  1. I guess we can debate wether Tommy Brockermyer was overrated, but he was an unquestioned bust. Thank You for not choosing Texas Tommy, that might have kept Herman around a little longer, and would have continued Texas' record of bringing in 5 stars that somehow never managed to play good football or make it to the NFL
  2. It wasn't really a joke, you don't sound like guys, not any I have ever met. They gave you guys the whole section over in the Cloak Room, you ruined it, there's no discussions going on over there, but it's yours - enjoy, just please keep this shit off the football board
  3. You get that from Joe Rogan? What a weird take. You guys (Can I call you that?) should keep all of this crap in the Cloak Room
  4. All you folks defending the modern NFl are full of crap. Coldplay makes a lot of money but their music is still garbage. And sorry dipshits, but I was born long after the boomer generation, I just started watching football real young. This site would be a lot more interesting if most of you were not afraid to post any opinion that hasn't been officially vetted by the mob on here. What do you have to lose?
  5. I know they are making more money than ever. It's stiil crap.
  6. People have been saying that the portal and NIL was going to ruin college football. I didn't see why that had to be the case. I get it now. I used to love the NFL, but free agency pretty much has ruined it. The team doesn't mean anything. I saw Harvey Martin interviewed one time. They asked him about throwing a funeral wreath in the Redskin's locker room one time after they kicked their asses. He said he can't believe the way players laugh and hug the other teams players after games. He said back then the teams hated each other. That was great football. The NFL has become almost unwatchable now. I still love college football but it's headed the same direction.
  7. I really appreciate the analysis Freud. Speaking of that, I have found that when people unnecessarily put stuff in parenthesis like "not a team player" they are often mentally unstable. It's not that I am a contrarian, it's that you are a cowardly automaton. I think it's pretty clear at this point in their development that MM is further along, and that is why Sark started him in two games. Now that he has this much game experience it is not even close. Quinn has been injured several times. If he goes down in the playoffs and Arch is thrown in the game, then Texas could be in real trouble. If that happens many people will be questioning this decision.
  8. There is an additional five day portal window in January for teams in the playoffs, so I think it is his choice to miss the playoffs. We have seen a lot of players skip meaningless bowl games. It was surreal to see Bijan and Roschon standing on the sidelines while we were getting beat down by Washington last year, but I can't really think of another athlete missing a playoff game. He's a great QB and has helped the team but this is poor form.
  9. Texas fans are understandably beaten down from 14 years of underachieving humiliation. However, teams come in cycles. This team is peaking with talent this year. They will be losing the QB, most of the receivers, and key pieces on defense to graduation and the NFL. There will likely never be another '05 team here or anywhere else. This is probably the most talent we will put togather for many years. At least internally, this team better be setting their sights pretty high.
  10. Everyone is trying to act like they understand these players opting out and doing what is in their best interests, whatever. For our best players to skip the game was selfish and having them standing there smiling on the sideline was ridiculous. Why were you there? To support the team? Bullshit. Get on with making your money, don't pretentiously stand around patting guys on the back like you give a shit, it's insulting, in fact it was kind of surreal. Let me tell you this since it appears no one around you is, skipping the game is not ok, the coaches and players will pretend it is, but of course it's not ok. 20 years ago none of those players would even acknoledge your presence, they would have told you to get the fuck off the feild. Hats off to the all the Washington players who finished out the season and actually did support their teamates. I always respected RJ and I think Bijan is amazing, but you guys have tarnished your record here and I predict you will regret this when you are old
  11. You have to know the back story there SDG, Futureman and fisting have a long history, I didn't just pull that out of my ass
  12. Futureman wants your fist up his ass, is that correct usage?
  13. Not downhearted, I lost the ability to muster any emotion for this team 7-8 years ago. When I saw that they didn't care then I couldn't either. But to answer your question, it is more what I am not hearing. We can hope amongst themselves that they are aware that the team disgraced themselves last year, and they are focusing on not doing that again. But all I am hearing is the neat NIL deals in the works, and what a great recruiting class is coming in. I imagine if Jimmy Johnson were the HC he would get pissed if he heard any of that talk. He would remind them regularly that they embarrased themselves last year, and the only thing they need to think about is redemption. I personaly don't care if they go 5-7 again as long as they play violent emotional football, every play, every week, they do that and everything else will work itself out.
