  1. You are correct on all counts. Harlan is a douche. Really don't get it. Alamo Bowl here we come?
  2. For the record, I was not defending Portnoy. Reread above if you think otherwise. I just said I think Mamdani is a worse person. This is not the CR so I am not going to list all the reasons, but I have lots of them and being a Muslim is not one of them. I don't know what this means (didn't watch the Sopranos).
  3. To criticize Mamdani for his political views/policies and for being a total phony and liar can only be explained by Islamophobia? This pervasive attitude in our world that to criticize anyone that is not a straight white male means they are animated by hate for that race/gender/sexuality is so simple-minded and dishonest.
  4. It's nice to know you noticed. It's been a dark few days. Appreciate knowing you care.
  5. Did not expect a bunch of Mamdani apologists from UT, TT, and OSU football fans, but I guess Surly really is like the Star Wars cantina with all sorts. He's a fake POS and is a worse person than Portnoy, btw.
  6. In the case of Mamdani, this is absolutely true. He's used communist rhetoric ("seizing the means of production", "Each according to their need, each according to their ability", wants government run grocery stores, etc.). His mom has said that he does not see himself as American. I'm done with cloak room posting here, but to say "none of those claims are remotely true" is ridiculous.
  7. I guess we just need one more quality loss and then maybe we could jump Notre Dame.
  8. We could definitely drop another game or two (TCU and Cinci are not gimmes), but no one we play has the defense that Tech has. We are fully capable of winning out and I expect us to.
  9. I liked it. We have beef with ND. We had an agreement for home and away games. We did the away games and then they exited the contract. They gave us one neutral site game instead (Vegas). We'd love a chance for some payback.
  10. FY2025 B10 distributions are expected to be $75-80 million (plus they have additional income). WTH is wrong with these schools that they can't make do with that. That's more money than they've ever had before. Unbelievable.
  11. Congrats on the win. You have a nasty defense and obviously deserved the win. Hoping we can make it to the CCG and for both to end up in the playoff. We would have had to play a very clean game today to have had a chance. We did not.
  12. Little late. Marvel hasn't been a thing for a while now.
  13. Yeah, I think we all agree this isn't the place for a theological and church history debate, so I'll leave that alone. Just a couple of quick points: "By their fruits ye shall know them." If our church/faith is producing good fruits and blessing the lives of others that should be one of the most important measuring sticks. If you think what the LDS church is doing is to make more money, then you don't get this church. Just because we are good stewards with our financial resources, doesn't make us money-driven. No church leaders or members are getting rich off of the church. Because there are so many churches and pastors out there there that are like that tho, then some view all churches skeptically and I understand that, but we are nothing like this guy:
  14. Not wishcasting Utah anything. I don't want them in the CCG or playoff. I shared an observation that with that high of a ranking now, they are still in the mix. They do have a path or two, but they are not in control of their destiny. BYU could falter down the stretch (we did last year) and Tech, TCU, and Cinci are a gauntlet. But, I expect us to go 2-1 there (plus a win vs UCF), give Cinci its third loss, and end up in the CCG at 11-1. If we do that, then I think we are in the playoff win or lose.
  15. Good observations on Big 12. If BYU loses to Tech, BYU shouldn't drop below Utah. We both would have losses vs Tech and BYU beat Utah head to head. BYU would only have one loss versus Utah's two. Utah being so high right now could create some messiness.
  16. Has any NBA player made so much from contributing so little?
  17. BTW Utah is at 13 and they will probably win out. Could be problematic.
  18. This is obviously a big measuring stick for us, too. I realize the doubts about BYU have to do with a soft OOC schedule, some come-from-behind wins to middling programs, we aren't blowing teams out, and we have a freshman QB. Here's a few thoughts on that. We needed a soft early schedule and ramp up for our freshman QB who showed up after spring ball and has had to adjust to college, learn the playbook, etc. Every week he gets better, looks better, utilizes more of the playbooks, etc. He has become a very capable quarterback and passed every test so far, including not panicking and forcing stuff when we have gotten behind. He has been protecting the football very well so far (*knocks on wood*). He has become a very good QB in the meantime. I did hear something interesting from someone that might know, but I haven't heard this anywhere else. Bear might be slightly on the spectrum and he does not experience stress, nerves, or fear like other people do. Not sure if it's true, but the kid is one cool customer. Tech dominated Utah and BYU only won by 3, but that's a super-heated rivalry game. Weird stuff happens. BYU was pretty much in control most of the game and Utah got a very late TD when BYU was running a prevent defense. Also, Kalani's style is not to run up the score, but to slowly choke you out and just win with clock management and defense down the stretch. But Tech did look better against a common opponent. The close game with Colorado can partially be explained by: Bear's first road game, Colorado having that game circled after we punked them in the bowl game. They did stuff that we had not seen before. Once we adjusted, we came back and put Colorado away. We jumped out to a 14 point lead vs Arizona, but then we had a long lightning delay and the field was wet. Game dynamic changed after the delay. Iowa State had a bye week before our game and were desperate to win that one, so they threw everything at us. We took the shot and then clamped down on them going 31-3 in the second half. Our coaches have been very good with adjustments, so we seem to perform better in the second half. If we win, I will know we have a very good team that is capable of making a post-season run. Tech is the class of the conference until proven otherwise. I do think BYU is very capable of beating Tech tho. I can't wait for the game.
  19. wut? Big 12 is 6-1 vs the ACC this year.
  20. Where Dillingham ends up, I am particularly curious about. Maybe they are moreso than I am aware, but I am surprised that more contracts aren't more heavily incentive-based.
  21. Ticket prices for the upcoming game 🀯:
