  1. Lulz. If they're complaining about Geffrard's ranking, wonder how they feel about their latest OL signee, Coen Echols, and the IOL ranked above him .... 😂 😂😂
  2. So, Hank South posted this. I thought - let's see what the Cal board is saying about this situation ... A guy keeps posting that the board is dead. If not dead, let's go with weak ... Guy with Michigan logo does a drive-by ... So yeah, nobody seems to give a shit.
  3. Hope FCB is right; he specifically says "expected to return" ... Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Chip Brown (247 Staff) Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby expected to return for 2026, source says Chip Brown (247 Staff) AUSTIN, Texas — Texas redshirt sophomore left tackle Trevor Goosby is expected to return to the Longhorns for the 2026 season, a source close to the situation told Horns247. After Texas' 41-27 victory over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, Steve Sarkisian said, "We've got a great nucleus of players coming back to this team. We'll find the right mix of potential portal players to add, but we've got to retain our players, too. That's really important." Goosby was at the top of Texas' priority list of players to retain, considering Goosby was the one shining star on an offensive line that struggled in 2025 and also considering Goosby was getting feedback from the NFL that he could be a late first-round or second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. In 1,175 career snaps played across three seasons at Texas, Goosby has given up just three sacks. Goosby has played in 30 games for the Longhorns with 15 starts. Unlike former Texas right tackle Cameron Williams, who didn't care for school and wanted to move on after just one season as a starter, (and ended up as a sixth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft), Goosby isn't in a rush to go pro. Sources close to Goosby say the 6-foot-7, 312-pound 247Sports three-star prospect from Melissa sees the merit of adding the weight, strength and experience that will come from another season of starts at left tackle for the Longhorns. Those sources say Goosby wants a chance to solidify himself as a high first-round pick like his mentor Kelvin Banks Jr., who was selected No. 9 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints after three seasons as Texas' starter at left tackle. Goosby will also have a chance to spend a year in college with his younger brother, Austin, a top-20 national 2026 prospect as a 6-foot-5 small forward who will arrive in the fall to play basketball for Sean Miller's program. Goosby established himself as a go-to player in 2024, when he was called into action at Texas A&M when Banks had an ankle injury. With Goosby in the lineup against an Aggies' defense giving up just 128.4 rushing yards per game (3.9 ypc), Texas was able to run the ball 50 times for 240 yards (4.8 ypc) as Goosby. Goosby ended up starting at left tackle in place of an injured Banks against Georgia in a 22-19 overtime loss in the SEC Championship game, and then subbed in at right tackle in College Football Playoff victories against Clemson and Arizona State after starter Cameron Williams suffered an ankle injury. In those four games as a redshirt freshman in 2024, Goosby gave up zero sacks.
  4. So, ... Who was the Alabama WR coach during that time, you ask ? And what is he doing now? (Btw, I was chuckling until I realized we didn't do much better ... our record was salvaged by Worthy (and Mitchell, if you include him). But at east we don't have Coleman and Marion as our OC ... ).
  5. Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247), responding to a question. Could be the semantics, but it sounds like a fait accompli ... 🤞 🤞🤞
  6. Key portion from a Gator 247 note on Baugh. FULL NOTE Sources: Update on Florida star RB Jadan Baugh and RB portal pursuit Tyler Harden (Swamp 247) Sources: Update on Florida star RB Jadan Baugh and RB portal pursuit Sources: Update on Florida star RB Jadan Baugh and RB portal pursuit Tyler Harden (Swamp 247) For the 2025-26 offseason, one of Florida’s most prominent priorities has been retaining star running back Jadan Baugh. Baugh finished the 2025 season with 1,170 rushing yards on 220 carries and eight touchdowns. He is the 10th running back in program history to finish with over 1,000 rushing yards in a single season. That being said, retaining Baugh is essential for the Gators for 2026 season. However, a source tells Swamp247 that a decision on Baugh’s end on whether he’d return to Florida for 2026 or venture elsewhere in the Transfer Portal has not yet been made. Because of that, a source tells Swamp247 that Florida is beginning to look around the portal at running backs to add. Florida is showing interest in