  1. I don't see 9/19 on the schedule at Scoot Inn only 10/25. Did the date move? Looks like there are some indoor tix on 10/25.
  2. Bee Creek is a great area. My dad used to have a cabin on Bee Creek. We've caught multiple 5+ pound bass back there - fishing conventional. Most bass caught back there were on 2" smoke twist tailed grubs. Point being that it wouldn't be difficult to catch bass on your injured fish pattern. There also used to be several docks with great lights for fishing at night.
  3. Peruvian grilled chicken tonight on the kamado with the Joetiessorie. Turned out pretty good. Much better than any store bought rotisserie chicken.
  4. Pecan Lodge was on the 2017 list. We ate there on our Top 50 tour. It was good overall, but we haven't had any reason to go back. Cattleack was the best in and around DFW at the time. Heim was probably second. The changes in top barbecue over the past eight years has been incredible.
  5. You should also try some large top water flies up in the newly submerged grass.
  6. Have you ever fished the lighted docks at night? We used to slay whites, blacks, and the occasional striper.
  7. Spent a couple hours fishing this morning on the San Gabriel. A bunch of changes since the flood. Ended up catching several sunfish and largemouth bass. The Rio Grande Ciclids are my favorite, though.

    Austin FC

Finally a regular season MLS match at Q2. Fuck Houston! Listos!
  9. Yeah, I didn't particularly like the three period system. Fine for an exhibition with tons of rotation and obviated the need for water breaks which would have been a must with 45 halves. USTA played pretty well in a 2-0 loss. One goal came from a penalty in the box. Neither goal was scored when our family friends were on the pitch and they both played at least 50% of the game. I'm sure the heavy rotation affected Texas' play, but they did not seem altogether cohesive. Looking forward to a great season!
  10. At the exhibition game against UTSA. My daughter played soccer with two of the freshmen playing for the roadrunners. Wearing burnt orange, but hoping the former teammates pay well. Hookem
  11. A phrase you should be really careful with.
  12. If you don't understand physics, you might get a tooth knocked out.
  13. I hope he's on international duty when Austin FC has to play LAFC at the end of the season.
  14. I wouldn't have been filming that guy. My line would already be in the water.
  15. That's great. I'm glad you bumped the thread, too. I was going to bump it last week to get it back on page 1. This thread was quite important in my decision to stop drinking and there are others that probably could use it.
  16. Miss Cleo was legit.
  17. I'd love to be the guy at HEB that comes up with all the crap they can put hatch chiles into. What about in a cookie, no one would eat that, right? wrong. Ice cream, pudding, coffee, beer . . . They should try to put some in toothpaste - I bet they sell the hell out of that.
  18. Interesting that they are doing four weeks in London. Their joint is only closed here for a couple weeks.
  19. Since there are clearly no comedy movies in the past decade that are quotable and few even memorable, television shows is all we have. Although, I loved Derry Girls, I can't think of any memorable quotes. I am more likely to imitate Nandor than drop a memorable quote. Reservation Dogs - skoden Ted Lasso - whistle, . . . WHISTLE
  20. Asking if anyone knows about charter buses seems like a pretty reasonable question to me.
  21. I happily support PBS with a small monthly donation. I regularly watch many shows and have since I was old enough to watch TV. My understanding is that PBS only gets about 15% of its funding from CPB. The quality of PBS shows could easily generate enough revenue to make up the difference. I didn't support the current president, I stay out of CR, and I'm not a fascist nut job. I am okay, though, with PBS finding private ways of supporting its programming which it already does in large part.
  22. I've been twice. Once on opening weekend and once about a month later. The concept of Cajun influenced barbecue is good and Holden is a seasoned pit master, having spent years at InterStellar. I definitely recommend it. If its available, the crawfish dressing is a must.
  23. I've been to 2M three times, albeit between 2017-2020, all great. I've been to Reese Bros. twice, both times overall better than 2M.
