    Getting old sucks

To be honest, I never put real serious thought into it either. Both sets of my Great grandparents and grandparents lived well past 90. Evidently, Dad (84) is doing well also. I'll be 60 next Feb and have never spent a night in a hospital except maybe when I was spawned. If I remember, I'll ask dad today. We've already drew blood, urine samples, and EKGs on 2 separate occasions. Yesterday, the med staff asked again. Allergies to...? Nothing, I guess. Are you diabetic? No Have high BP? No Who's your Cardio Dr? No got What are your routine meds? No got They about fell out when I told 'em I'm not staying overnight. Dr. Jones is allowing me to go home once I get back conscious and he approves of my condition. Weirdly, enough my dad broke his left leg on Oct 18 last year. It's my left knee on the 16th. Apples don't fall from the tree, I guess.
  3. Exactly this. We have no timeline, so we can come and go or be fast or slow. Any kind of "dive", over night spot (haunted is cool w me, not the wife), or don't miss activity. Since Surly has so many folks scattered all over the state we should get some really good ideas. I'll be cooped up in the haus for a few weeks on the mend starting Friday. This will be like letting the dog off the leash on a crisp cool day. The first thing my wife thought of was Basecamp out in Terlingua. That would be an overnighter, so the next day we'll need a lunch somewhere. Another place I've heard good things about is Underwood's in Brownwood and also the Love Shack in Fort Worth. Sadler's in Jacksonville will most likely be part of the first leg, then turn back W or "NW-ish", then .... ? The peppered strip sounds like my wheelhouse BTW. Did you make or would recommend reservations? I'd venture to guess reservations for sure on the weekends, not so much Tuesday thru Friday.
  4. It is true my attention wasn't 100% on the game. We have plenty of distractions around right now. The interior of the haus is being painted, primary bathroom under a small renovation, and knee surgery tomorrow, So, we were putting together a plan for Wednesday "to do's" and the remainder of the week. I enjoy the bend but don't break defenses, but I get the fact that most folks like scoring. I did not keep up with the yellow flags, but it is football and beats a Hallmark movie any day of the week. CUSA games tonight, including a hapless Sam Houston team. Maybe they get a W tonight against UTEP.
  5. 15-14 Wolves win. Maybe next year, Jags.
  6. Good game in my book, I don't mind low scoring games especially if the game is not penalty ladened. Time for some nut cuttin'.
  7. Wolves knocking at the door.
  8. uh oh. this could be a problem. Defense better get the ball back.
  9. Jaguars are deep in the Red Wolves territory. 4 minutes in the 4th quarter, both teams have 3 TO's left.
  10. Red Wolves bust a long run got down inside the 10 and scored a TD on the next play. Jags 14 Wolves went for 2, settle the 12.
  11. 14-6 Ark St gets a FG early in the 4th.
  12. And....just like that Applewhite and crew get the TD. 14-3 3 quarter almost over.
  13. Jags are back on offense thanks to the INT. 3 quarter with 3 minutes to play.
  14. Jags stop 3 plays from inside the 5, then block the FG. 7-3 Jags 3rd quarter.
  15. Halftime in Mobile Jaguars 7 Red Wolves 3.
