  1. But as for me I hope they never see Ol’ DB Cooper again
  2. When is the National Guard being sent in?
  3. Agreed. Looking forward to the next couple of years. Hoping they can hold on to Chapman and Bregman. If it can't be the Sox this year I'm going to pull hard for the Blue Jays. They are a fun team to watch, and I'd love to see the Canadian team win it all.
  4. This. I considered it an honor to send my girl Jolie to Valhalla (all dogs go to Valhalla imo). It was the hardest trigger I ever pulled, and I miss her every day. I hope someone does the same for me when it’s my time.
  5. I have seen moose poop ear rings and swizzle sticks for sale at the tourist traps up here. People literally buying shit.
  6. Yeah, I don’t know if it was just a funky one or what. I plan on getting another one sometime to see if it was just a bad bou. A caribou is more of the size of animal me and Mrs. Moose need.
  7. Alaska...Denali Borough. If memory serves me correctly from the other sites you lived in Fairbanks for a bit. I've taken one caribou, which is basically the same as a reindeer. Neither my wife or I cared for it. The backstrap was ok fried, but it just had a weird taste to me and her. Ended up giving most of it away.
  8. We'll buy pork butt to cut the moose with for sausage. We usually buy beef steak trimmings from the butcher shops to cut with it for ground meat. During hunting season up here all the meat markets have steak trimmings for sale.
  9. I use the same rifle I hunted whitetail deer with in Texas, a .270 Win. I don’t take a shot over 300 yards. It’s usually a shot in the 100 to 200 yard range. If you can place your shot, they die quickly. I’ve killed several moose over the years, all within 300 yards and all one shot kills.
  10. Soups and stews are common winter meals at Casa de Moose. Since the wood stove is burning 24/7 you can cook things like that on it and save propane. Gonna try jerky along with the sausage. Gotta do something with all that meat. Trying to not get burned out on it since it seems like it will be our red meat option for the foreseeable future.
  11. Cold holes are an option, but we cheat. We have had a chest freezer at a friend’s house who has electricity. Plus, we recently bought an on the grid house, so we’ll move it over to our new place eventually. We still live at the cabin. We are renovating the new place at stoners pace. It’s basically just an expensive bathroom, laundry facility right now.
  12. I haven’t moose hunted in 2 years because it’s just the wife and I and a moose is a lot of meat for 2 people. Made sure the rifle was still sighted in this weekend so we could go out on opening day (Sept 1) because of this shit. Going to pull out my Grandpa’s venison sausage recipes and see if they translate to moose if I’m lucky enough to get one.
  13. Striker fired 9mm Simple to use, high capacity, and a plethora of ammo options

    High

Potent Paul’s Permanent Marker has been my recent go to. Damn fine ride
  15. My only run in with furries was at a solstice hedonism camp out last year. I watched someone dressed up like a cat do cat things for over half an hour while I smoked a joint. It was one of the more surreal things I have witnessed.
  16. Fuck that. It's time to hoist the black flag and start slitting throats. My grandfather once told me it's not wrong to kill someone that needs to be killed. He gave me my moral clarity for the situation we now face. I'm looking forward to the spark that starts it all. I hope it happens sooner rather than later so I can participate fully. Getting old sucks. Valhalla calls.
