hard into the "Could be Bama, could be A&M, could be Tech, could be anyone but Texas" routine on this one. Portends well.
  4. Ah, yes. I did actually watch the full, longer video. Just quoted the wrong post. He does fight, just not a ton of power. Still a very good all-around back.
  5. Watched all of this. He doesn't have a lot of lower-the-shoulder power to his game at all. He also lacks the long speed of Isaac Brown. He has good initial burst/acceleration, great shiftiness to avoid tacklers, and excellent patience/vision. Also a good receiver out of the backfield. Looks like a solid all-around back and definitely an upgrade from Wisner.
  6. No one's really doing that, though. Most of the umbrage here is over the fact he cried himself a river, cast shade at Texas on the way out, made a media spectacle, and then scheduled a visit to Oklahoma out of spite. He conducted himself like a jackass and may well end up a sooner. He doesn't deserve any commiseration.
  7. Who needs Isaac Brown? This guy was electric for the Lobos. Crisp snaps and recorded 2 tackles on special teams. Downfield coverage is elite. Can't wait to see him operating on punts next year.
  8. For years, Texas fans lusted after Saban's ruthless approach to churning the roster. Belichick's Patriots routinely let middling players walk who overvalued themselves while Jerry Jones gives average players top-of-the-league contracts. Livingstone, Moore, and Wisner all asked for more than they were worth. Passing on those asks not only allows Texas to allocate the funds for more impact; it also establishes a precedent for other Dak Prescott's who walk into Sark's office asking for more money than Patrick Mahomes.
  9. By pure volume in this thread, he is legion.
  10. At this rate, lamentations over the transfer of Parker Livingstone are on track to reach levels previously attained only by the departure of Savion Red.
  11. This is a strange tangent that you are on. I have no inside information, but I know how to read and to reason. Texas wanted Livingstone back. He wanted more money than they offered and/or more playing time guarantees than they were able to give, so he opted out, as is his right. Getting all butt hurt over it and claiming that he was "pushed out" and "they" are lying about it is infantile and asinine.
  12. You are quite likely right. I'm an amateur when it comes to Xs and Os, but there was plenty in the play for me to appreciate. To my amateur eyes, the left side of the line is clearing defenders for Arch while pushing them right into the path of Clark. This would still be effective, however, if Arch had thrown the WR screen to Livingstone.
  13. I agree except that the left side of the line appears to be blocking for Arch, not for Clark. Either way, it was an incredibly designed and executed play.
  14. Yeah, it looks to have been designed with a legit option, but the line is blocking for Arch to keep it and Arch clearly intends to keep it. He was going all the way. Edit: It's amazing that every player on the offense executed that so well without having practiced it, Arch in particular, but Clark, Endries, and Livingstone all sold the fakes perfectly as well. Love Goosby's reaction! He gone!
  15. https://x.com/espn/status/2006509995374829863 There are much better Xs and Os guys here on the board who probably saw all of this in real time, but this was a great play design by Sark and great execution by Arch and the entire offense. 1. First, Arch runs play-action to Clark. Notice how 6, 30, and 9 for Michigan all bite on the play-action. 2. At the same time, Endries motions outside and Livingstone drops in behind him, signaling WR screen and drawing the boundary defenders outside. 3. Number 6 for Michigan recovers and sets contain on Arch. 4. Arch then fakes the outside run, freezing 6, while simultaneously looking at Livingstone, showing WR screen, freezing the field-side defenders. 5. The left side of the O-line block down to seal the interior defense and create a lane down the center of the field. 6. Arch takes off up the middle and is gone for 60. That was a play-action, WR screen-fake, outside-run-fake, designed QB draw to the middle of the field and it was designed and executed perfectly.
  16. It's literally a base four-man rush where Kindle just beats the tackle. Here's the play:
  17. That scheme with Kindle going around the tackle for a sack is SICK. Definitely hope to see more of that.
  18. Caruso fouls repeatedly with the body then slaps across the arms with wild reach-ins on every shot attempt. He clearly fouled Wemby at least twice on the fadeaway. It's wild how he gets so much respect from the refs and announcers. He's just a bald, flailing foul-machine.
  19. Massey 55 Sagarin 69 FPI 70 SP+ 57
  20. You're not wrong to root for Baxter, of course. He's a Longhorn. The problem with keeping him on the roster is the same problem the Cowboys had for years with Ezekiel Elliott. He's a progress-stopper at this point. As long as he's on the team, he will inevitably get some carries that could have gone to someone better and those carries will most likely result in wasted plays/drives.
  21. Sure we can. Tech plays a shitty schedule in a shit conference. Texas doesn't have an obligation to remedy that. Tech played Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Kent State, and Oregon State this year out of conference and here you are whining that it's only because Texas, Alabama, and Georgia wouldn't play you. Boo hoo. There are about 250 teams somewhere in-between Georgia and Arkansas Pine-Bluff. If Tech is serious about addressing their shit schedule, instead of blaming big bad Texas, pick up the phone, start making calls, and schedule the best teams that you can OOC. But that's not what your administration did. They chose to schedule 3 flea-ridden shit bags OOC to go with your shitty in-conference schedule and you think that entitles you to come on here spouting about both ways. Get a grip and do a little self-reflection.
  22. Woof, that's certainly a take. This Texas team, as of right now, isn't as good as the past two years, but in no way am I ready to concede that it would have no shot against Texas Tech or Oregon. Fans also like watching their teams play in the big show. We don't have to be the favorite to win it for me to want to see Texas get a shot.
