  1. What was this?
  2. As we gut out the final two weeks of flips, I still have the belief that if a player flips twice or more, then the odds of success for that player in the long term go down substantially. One flip is fine. Two or more is a red flag. I refuse to provide any data to backup my assertion.
  3. Ya that was my plan until exactly 14 days ago, when the election results demonstrated to all of us that the number of people being duped by disinformation is even bigger than most people estimated. I would bet that over half your friends and family, and certainly half my friends and family, are under the spell of disinformation. Are you really going to dump half your friends and family?
  4. So, here is what I've decided to do. I took the Jimmy Jazz recipe and "merged" it with an InstaPot chili recipe we've used in the past (with beans) that was decent. I'm adding some beans, but not a ton. I'm violating every rule of chili-making. I feel dirty. If folks want me to post the recipe and results next week, I will. Conversely, if you want me to not say another word again about this basterdized chili, I totally understand.
  5. Please address me in the future as "Mensa Dbeasy". Thank you.
  6. People all around me don’t understand how unqualified these nominations are. They just are not knowledgeable at all. People close to us. I’m losing my faith in the country and its people. This is crazy that disinformation is working as well as it is. I’m really down about this.
  7. How can I get a fact based review of rfk jr. I’ve obviously heard about his anti-vaccine stance, but I know nothing about the guy. I now have friends who are watching his videos and are all up in arms about how rfk jr has to go in and fix the fda, usda, etc. I just assumed he was a nut job and everyone half intelligent knew that.
  8. Look buddy, the last thing we need on this web site is someone who reads and digests another poster’s excellent argument, acquiesces, and responds reasonably. If you’re going to fit in around here, you need never, never budge from your opinion. Go down swinging no matter what evidence is presented. The motto of this website is ”Surly-where we die on every hill, regardless of facts.”
  9. Wow. There is definitely something wrong with this dude. To get fired less than two years into his contract is surprising.
  10. So I'll fix one pot of Jimmy Jazz recipe from the beginning of this thread, and the second pot from another chili with beans recipe I already have. For that one, it calls for a few tablespoons of chili powder. COuld I just substitute the rehydrated chilis discussed in this thread? At least I could give them something interesting. Any thoughts on best meat cuts?
  11. Who has my ten million dollar check? I knew it was easy money.
  12. There is no doubt a big chunk of that fan base has turned their attention to bball. And A&M has likely been spending every waking moment preparing for Texas, instead of Auburn.
  13. I have an impossible task, but I'll give it a shot and ask the experts here anyway. I need to make a pot of chili for family. Most of us are fine with a solid typical Texas chili. Except we have a few family members that really, really want beans in theirs. In addition, they can't handle much heat because they are older. Finally, just to top it off, any meat that is gristly would also be a problem, so I want to make sure I use the right meat(s) in it. Any thoughts on a recipe, where maybe some beans or additional heat could be added at the end to some of the bowls? I'm at a loss.
  14. How is it that three of four services rate him a four star but he’s a five star overall? That would imply there are very different views on the other top players in the country between the different services for him to squeeze into the five star space.
  15. This thread is brutal. Ewers definitely has shown limitations. At the same time, the staff believes they’ve got a pretty good team and they don’t want turnovers to turn a win into a loss. So they definitely emphasize with Ewers the importance of not turning over the ball too much. He might be a bit more cavalier with trying to fit the ball into spots otherwise.
  16. QB recruiting doesn’t really start until five days before signing day, stupid sip.
  17. An interesting scenario is A&M losing to Auburn and then beating Texas. A two loss Texas goes over A&M, even though A&M beat Texas late in the season? Aggies would scream burnt orange media conspiracy.
  18. You might want to visit the SEC championship scenario thread. The consensus view is that the winner of the Texas/A&M game is in and the loser is out, unless there are a bunch of unusual wins and losses inside and outside of the SEC. Assuming Texas gets by Kentucky, that A&M game is going to be epic.
  19. After a day of watching games, including several sec games, the wife made an interesting observation. Almost every time an sec head coach is interviewed down on the field, they make a reference to “sec football” . Sark did it as well as several other sec coaches. I think it’s a specific sec office request.
  20. I’m happy with the win but let’s not punch the sec title game ticket just yet. Aggies (or Kentucky) could beat us and replace us in that game, which would suck. Texas needs to figure out how to impose their will on other teams, instead of relying on precise execution to score all the time.
  21. I was about to say that they will absolutely pickup Russell, but then I’d forgotten that Bama had him, not SMU. What a ridiculous post by that Aggie.
  22. Sure, but they are the best dead last rated team in years!
  23. I made a similar comment during the game. He is ultra sensitive to throwing to fairly open receivers, with a few exceptions, like the TD throw to Golden. I think Sark is really trying to make sure he doesn’t become a turnover machine, so Ewers progresses to the second or third receiver quite a bit, rather than try to fit it in to the first option. Ewers reminds me some of Dak. When the protection is good and he has time and space to throw, he can find the open receivers in the progression. But when there’s pressure or he needs to move around in the pocket, sometimes he doesn’t handle it well.
  24. Ya I didn’t want to start a whole new thread for playoff qualification. The OP should update the title to reflect both imo.
  25. And second to second.
