  1. For as much as Sark likes and supports Quinn, he definitely sees and believes in the limitations. If anything, Sark is trying to make Quinn not think AT ALL. We run a simple system for him, it's just decorated with a lot of pre-snap movement and misdirection. Quinn is not a good processor and has trouble staying calm in the pocket. Quinn's footwork has barely improved (if at all) in 3 years. The deep ball has been an issue for 3 years. Sark tries to scheme open first reads or just call straight up one read play designs. That's why he keeps going back to the slow developing throw back screen bullshit. Re-watch the Clemson game. Quinn was good but it was paint by numbers most of the day. And it didn't have to be any more than that when we are running the ball well. If Ewers has a successful career in the NFL as a starter, I will be happy. And extremely, extremely shocked.
  2. This is silly. Most people on here were posting on Texas message boards before Quinn was even born. I will say Quinn's career has been super interesting and very different from past Texas QBs. Reclassifying out of HS and not playing his Senior season. He commits and decommits (understandably) to Texas. Then he is our first big transfer player. Then he's the first to have NIL and make shit loads of money. His career arc is very different than any QB that played for Texas before him. I think it's undeniable to say Quinn transferring to Texas was the first major step back to relevance. Card and Thompson were JAGs, and Ewers' recruiting ranking/hype is exactly what was needed at the time. He immediately showed brilliance vs. Bama in 2022 before getting hurt. It's the flashes of excellence that make the amateurish WTF plays/decisions so frustrating. But that's all baked in at this point. It's also been a very weird year schedule-wise. Inaugural season in the SEC, but the reality is the schedule was strange and pretty weak, which is no fault of Ewers or anyone else. He was excellent vs. Michigan, though that was the first sign that Michigan was pretty sucky this year. UGA was the only great team we faced and we lost to them twice. We were so much better overall than the rest of opponents that Ewers didn't have the opportunity to lead a comeback, instead we end up looking underwhelming on offense by holding leads and running out the clock for most second halves. If we played a conference schedule like OU this year, Quinn would've had many more chances to prove (or disprove) his greatness vs. better competition. The injuries every year sure didn't help. We are in the endgame now with a real chance at a championship. Arch takes over next year. Life is good.
  3. Fuck JerryWorld. Have no desire to willingly play in that cursed stadium.
  4. At this point, I agree. Put Arch back in the box unless there is an injury or code red situation. Doubt we need him for ASU, and assuming we win, we want fully confident Quinn for the OSU or Oregon matchup.
  5. Crazy to think Uncle Richie taught @henrygandorf and I this craps method 25 years ago, and it's still being discussed/used by Texas fans. I love it.
  6. Quinn has overall been treated very well by the coaching staff, players, and fanbase. Whatever criticism there's been over the last 3 years is practically standard protocol for any blueblood QB.
  7. I've seen low around the ankles and needing to tackle high as well. The correct answer is you have to tackle him by the dick. Gotta skattebop that thing to get him to the turf.
  8. I'm gonna continue to call bullshit on this, for Quinn's sake at least. Nothing said here outside of BO&W calling him a pussy is much different than Joel Klatt, Gerry Hamilton, Cowherd, or any CFB talking head. Maybe some people are talking shit directly to him on his social media accounts, I don't know. Even if they did, welcome to social media. Deal with it. This is nothing like Simms. This thread is the same 3-4 Quinn bootlickers and 3-4 criticizers going back and forth. There is not some "movement" to bench QE or start Arch. You're completely fabricating that drama. Lastly, you're not helping Quinn at all by spreading this shit because if it's true that "he can't wait to put Texas behind him", that will tarnish his legacy more than anything he's done on the field.
  9. Huge plays by Jaydon Blue. I've been critical of him, but he stepped up big time. Hook'em!.
  10. I refuse to believe Quinn is affected by message board chatter. I think too highly of him.
  11. @Thatguy, making an insider comment about Quinn not being happy was certainly a choice. Either you're full of shit to garner support/sympathy for him on this thread, or you made a big mistake airing a grievance. Please clarify.
  12. I'm happy about the kickoff time. I think Sark is too. He mentions quite often they prefer early games in regards to game day preparation.
  13. Even though I have some issues with Sark's playcalling this game, there were 2 plays that I liked seeing. 3rd and 13 from around our own 40, we let Quinn go deep. Don't think it was the greatest throw, but the DB was compromised and ended with Defensive PI. 2nd and 10 from our own 1 or 2 (after the 4th and goal stop), Quinn throws a nice sideline fade route to Wingo in 1-on-1 coverage. Would have been an easy pitch and catch, DB mauled Wingo for PI. Big first down there.
  14. I just re-watched all the offensive series. Quinn was solid. As said, the one INT was not his fault. The other almost INT looked like miscommunication with Wingo, not sure who fucked up there. Our passing attack was pretty much paint by numbers. Lots of first read open guys, everyone executed well. The only time things got squirrelly were due to Sark's insistence to run a lot slow developing screens. Quinn did a great job getting off a screen pass to Helm before getting BLASTED. Great presence and scramble run for a 1st down on 3rd and 3. The deep ball to Golden was probably in the air too long, but that's just the way Quinn throws them at this point. But his placement was excellent, leading Golden correctly. My favorite play by Quinn was probably on the 3rd and 9 in our own territory with 5 minutes left. He didn't feel pressure and stayed patient before finding Blue on the sideline for a crucial 1st down that basically ended the game. I give Quinn an A- for this game, which was definitely set on Easy Mode. I see no reason not to feel very confident about him having success and playing well vs. Arizona State.
  15. Welcome, again. Happy to see an opposing fan that knows how to fuck around on this board. Haven't watched much ASU this year, outside of the end of the BYU game where I wanted to strangle your HC for how he handled the end of the game, lol (I bet on ASU). Who are players on ASU Defense to look out for?
  16. Sark in his post game said he was "kicking himself" a couple of times about decisions he made in the game. Babers in post-game was talking about Sark needing to improve as a playcaller. If you don't want to get in the weeds about this stuff, fine. But let the rest of us. We are Texas fans. This is what we do. For decades.
  17. The one where Wingo broke two tackles near the LOS and made a great individual play?
  18. Nico showed some guts out there, I guess, but his skills as a passer are...lacking.
  19. It's not Quinn's fault. Sark can't stop calling that shit, even though it rarely works these days. And Quinn got hit hard later in the game on another similar sluggish play call.
  20. Take it to the fucking Cloak Room. (You too, Quinn)
  21. You know, Norton, I've been watching you. And I know you've been watching me, Norton. You watch me! I know! Norton, my friend, how would you like to fuck Clemson up the ass? I know you wanna fuck them, Norton. And you know that I know, that you know that i know, that you wanna fuck'em. Now Clemson is gonna bend over, and when they do, start fucking.
  22. I know shit worked. But their were more individual playcalls and decisions that were questionable than normal. Going to the Gibson at FB formation once too often. The terrible 1st down throwback screen playcall (that hasn't worked for a while) that ended up with Wisner/CW getting hurt. Treating Arch Manning like Alex Orgi (enough, I'd rather not see him in the game at all if that's the strategy). Not taking the FG in 2nd quarter. Etc.
  23. We expected it, but the results are questionable, honestly. And probably not the best post-game to boast about his playcalling. The reality is our offense has been the wink link for most of the season.
  24. Don't think it helped we also hurried to the line and quick snapped it. Just unnecessary to try and catch Clemson off-guard there, particularly with the backup center and resulting bad exchange.
