Done. The bread is in the oven.
Packing the RV tonight and heading out tomorrow. Spending the night in Monroe, LA or Jackson, MS tomorrow night. PCB on Thursday. Chill and ocean swim Friday. Race Saturday.
Weāre officially moving in to the new house Monday. Leaving for Florida Wednesday. Iām swimming this morning and riding tomorrow. Iāll do a 7 or 8 mile run Sunday.
Did a nice little ride over the weekend. Felt like John Denverā¦country roadsā¦take me homeā¦
Average speed is a bit off due to having to turn around multiple times, stop for cars, etc.
First year in the PPA McCombs program, intermediate accounting professor told us to have a conversation with our families and spouses and tell them we wouldnāt be seeing much of them that semester.
Iām closing on my house purchase Friday and leaving 10 days later to go to Florida. My bike has been set up in my in-laws spare storage room for the past 3 months. Iām so excited to have my own house I could scream.
Iāve been trying to go running more on the weekends when the sun is up. Itās humid as hell outside.
Ran 12 yesterday, going to swim later. Taking my bike off the trainer today as well to get some road rides in.
Parents checked in at Rotary house yesterday for my dadās first round of immunotherapy therapy today. Once every three weeks he will head down to get a dose of Keytruda(sp?). Docs are hoping it will decrease the size of the tumor on his tailbone to the point where they can radiate that bitch away.
I was in Houston this weekend as weāre selling our house and closing on the sale on the 15th. We were packing up the rest of our stuff and I headed back to Tyler today.
Heading back up 45 and Iām seeing a ton of tri bikes on the back of peoples cars. 70.3 Galveston was this weekend and they canceled the swim due to currents in Galveston Bay. I ran this morning and the wind was blowing 20+ from the north. That bike must have been a bitch.
Got 12 miles in this morning and an hour spin before we left yesterday. One last hard week and Iām ready.
Just buy one and ask for forgiveness later. My exact words were ācheaper than a drug habitā.
In actuality, she told me to go buy one for Fatherās Day.
This right here. I learned a lot from just going out there and making a dumbass out of myself. Donāt overthink it and listen to your body.
My first one was a 50 minute swim, 3 hour bike, and a 2:28 run. Transitions sucked as they were so far from the water exit and bike entrance. I think I was 6:31 or something total. Iām HOPING for a sub 6 this go round in 5 weeks. I can definitely take time off that run and that bike. Iāve really been working on the bike for this race and Iām thinking I can shoot for at least a 2:45. Iād also really like a sub 2 half marathon.
For the first one, I didnāt train properly. I ran too much and didnāt do enough brick workouts. I feel a lot more confident this time.
Enjoy the first one. Thereās absolutely nothing like putting in the work and seeing that red carpet. My FIL caught probably the best video of me raving Iāve ever seen when I crossed the finish line and heās seen me finish two marathons and multiple halfās.
How much is Elko making? Would they really pay more for a basketball coach than a football coach?
Itās aggy, so probably.
Edit: never mind, itās 7 mil per year for elko. Still, thatās fucking sad and hilarious at the same time.
Thatās a feat in itself.
three hour bike this AM, 6 mile run after. Twelve mile run yesterday. Probably swim tomorrow. Depends on how I feel.
Doing more runs after biking really is paying off. That and better nutrition this go around.
