  1. Teeeeedddd! Sean’s quitting again! but you gotta come hear this!
  2. it’s when you look at our conference kenpom numbers that you see why the eyeball test for Texas does not match up with a team that’s no.32 in kenpom and 26th/46th in AdjO/AdjD. the things that we are really bad at are some of the worst things to be really bad at. on offense we turn the ball over, we don’t get to the line, and we don’t rebound our own misses; on defense we give up a very high FG%, we give up lots of offensive rebounds, and we are atrocious at defending the three. our blemishes are really bad blemishes to have, and you can’t hide them. we have to hope for other teams to just have bad days in these areas, or for foul trouble to neutralize them. high floor + few blemishes = postseason success. we have a pretty low floor and lots of bad blemishes. we absolutely have to be clicking offensively and hitting from deep if we want to advance in either tournament.
  3. this is so great. i would pay for a new streaming service just to watch this shit 3-4x a week:
  4. we might have played like shit, but at least we didn’t spend the entire match flopping around like cunts (porto) or rewarding those flopping cunts for being floppy cunts (the officials). i pray that they all flop like that again in London only this time the officials never reward them for it.
  5. what it looks like when you reward one team for constantly flopping: 37 fouls called in the match. arsenal played like shit and probably deserved to lose 1-0, so this isn’t about that. it’s about unwatchable football due to ridiculous officiating.
  6. btw- we signed our absolute dream signing HC- an alumnus who pretty much immediately turned the program into a national power where it projected to remain for years going forward- only to then lose him almost as quickly as he showed up due to a domestic violence arrest, after which he immediately was hired to be the HC of one of our new conference rivals. the idea that we’re just supposed to act like he doesn’t exist and never talk about him again is insane. gatekeeping what people are allowed to talk about is lame enough as it is, but to constantly whine that people are still talking about that guy is a totally nonsensical exercise in futility. we’re gonna talk about him. a lot. come to grips with it.
  7. the ga t that other coaches done much better doesn’t say anything positive about RT, yet i’ve seen this argument countless times here. He Who Shall Not Be Named went to UALR and in his first year there he won more than anyone else had ever won there before; then he went to TTU and pretty much immediately took that program further than it had ever been- twice; then he came to Texas and within ~17 months of being hired had Texas at no.1 in kenpom for the first time ever; now he’s at ole miss and he’s once again winning at a level that the coaches who came before him couldn’t reach. that’s what really good coaches do.
  8. it should be noted that we were playing at porto, where yes, pepe is still flopping around and grabbing his face every time someone breathes on him. the number of fouls that porto were rewarded with for flopping was just aggravating to watch. any contact whatsoever and they just fall to the ground and get the foul call every time. just another example of the horseshit that test rewarded in soccer for no apparent reason.
  9. he’s been actively playing for KU since 1973.
  10. god these new informs couldn’t be any worse.
  11. did the fire alarm go off at 3am in our team hotel last night or what? that game was miserable, and the entire thing was just passes that were half a beat too strong, first touches that went flying, unforced mistakes and errors. porto didn’t do anything to hinder us, we just got in our way all game long. i don’t even know how to feel concerning the home fixture. on the one hand, we pretty much couldn’t have played worse and yet the game was ~30 seconds away from being a 0-0 draw. on the other hand:
  12. unfortunately it doesn’t go back any further. i’d love to have seen rafer alston’s team and numbers.
  13. they made the tourney (as a 14 seed) but i wouldn’t call them “good”. they beat one team inside the kenpom top 115, and they were actually better the next two seasons.
  14. yeah just like everyone needs 500 more of your whiny fucking posts about every single thing that i say or do. jesus christ dude, at least im talking about the subject at hand. ever since your, “i do my best to avoid derka” post you’ve ratcheted your obsession up like never before. you have literally neg repped 80% of my posts since then and you call me out like this on a daily basis. you are pathetic. everyone here wishes you would stop posting about me and calling me out every. single. goddam. day. you are pathetically obsessed with me. stop it.
  15. arsenal LB jakub kiwior just got football tackled in the box on a set piece and yet he was called for the foul, literally because it was arsenal taking the free kick. i don’t understand why everyone is just seemingly ok with the unspoken rule that says only the attacking team can commit a foul in the box off a corner or a set piece.
  16. beaides the fact that i think he’s a terrible hire, he’s 38 years old with no HC experience. in other words he’s not an analog for RT who has already proven himself to be a mediocre HC at a level below the one he’s currently at.
  17. if only jokic were likable and easy to root for.
