I don't know anything Dua Lipa sings, but I suspect it will be a revealing show - both on and off the stage.

I have a Thermoworks Signals and a Thermapen. Used to have a Smoke. The Thermapen is great but the probes on the signals and smoke all suffer from the same issue as other similar products - the probe wires don’t hold up to my rock n roll lifestyle. I keep buying them.
If the Signals breaks again I am going to try the Chris Young wireless one with the 8 separate sensors on one probe
https://combustion.inc Is the website. Here’s a fairly annoying video where he shills it:
I saw the Combustion Inc. thermometer on sale the other day and was ready to pull the trigger. Only to find out there are two other similar thermometers on the market now - Meater 2 plus and Thypur Sync. Watched a handy review video and decided to get the Thypur. The Thypur was $159 on their website, plus a 10% discount for giving them my email address. Can't wait to try it out.

Went to the RR AMP yesterday for this line up…..
The Derailers
Patrice Pike
Monte Montgomery
Kelly Willis
Del Castillo
Bob Schneider
Great venue.
Other than a light shower around 5 the weather was perfect.
Everyone was great and Del Castillo blew the doors off of that place.
That was on my radar, but so was a high likelihood of storms. Decided not to go. Sounds like it turned out well.

Last year, UTSA and UT Arlington CAPed students were required to attend summer classes on campus. I believe they pull this nonsense because those are the two most popular choices to thin the herd.
When my daughter went to UTSA in 2021, they required summer classes as well. Due to covid, the classes were online, though.

There are most certainly personal guarantees on some if not most of the debt. Also, some tax liability and department of labor liability could have personal ramifications.I've followed this thread for the bizarre train wreck quality it brings. Until this post, it never really hit me that there could be personal finance issues at stake here. What part of the debts that you guys are calculating would pierce the corporate veil?

I differ from some on this point, but I would also be very clear about the choice of major when CAPing into UT. It's pretty much liberal arts only. I doubt many get into Cockrell or McCombs.
My view is that it's good to get in the door and then try to transfer within UT, but that has proven difficult for some. If your kid is dead set on being (for instance) an engineer, then CAP might not be the optimal route. My son is planning to transfer from Psych to Biology and then grad school in kinesiology or physical therapy, and it appears possible, but some transfers would be very unlikely.
My oldest CAPed into UT and is majoring in economics with a minor in business. Just recently they added a BS econ degree under the school of liberal arts with is much more math intensive. Might not be McCombs, but a BS in econ with a business minor will give a kid many of the same courses.
Youngest wants to be a PT. When she was CAPed, she chose Texas State to major in biology instead.
As to the question about best CAP school - there are tiers with USTA and UTA being the highest, not all kids get that option. Some CAPed kids have to chose UT Tyler, UTRGV, or UTEP instead.

in Cedar Park (population 77,000) that had a scattered population of a few hundred until the 1980s…..
Yep. Cedar Park had Winkley's at the SE corner of 183 and 1431 (1431 didn't go east to I-35 until the early 80s) and the Fast Car Bar in the 1980s.
I suspect Cyndi's property was lovely before they knocked everything down for her neighborhood.

Gentlemen, this child really is a female. She can drive decently to school when I ride with her but she can't park worth a damn. I'm not sure why parking the car is her weak spot but she doesn't seem to be getting it at all. I asked her yesterday as she got very upset at her inadequacy just what exactly she planned to do with her car once she reached her destinations day to day? Christ, we haven't even attempted parallel parking yet. Where's Sear's Driving School when you need it because mdmost's Driving School isn't getting the job done?
I taught both daughters in my suburban. They can park anything anywhere.
Parallel parking is the last thing to learn. With my youngest, I told her to google parallel parking to get an idea before we went to practice. She nailed it first time and I never had to teach anything.
I would suggest you google some parking videos. Find one that is simple and uses visual clues (line up side mirror, etc.). Once you find one that you are comfortable with, sit down and watch it with her.

1.5 for T.I.? That's a shitload. Did they lease a building that was completely unsuitable for restaurant use?
It looks like a brand new building. It might not have been finished out at all.

