  1. I remember when JR Towles had eleventy thousand rbi in one game as a rookie. He didn't end up in Cooperstown like we all had him penciled in for.
  2. Nah. It would be Bama and whoever we lost to of aggy or Georgia.
  3. You could even throw OU in there at also 6-2 and we'd still go. Again, I don't think this is happening but if it did it would be a virtual certainty.
  4. Sort of wild that OU is our top team and it's all the way at 5. I think they suck and I said that before we beat them and I say that now again. We shall see. 8 of top 15 but 1 of top 5 is sort of wild. Michael Scott thank you GIF.
  5. We might. We probably won't. Again, I'm not saying we will. What I'm saying is if we did we would have as good an argument (better than absolutely most) as anyone in the country for the 11 seed.
  6. Cool. Computer has them as like 24th in the country. They've played the hardest schedule in college football and they will finish 6-6. That's a better "bad" loss than any other team would have as their worst or most inexcusable loss. And absolutely nobody would have wins of the qualty of OU, aggy and Vandy. It's a dumb argument to say Texas at 9-3 would have no shot. That's obviously a huge IF the way this team played 2 of the last 3 weeks.
  7. I mean- look at the resumes if we are both 9-3. Texas losses: @ OSU, @ Florida, @ Georgia. Not a bad loss on there. Wins: Ranked (all top 10 at the time): Aggy, OU, Vandy. Compared to USC: Losses- @ ILlinois, @ Notre Dame, @ Oregon Wins: Michigan, @ Nebraska, Iowa I mean- Texas is way better on all 3 on the comparissons. Better losses. Better wins. Higher ranked in the computers by a lot. I guess if you think the big 10 can get a 4th team in ahead of a 9-3 texas what you'd need to see is them finishing 10-2. The following teams could finish with 2 losses with parenthesis being hard games left: Northwestern (Nebraka, USC, Michigan, Illinois, MN) USC (Oregon, Nebraska, Iowa) Iowa: (MN, Oregon, @ UsC, @ Nebraska) Michigan (Ohio State.). MN: (Iowa, @ Oregon, Northwestern) Illinois: (at Washington, v Northwestern) We should probably root for Illinois to lose- even though I think we'd get in over them at 10-2- maybe not? Their best win would be by 2 against USC and they lost by 53 to indiania and our common opponent in Ohio state they lost by 18 points and got them at home) NEB: (northwestern, USC, at UCLA, PSU, Iowa). This ain't happening. They might finish 1-4 Washington (Illinois, @ UCLA, Oregon) Basically, root for Washington against Illinois but they are the only one with a legit likelihood to get to 10-2. Even still- that is pretty awful as far as schedule and just took 2 absolute buttfuckings by the only two teams with a pulse they played.
  8. Just depends on the rest of the country. I'd call it 51% shot at it. I can't imagine like- a 10-3 GaTech or big 12 loser going over a 9-3 texas regardless of how bad we've looked. Or what- a 9-3 Nebraska or USC? Nah. We go every time. Or- you going to take a 9-3 TN or LSU that we finished ahead of in the SEC standings? Also not likely.
  9. I think you need to see very major changes even if we win out or go 9-3 and make the playoffs as the 11 seed. Which is probably a better than 50% chance to happen if we got to 9-3. I'd still want major changes. Doesn't matter what the final record ends up imo.
  10. They went from winless to 8-4 or 9-3 or something like that and his shitty QB (Jake Locker I think) got taken in the top 10 in the draft, so, just fine? All the 1000 yard runners. I wasn't paying any attention to them at that time so know nothing beyond boxscore.
  11. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself gif.
  12. Why would you take 8-4 though? I'm not saying that we won't finish worse- but that's a fail for the season the same as 7-5 or 6-6 or 5-7. Point being, there's nothing good that comes from 8-4, and it's possible that 8-4 might lead to less soul search than some lesser record. No QB has gotten better. Arch seems to be much worse. It's bizarre. He's been good at the whole offense thing in the past.
  13. Agreed. With how inept we'd been on offense. Also- I was in favor of kicking on 1st down. When Mac 2 had phil dawson that was his plan in OT if the kick was to win.
  14. That would be a shock if they played well offensively at Georgia. Georgia's defense obviously has shown this year it can be had with decent offense, but yeah I expect us to lose a 2022 TCU type game to them. It also doesn't help that they might be the only special teams on our schedule I'd definitely take over ours. And, they are a little better on offense than I expected them to be. I doubt they score much on us unless we just actively fuck our defense over (which- we might) but it's likely they will do enough to get by on us if not break us- ala the SEC title game. 7-5 as proposed record isn't a hot take. Certainty that it's the ceiling for this team is dumb (many many have said that) b/c as you said we should go 2-3 or 3-2 and anyone who doesn't think we can beat aggy in austin to ruin their season doesn't understand the cosmic futility of aggy. I'm expecting to win that game but that's 6 weeks out- shit can change.
  15. You sure if I had the ability to search I wouldn't see 7-5 ceiling elsehwere in other threads from you on this? I would say that with about 95% certainty I've seen you say that multiple times, but if it wasn't you my appologies.
  16. I bet on Arch's shitty performance being an anomoly and first game jitters. It wasn't. When he plays well we can pretty much beat anyone in the country b/c the defense and special teams is really good as I said. Apparently it's not going to be a thing where he plays well often. Who knew? Your 7-5 take as a ceiling is still as wildly stuipid for this year as it was in 22 and 23 when you were trotting that nonsense out there. Might we go 7-5? or 5-7? Sure. But that's not the ceiling.
