  1. You get it. And I appreciate that we do control our destiny here. What irks us is that we are held to a different standard than others even tho we are in a power conference now.
  2. This one is for you @Hagbard Celine lol:
  3. You make some fair points, Stache.
  4. Yup. No one is giving us a chance. We've been doubted and underdogs in most games this year. We just secured our beloved coach. Our team is much healthier this time around. This team wants this rematch. Tech is a very good team and I think they will do some damage in the CFP, but don't be too surprised if BYU pulls the upset Saturday.
  5. Would not surprise me if true, especially because we are not desperate for donors.
  6. I think this is correct. And it would be some sweet karma for us to knock ND out of the playoffs. And even if BYU loses, but it's a close one, would they take BYU just to solve the ND/Miami/Texas Gordian Knot and it's easier to explain?
  7. And BYU played a P4 schedule, not a G5 one.
  8. The comments are glorious lol
  9. I am sure all of the assistants got big raises, too.
  10. Fake news. See my previous post.
  11. Liam doesn't know anything he isn't reading on the internet. The church does not pay for athletics (and does not need to). BYU athletics are self-funded (and in the black always) and coaches salaries are mostly/completely paid for with donor money. However, the Board of Trustees for BYU includes top leaders of the church. Any major deals and offers -- like a Kalani raise and extension and same for his staff -- require their approval. As anyone who tried to get season tickets for the AJ Dybantsa year for BYU hoops knows, there are a LOT of donors with big money behind BYU, most of it is behind the scenes. It's not just a few people like some schools.
  12. Not if he wants to getting freaky with the players' sisters and his wife is getting it on with the players or whatever else has been alleged.
  13. Probably not. It's the flagship program. Seems to be an unwritten rule, but other BYU sports have had non-LDS head coaches, so not unheard of. Would take a unique individual to be non-LDS and make the cut for HC of the football program.
  14. This is dumb. We are playing against a team from Texas in Texas and that team is playing in its first B12 championship game ever. Tech fans will of course outnumber us by a lot. We will have a good presence, though, all things considered.
  15. I actually do think BYU can beat Tech this Saturday and I'm putting my money where my mouth is by traveling to be there. We have a very good QB that is young but has gotten better every game. Our starting, NFL-bound RB was basically out at Tech (even though he played some snaps he was not healthy enough to play). I don't know if BYU is good enough to win it all. There are some very good teams out there. 12 teams get a shot. I think we have done enough and have a resume good enough to at least deserve that shot, even if we drop the CCG. Does the 5th best SEC team have a chance to win it all? Let's settle it on the field versus hypothetical eye tests. How often do the experts get the rankings and winners wrong? All. The. Time. My deal is that you are applying a standard to BYU that is not really being applied to anyone else. BYU is a P4 team, willing to compete in the NIL era, and with some NFL talent on the roster. We are 22-3 over the last two seasons in a P4 league. We are not the BYU of the independent or MWC eras.
  16. Haha. Texas has 3 losses and it required overtime to beat Kensucky. A&M is a total fraud and you exposed them (good job btw), so don't get too mighty off that win. Maybe tap the breaks on the bitch talk. I think Tech is capable of winning it all and I think BYU is one of the 12 best teams in the country that deserves a shot in the playoff. We have lost 3 games in two years. The playoff should not be the SEC Season 2 Electric Boogaloo. 4 teams from the SEC is more than enough. This is the age of NIL and talent is more spread around. Tech has one of the best defenses money can buy. The SEC does not have the talent advantage it use to have, but some people are looking at Tech and BYU with a pre-NIL lens and just assuming an SEC team is superior because it's in the SEC. Fake news. Also, by your logic, anyone who loses their conference title game should be out of the playoff. If they can't beat that opponent, then they don't deserve to be in. Only Ohio State or Indiana but not both? Only Alabama or Georgia? Is that how your logic works?
  17. Maybe we should have never scheduled Texas Tech and then we would be undefeated...
  18. See y'all in Arlington. I'll be there. 🫡
  19. Tech barely lost to a very good ASU team and Tech was w/o their starting QB. They are at full strength now and have a nasty defense. They will be trouble in the CFP.