two transfer running backs for a source tells Swamp247. Those running backs are USC redshirt freshman transfer running back Bryan Jackson and Michigan State sophomore transfer running back Makhi Frazier. Bryan Jackson Jackson is a 6-foot, 230-pound running back from McKinney, Texas. He is ranked as the No. 20 running back and the No. 219 overall prospect in the 247sports Transfer Rankings. For the 2025 season, Jackson ran for 123 yards on 36 carries and four touchdowns He averaged 3.4 yards per carry His season was highlighted by a 35-yard performance on five carries and a touchdown in a 31-13 win over Michigan. For the 2024 season, his true freshman season, Frazier also ran the ball 36 times for 188 rushing yards and a touchdown. He averaged 5.2 yards per carry. The running back from Texas is a former three-star recruit in the 2024 class. He was ranked as the No. 77 athlete in the country and the No. 136 recruit in Texas. Jackson signed with USC in December 2023 and enrolled in January 2024. Makhi Frazier Frazier is a 5-foot-10, 218-pound running back from McKinney, Texas. He is ranked as the No. 21 running back and the No. 220 overall prospect in the 247sports Transfer Rankings. For the 2025 season, Frazier ran for 520 rushing yards on 116 carries and two touchdowns. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and also caught 12 passes for 25 yards. His season was highlighted by a 103-yard performance on 14 carries and a touchdown in a 23-6 win over Western Michigan, and a 109-yard performance on 14 carries in a 31-20 loss to Michigan. For the 2024 season, his true freshman season, Frazier ran the ball seven times for 21 yards. That being said, Frazier took on a much more impactful role in 2025 and gained that much more experience at the collegiate level. The running back from the Lone Star State is a former three-star recruit in the 2024 class. He was ranked as the No. 109 running back in the country and the No. 249 recruit in Texas. Frazier was originally committed to Oregon State, but following head coach Jonathan Smith's departure from Oregon State, Frazier followed him to East Lansing and signed with Michigan State in December 2023. He enrolled in June 2024.
  7. Some good info on Sprague's play this year (PFF). Michigan starting offensive lineman Andrew Sprague to enter NCAA Transfer Portal Michigan starting offensive lineman Andrew Sprague to enter NCAA Transfer Portal Michigan starting offensive lineman Andrew Sprague to enter NCAA Transfer Portal Zach Shaw (Michigan 247) Late Friday night, the Michigan football team saw another 2025 starter enter the NCAA Transfer portal, as right tackle Andrew Sprague was first reported by Matt Zenitz to be entering the portal. Sprague, who was a redshirt freshman this fall, played 740 of the Wolverines' 867 offensive snaps this season, 736 of which came at right tackle. He started 12 games for the Wolverines, but did not play in Michigan's Citrus Bowl matchup against Texas. The 6-foot-8, 315-pounder and former top-100 recruit finished 73rd out of 256 qualified FBS tackles in Pro Football Focus's pass-blocking grade, 95th in run-blocking grade and 72nd in overall grade. Of 53 freshman and redshirt freshman who played enough snaps, however, he was 10th in PFF's overall blocking grade. He allowed just one sack on 346 pass-blocking snaps, though he did surrender 19 pressures, ranking him 129th in pass-blocking efficiency. With great size and reach, Michigan was optimistic that Sprague could become a multi-year starter and possibly a star for the Wolverines as an upperclassman. Of course, a lot has changed with Michigan since Sprague's last game. Head coach Sherrone Moore, who recruited Sprague, was fired for cause. And this week, the Wolverines moved on from offensive line coach Grant Newsome as Kyle Whittingham puts his own staff in place. Michigan is set to hire Jim Harding as its offensive line coach after 12 seasons in that role with Utah. Harding is an Ohio native who coached high school football in the state of Michigan before moving to the collegiate ranks. "One of the country's top OL coaches. Has developed a nation's leading 12 first-team all-conference players since 2015 and likely to have two first-round picks in April," Matt Zenitz wrote. Sprague, who was the No. 68 overall prospect in the 2024 247Sports Composite, hailed from the Kansas City area originally, and was not offered by Harding and Utah out of high school. This past fall, he was one of three redshirt freshmen starting on the offensive line for the Wolverines, believed be a first for the maize and blue in the 21st century. Be sure to check back with our Michigan Transfer Portal page for a running list of players who enter the portal in the next two weeks. The portal is officially open Jan. 2-15.