Hit up Burnt Bean Co. Barbecue today. Arrived about 9:50 and we were the second couple in line. Picture below was at 10:15.
Moist brisket, pork ribs, poblano and jack cheese sausage, green beans, coleslaw, queso mac & cheese, and bacon tater casserole.
Overall a great meal. Sausage was a really good combination. Brisket was seasoned and cooked perfect. Ribs were a little over for me, but were extremely flavorful. I prefer ribs were you can take a bite without the meat falling off the bone. Many people believe that falling off the bone is the sign of perfectly cooked ribs.
Burnt Bean is definitely top 10, probably top 5. I think InterStellar BBQ is better, but not by much.

Pretty sure that inkind is the company that was selling $100 for $50 gift cards a while back. Is this some kind of predatory loan racket to come in and target over extended businesses? Or just a one off.
I doubt that Inkind really wants to be running a barbecue joint. They will have the same issues as Valentina's - costs, labor, customer base. They're likely trying to recoup as much of their investment as possible. They probably want to sell it, but I suspect they'll have to shut it down eventually.

I will say that I'd been picking up on that vibe, though. Some overarching mission of the group he is associated with. Several times it was mentioned that the mission was to observe. Sugar never worried about his ability to get through situations where he was clearly the underdog. Stops attack dogs by simply looking and whispering. Not too concerned about internal injuries when impaled by a 9" chef's knife. Fluent in all the languages.

Was he really an alien or was that a hallucination from his drugs?
I guess we'll find out in episode 7.

I’m disappointed in the writing. It’s human trafficking. Hollywood coverup. Spy shit. Weird divorce shot. I’m fucking can’t fused. Tells his helper to come in if not back in 10 minutes. He was in there more than ten minutes.
Don't you think most of that stuff takes a back seat to the fact that he's actually an alien?
Also, bad guys got the helper before the ten minutes expired. It was always going to take more than ten minutes anyway. He had at least a three minute walk from his car to the house.

I think I've shared this before, but a couple of years ago we wanted to introduce some old movies to the nieces and nephews who were young enough to get into them, and I absolutely could not find a VCR at any pawnshop. I ended up overpaying on Craigslist, like 30 miles away, for one.
So that's my answer, old school VCR.
I think we are going to be entering into the era where VCR's will appreciate as relics and collectibles, like typewriters have, and we are exiting the era where everyone just threw their VCRs away or sold them for $2 at garage sales.
DVD players are probably in that latter era.
Same. Before the Star Wars prequels came out, we wanted to show the original trilogy to our kids. We had a VHS box set of the original trilogy. Ended up finding a VCR at Goodwill for $3.50. Still have it.

I have a 1989 Trek hybrid hanging in my garage. I used it for my first triathlon in 2009/2010.

I mean, that's actually fast for them. That was pretty much the average wait both in line and for food at the trailer. Never understood why it took so long to get the food once you ordered. Why couldn't they do it like every other bbq joint where they cut the meat as you order it? Never made sense to me.
Line wait was due to one cashier. Cashier had to take order, take payment, and grab orders of chips and queso. Horribly inefficient. The kitchen couldn't even keep up with that.

Putting a hunting, gun, military, or similar sticker on your vehicle is an advertisement that there is a higher degree of probability of a firearm in the vehicle, inviting the bad guys to break in.
Not unlike the people that used to put stickers bragging about the badass stereo system that was installed in the car.

Check with her insurance. My mother's insurance company, Humana, paid for one of the monitoring things. She chose the one to wear around her neck although there was a watch version as well.

I had cell phone contracts with my girls. Only a couple of times did we have any issues - mostly with not putting the phone away at the designated time. We also required them to charge the phones overnight in the kitchen as opposed to their rooms.
I'm sure they got away with things, but they turned out fine. I would not resort to reading their text messages without them knowing. If I had a concern, I would have them bring me the phone to look at in their presence. I don't remember ever having to do that. At one point, the one of the phone passwords was changed, but that was a result of Apple moving from a 4 digit password to 6 digit password.
The girls' phones were linked through my wife's apple account. They could not download any apps without her permission. We were able to discuss the apps with the girls prior to allowing them to download.
Our relationship with the girls has always been trust until they give you a reason not to. YMMV
