  1. Thank you for the food
  2. Another oops for KSU
  3. Haha haters gonna hate. The hardware is real and it's spectacular. It's as real as any championship in the pre-BCS era.
  4. Yeah, I agree with this and wonder the same thing. There is at least more access to the path to a championship game. For BYU, we have always wanted to have access and be able to control our destiny. And there are some schools that have boosters that are willing to spend to give that school a chance and may make things very interesting in the next years. TTU, SMU, BYU, ASU and others are trying to elevate and NIL has leveled the playing field somewhat for us. It seems like the bluebloods and the hungry plus moneyed non bluebloods will fare the best going forward. If there really is another round of consolidation and some of the Big 4 are left behind, who should worry more -- TTU, ASU, BYU, SMU who may have more success than ever before in the coming years or the Purdues and Mississippi States who have been riding coattails for a long time?
  5. I could support this, even if the East pod is a bunch of misfits. West (with ASU on the rise and AU somewhat competitive now) and South pods would be the saltiest.
  6. You in the Big 12 thread so you care at least a little
  7. Looks like BYU will be starting a true freshman at QB after the Retzlaff drama and exit. Bachmeier had offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Michigan, Oregon, Arkansas and Michigan State coming out of high school. He chose Stanford, won the starting job in the spring, but with the departure of the HC he transferred to BYU and now won the starting job again. The team is good enough that he just needs to be solid and manage the game. Could be a bumpy year or special year if he steps up because the rest of the pieces are in place.
  8. There was a time when I was in Columbus frequently for work. If you like pizza, hit Tommy's. A few locations, a couple of them near campus. Got a cracker crust that's pretty good. They do cut it into squares tho.
  9. Kinda looks like they got a case.
  10. Dublin is great. Wonder how many fans will travel vs locals attending...
  11. Yup. We got things figured out tho.
  12. No good reason. Rebranding gone bad. Actually, the NCAA disallowed them the following year because they were "confusing" other teams. Too much white on a dark uniform. The NCAA saved us from ourselves.
  13. Even though I'm giving you a hard time, we have done worse. This was a shameful period for us. A white bib (like a child?) and the addition of tan accents is an all-time uniform abomination (introduced in 1999 for a brief period):
  14. Peterson and Dybantsa matchups should be awesome. Probably going to be #1 and #2 in the draft.
  15. Interesting read. Is this even close to true: "We have top-three-in-the-country resources.”??
  16. Looks nice, but that's pretty weak as a P4 that one of the end zones has no seats.
  17. They need an extra week to prep for Cal lol
  18. This out in the open arrangement has been a game changer for schools like BYU, which has a lot of wealthy alumni and many are willing to spend for athletics.
  19. I'm not on the conspiracy theory train with this one, but I also don't totally rule it out. There are some odd things here. The night in question happened in Nov 2023. Five days later the girl calls the police, but won't name who. She had a rape kit examination done, also days later than the incident. Police close the case because the girl won't name the person and she appears not wanting to take it forward. Her description of the evening is weird, too. Then, one and a half years later this surfaces out of nowhere and is a civil suit (no criminal charges). What's with that timing? Same time as when Jake Retzlaff is going into his final year making big money. It's done after the portal closes, doing maximum damage to Jake. Now that Jake's life and career are blown up the suit was dropped. Was the process the punishment? (Or, maybe its part of Globalize the Intifada?) I don't know what to think. It's not clear that Jake is guilty or innocent. As far as the honor code goes, BYU has changed its approach since the Brandon Davies incident. They try to figure things out privately and more compassionately/leniently than before. With this matter involving rape allegations and then Jake admitting that they were together that night, that changed the dynamic. BYU can't be seen going soft on possible sexual assault when there is enough evidence that something may have indeed happened. It's sucky for all involved. Was looking forward to a special year in football. Now we have a big question mark at QB.