  9. Lulz. Texas A&M football promotes staffers Joey Lynch, John Perry to assistant coaches Texas A&M football promotes staffers Joey Lynch, John Perry to assistant coaches Texas A&M football promotes staffers Joey Lynch, John Perry to assistant coachesTarp (aggie 247) Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko announced today that football staff members Joey Lynch and John Perry had been promoted to assistant coaches Lynch is going from senior offensive analyst to the Aggies' quarterbacks coach, while Perry shifts from assistant wide receivers coach to taking the full-time reins of the positional group. Lynch brings nearly 20 years of experience to the new role, including nine years as an offensive coordinator at the FCS level. Texas A&M marks the second stop together for Perry and Elko as the two worked together at Hofstra University in 2006, serving as its offensive and defensive coordinator, respectively. Perry also spent five years as the head coach at Merrimack College during his near 30-year coaching career. In his two seasons with the Aggies (2024-25), Lynch worked with the running backs, helping the unit produce back-to-back seasons with 2,400-plus yards and 25 rushing scores. It marked the first time since 2012-13 that Texas A&M achieved the feat in consecutive seasons. Under Lynch's guidance, the rushing offense improved from 90th nationally prior to his arrival to 26th in 2024 (195.5) and 34th in 2025 (184.7). Lynch helped develop Second Team All-SEC selection Le'Veon Moss, who concluded his career with 1,767 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns, despite battling injuries his final two seasons. He also coached Rueben Owens II and Amari Daniels to 1,000-plus career rushing yards. Prior to his time in Aggieland, Lynch spent three years at Vanderbilt University, serving as the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for one season (2021) before being promoted to the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach his final two years (2022-23). While in Nashville, Lynch helped Vanderbilt's passing offense improve from 104th nationally in 2021 to 64th in 2023. Additionally after taking over as the Commodores offensive coordinator in 2022, Vanderbilt finished 94th and 50th in yards per completion after finishing ranked above 100 in the two years prior. Quarterbacks AJ Swann and Mike Wright combined to throw just six interceptions in 2022, the fewest in the SEC and 12th-fewest nationally. Swann made his debut in Vanderbilt's win over Northern Illinois and went 159 pass attempts before throwing his first interception. It marked the longest stretch to open a career by a Commodore signal-caller since at least 1996 and the longest by an SEC quarterback since 2002. On the year, Swann had the fewest interceptions by any true freshman quarterback with at least 200 dropbacks. Will Sheppard was the primary target for the Commodores, and his nine touchdown receptions were the third-most in school history and ranked second in the SEC. Lynch also mentored Ray Davis during his final season with the Commodores. The running back led the team with 1,042 yards and five touchdowns to become the seventh Commodore to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season after finishing with the ninth-most rushing yards in a season in school history. The reaction ...

  11. Portal nugget: SEC defender one to watch for Texas Hank South (247 Sports) Portal nugget: SEC defender one to watch for Texas Portal nugget: SEC defender one to watch for Texas Hank South (247 Sports) Auburn linebacker Robert Woodyard is expected to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2 as reported on Christmas Eve. The Mobile, Ala. native started 11 games for the Tigers in 2025, amassing 67 tackles, including 7 tackles for a loss and 2 sacks. In all, Woodyard has played in 29 games across his career on the Plains. The veteran linebacker was the top-rated player on the Tigers' defense all season, according to Pro Football Focus, registering an 80.1 score. Woodyard particularly excelled in run defense, scoring an 88.4. Texas is losing three starting linebackers this offseason -- Anthony Hill Jr., Liona Lefau, and Trey Moore. While Texas has players waiting in the wings, like Ty'Anthony Smith, Brad Spence, Bo Barnes, and incoming five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, the position is a need in the portal as UT hasn't signed big classes at the position in recent cycles. A source close to Woodyard's camp told Horns247 on Tuesday that Texas is going to be a program Woodyard considers "due to the relationships." One of those relationships is Woodyard's former high school coach at Williamson, Antonio Coleman, having played for new Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp at Auburn. (Not to be confused with the 2025 recruit Antonio Coleman that signed with Auburn) The 6-foot, 245-pound Woodyard ranks as the No. 5 linebacker and the No. 71 overall player in the transfer portal. So far, the Longhorns have seen 13 players from this year's team announce intentions to hit the transfer portal. Of course, just because a player goes in the portal, doesn't always mean they can't return to the team. That's not to say any of the 13 are considering a return or are all wanted back, but we have seen it happen before (Juan Davis).

As far as the Aggies-went-7-1-data point, they played 8 SEC games. In the table below, the red line separates the top half of the SEC from the bottom half, and the green lines mark the 8 opponents the Aggies played. Whom they played may have helped embellish their record.
