  1. TBH, raw "coding" is like 10% of the time spent in a developer role. You spend SO MUCH TIME just working on requirements and alignment with the business and stakeholders, and even then once the code is written you have to go through integration with the existing system and framework. That's just not something that a dataset exists to train an LLM to do. If your job is just rawdog-ass coding, and you just throw it over a wall and don't own it after you push it... Then yeah that's pretty low-value to an organization. Put on your big boy devops pants and start owning the delivery of business value from the code you've written, and baby you've got a career goin'
  2. Channel 5 News doing some good boots on the ground reporting out of LA, this came across my feed. Crazy that they found the police blotter audio of them being watched
  3. yeah dude, and if you call it out they get BIG MAD. Pronghorn out front shoulda told ya.
  4. https://github.com/cline/cline check it out - it's a VScode plugin too. It's configurable to point to damn near any LLM provider - Bedrock, Gemini, OpenAI, local with ollama - and I've been able to have it just set up and run entire github repos on its own by saying "read the readme.md and follow the steps to set it up". Friggin thing makes the venv, installs the dependencies, and will even error-correct along the way if it hits unexpected problems. for being free and open source it's really sped up my own home hacking projects. I don't code much for my day job anymore, but it's been super helpful when I've had to author workshop content or bugfix a problem
  5. Andor really did come out at the right time. It's really REALLY fucking unfortunate how topical it's been. Ghorman has a ton of similarities with LA, right down to the demonization by the State and guns and goons getting brought in by the truckload with the intent to instigate a fight
  6. Have you tried using Cline + ollama at all for locally hosted coding assistants? In my experimentation it's been incredibly helpful for both code development and local system interactions like CLI commands and file manipulation. I've been suuuuuuper impressed with what a relatively small 12B parameter model has been capable of
  7. the trailer is fucking crazy, Mark Hamill as a bad guy is haunting
  8. Not saying it's the wrong thing to do - protect yourself! But that's 100000% what trumpco is hoping for. If shots are fired, the army is going to roll the fuck in there and who knows what is gonna happen then.
  9. @Your Mom care to comment?
  10. He completely bumblefucked a ton of media properties that were producing revenue, just so that he could get some extra tax breaks. He's the consummate finance asshole that finally got the nod to lead, and then fucked up all their long-term value chasing get-richer-quicker schemes. It's pretty impressive
  11. You seem like the kind of person that's more devoted to "order" than to "justice". Law and order exist for the purpose of justice. If the law stops working for justice, it becomes a dam that blocks the flow of social progress. You are actively part of the problem for as long as you just want everyone to behave and know their place. If you think what I'm saying is stupid, you should read the whole letter for yourself.
  12. well it's all the democracts fault, or something amirite @BurntOrange&White? They should be out there propagandizing and lying just as hard as the right!
  13. It's more that you're accepting the rules of engagement as the fascsists set them. You're surrendering the high ground of what is "correct", and ceding objective reality to accept their lies and propaganda. And yeah, doing shit like that is exactly what the fascists NEED to succeed in their goals. So, maybe try NOT mindlessly repeating their lies? Present hard facts and let them cry about about how reality is biased against them. Stop babying these fucking fascists. Stop doing their work for them.
  14. So like, when you watch a show like Andor, do you just cheer for the Empire because pErCePtIoN iS rEaLiTy? lmfao yeah there was no hardcore cop repression of the neonazi marches and protests about how "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US", because the fucking cops are IN those protests
  15. This is literally just the plot of the back half of Westworld
  16. Those damn Ghorman Front assholes are gonna ruin it for the rest of us!!! If they would just be peaceful the empire would just move on!!!! As already covered, what happens on the ground doesn't matter with respect to how the feds will act. That die is already cast. They've been moving in weapons and soldiers. You do the math.
  17. One step further, the police chief was literally giving a press conference about how the cops are there to help, as that criminal assault by the horse cops happened ku12mxgert5f1DASH_480.mp4
  18. Check out LA if you want another rewatch. It's still in the build up, not quite to the big massacre yet
  19. Hat tip to Ted Lange for snipping this, reposting here: What we're seeing now is just the prologue
  20. LA protesters chased ICE officers into their buildings and generally prevented them from doing a gestapo. No officers getting swarmed or anything, just lining up shoulder to shoulder and shouting "shame" at them
  21. honestly, the Jedi Survivor games are a ton of fun and some good Star Wars storytelling. Outlaws is a really well-realized open world environment and decently fun game. The early Vader comics are pretty great too, they fill in the shit storm that was waiting for Vader between ANH and ESB
  22. That doesn't quite map perfectly as far as the endgame - I don't see the military seizing control, but I see it being the tool used to seize control. But i'll be goddamned if the middle phase of that scenario - the economic downturn and currency devaluation, political paralysis, and social unrest - is pretty much a pitch-perfect description of our nation right now. Shit sure is fucked.
  23. The unit's name is "79th Infantry Combat Brigade". They are trained warriors. You send them places you want to kill people. There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people