  17. It's a bit as it relates to this year. We are clearly a rampaging pride of fuck lions on defense, our special teams is likely national title good (not saying best in the nation but a really solid unit that would fit in as a plus with just about any national title team) but our offesne sucks shit through a straw and is, quite frankly, stunningly inept and embarassing. That doesn't mean this team can't bumblefuck it's way to 9 or 10 wins, but, yeah, it's pretty bleak for the year. Long term out on Sark? Not a chance. He's gotten us to back to back final 4's, recruiting well, managing well, has shown good offenses in the past, etc. This year you can say- new QB, decimated (and pretty untalented) RB room, brand new TE's, starting an entire new offensive line (outside of DJ), no game breaking WR and a QB that was supposed to be a force multiplier instead pretty much sucking. We are young in many places and where we aren't actually young we are inexperienced. So, thought it was going better but I guess we couldn't overcome it. If it looks like this again next year then I will be VERY concerned about the direction of the program. Or- put another way- which programs would you trade places with nationally (future looking) with zero reservations? For me that's Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, Domers. Shurg and say maybe yes, maybe no- Alabama. I'm not changing places with Miami or Tech or aggy or USC or Indiana or PSU or Ole Miss or TN. Florida if they nail the hire? Maybe. That's about the program and our resources as much as the head coach- but he's shown he can marshall those resources and do other big picture program stuff well. It's bizarre that it's his core competency that's held us back the last 3 or 4 years. I guess he needs his QB. The fact that that doesn't appear to be Arch is troubling- but I'm fine with wait and see for a year before being out.
  18. Slightly concerned with the finish to this season and the idea I may lose 1k to doc not concerned about the long term health or prospects for Sark and the program.
  19. Mine was after losing to the number 1 team in the country at their place in a game we completely outplayed them and the only reason for the loss was because our 5 star QB who has some really good game film played like a retard and it didn’t seem likely that would continue. new shit came to light and I got lambasted by CTJ for being too negative by the week 3 thread. The only thing I’m pushing back against now is the idea 7-5 is a ceiling for this team. I still think that’s dumb looking at the schedule, the cpu rankings and the Vegas lines.
  20. The Vegas lines care a lot about the models. We are pretty close to them either way. With Holyfield I’d be surprised if they were favored in Austin, but that line might bounce around a bit under a FG either way.
  21. Sure. I’m game planning out what 9-3 would look like not searing it will happen. after week 1 I said we’d go 11-1 or 10-2 and be favored in every game but Georgia. I’m sticking with favored in every game (so far that’s right) other than Georgia but that doesn’t mean they are going to play out that way.
  22. No bet. I think they sort of suck. And their schedule isn’t easy coming in. But, they get Ole Miss and LSU in Norman/ right? At Bama likely an auto loss. TN isn’t real good. They could go 9-3 or 10-2 if they get lucky. I’d bet on 8-4 or 7-5 as most likely, but who knows. for whatever reason teams still get credit for ā€œbesting a top 10 at the timeā€ team in some corners. put another way- Saharan has us rated 9th in his computer dork ratings. Our schedule: Buckeyes- 1 georgia- 6 aggy-7 OU- 13 vandy- 17 florida- 24 MSST- 47 kentucky- 53 arkansas-37 that would be 1-2 against top 5 teams, 3-0 against 6-20 and a loss to the 24 team and then 3 more wins over top 50 type teams that’s a top 10 team in the computers, a top 5 brand in the country, a TV draw etc it’s not a guarantee- but show me 11 resumes that’s would be better than that the main argument is- that won’t happen- bc we suck and will find ways to lose more than 1 more game- which- probably true but the team that played OU could absolutely go 4-1 against that schedule- probably the team that played Ohio state too Really good defense and special teams can win games
  23. You forgot OU. We would have won 3 top 10 games (at the time) teams (if Vandy beats Mizzou- root hard for that) and lost to the likely big 10 champs, sec champs and a talented Florida team by 1 score at their places. That resume sounds and looks on paper better than what you’ve seen on TV. That beats out a 10-2 Georgia tech team, or something like that. the big thing would be that team likely finishes third (in a tie) in the SEC with tie breaker over every other 2 loss team in there. That would carry weight I’d think. 9-3 bama with some fugly wins was a Clemson FG away from making it last year. And that was with 4 big 10 teams. There will only be 3 this year from the big 10 I would bet. Name me a 4th. I don’t think you can do it.
  24. Tell me what I said was wrong with any of that. I was doing an analysis on what 9-3 Texas chances were of making the playoffs bc someone else said it- not making any sort of prediction we’d go 9-3. but- my contention is that’s our most likely outcome: in order of likelihood I’d guess: 9-3 8-4 10-2 7-5 6-6 5-7.
  25. Agreed. That’s why I said better than 50% chance but not near certainty. If you were going to go 9-3 probably best to lose to Vandy and then finish the year winning at Georgia, Arkansas and aggy, point to the OU win and say- hey yall we best 3 top 10 teams and lost at #1 in preseason. No terrible losses. We need in. And you’d be on a bit of a run then if you did it that way. We really need Vandy to beat Mizzou in Nashville next week for 9-3 Texas to be a thing.
