  1. Big Noon on Fox doing a tribute to Corso. Pretty cool.
  2. From setting up tents, tables, and chairs in the backyard getting ready for my recent UT grad's watch party . . . FIGHT!
  3. The nice thing about going on Sunday, even if not going for breakfast, it's that when you get in line it's already moving. On Saturday if you get there at 9:00 the line doesn't move until 11:00.
  4. @Pablo this is my report from about a year ago. I have seen a couple other Sunday morning reports, since hitting #1, of people getting there between 5:50 and 6:50 and eating before at 8:15 and 8:50 respectively. You can order the entire menu on Sunday mornings.

Doja Cat is out to be replaced by The Killers. Thus, I had to by a couple 1-day passes for W1/Sunday for my lovely wife.
  6. Yeah, they use M&M rotisseries which burn real wood. Burnt Bean has an M&M rotisserie as well, but I'm not sure what they cook on it as they use traditional offsets for the heavily lifting.
  7. Looks like a great supporting cast. I hope its not merely a bunch of cameos.
  8. Looks like she's been buttering her muffin - repeatedly.
  9. Damn. I'm glad you fell for the time-share CT scan.
  10. Thirty-five years ago today we lost one of, if not the, best guitar players of all time. Continue to rest in peace, Stevie.
  11. TM 'Cue Course with Wayne Mueller A couple of take aways: 1) Never seen anyone take a mallet to a brisket when trimming. 2) The cooked brisket that he sliced looked great.* 3) The Louie Mueller dipping sauce is probably my favorite sauce - I usually make John Mueller's version for beef ribs. 4) That old building is awesome and worth the trip from time to time. *ETA - I don't remember ever being served brisket that looked that good at LM.
  12. Mansplaining to husbands in the wives thread. Nice.
  13. I didn't even know the school existed. aggy cannot be happy about this, though.
  14. My largest expense when I moved in to a dorm my freshman year was on lumber. We build an extremely sturdy frame that lifted the bed off the floor with enough room to put the desk underneath. I don't know if we had to buy bedding, but I know I didn't make my bed the entire first year.
  15. One caveat has to do with the capacity of the one executing the POA. I have seen at least two situations where someone revoked a POA by executing a new one and followed later by a finding that they were not competent to execute a new POA. The kicker is that a person can have sufficient capacity for revoking a POA, but at the same time not sufficient to make a new one - leaving them without a POA at all.
  16. Not sure about the family matter part of it, @hornian deals with wills and estates, IIRC.
  17. Had a fishing buddy this morning on Salado Creek. This Northern Cottonmouth apparently wanted my spot, so I move on after taking the picture.
  18. Spent the morning fishing Salado Creek. Lots of wading in the cool, spring-fed waters. Caught plenty of small largemouth and spotted bass. Only thing worth pulling the camera out for was this beautiful, Northern Cottonmouth. As he was crossing to my side of the creek when I took the picture, I moved on shortly thereafter. Also got to meet @Damor and his son at the local brewery afterwards. Nice way to spend a Sunday.
  19. So ready for college football.
  20. That looks awesome. I bet it would be good with some strawberry preserves, too.
  21. I guess ignorance is bliss - I don't know of any features that I need behind a subscription paywall. I don't even use the free account. Just the app with whatever podcasts I want. I listen to podcasts almost exclusively when driving - probably 4 to 6 hours a week.
  22. When I went to elementary school in VA in the late 70's I have no idea what time we started - get your ass up, eat Captain Crunch, get on the bus, go to school. I do remember the school year going until mid-June - fuck that.
  23. I use Pocket Casts and have for years. I have about 15 podcasts and it shows each time a new episode is dropped. You can toggle on and off auto download for new podcasts.
  24. This thread is not complete without @Nuge's input.
