  1. To be fair, he benched Ewers for three straight series in the 2nd quarter of the first UGA game. Even I thought it was a panic move at the time (would have preferred letting Ewers finish the 1st half and make QB decision at halftime), but he opened the door himself to all this bullshit. Sark did something out of character, which invites people to think he might do it again.
  2. Stopped reading right at this line: Expecting Manning to jump in and execute the offense seamlessly, in the College Football Playoff, is laughable. No one is expecting that. In fact, acknowledging that the offense is imperfect is why one would've liked to see more of Arch. The fact that the offense has to be executed "seamlessly" to score points in the problem.
  3. Agreed, our HC deserves a lot of the criticism here. It's interesting that when we initially hired Sark, even a doubter was thinking "well, our offense should be awesome'. Four years later, he is maybe the best off the field HC in the country. Program building, coaching staff hires, strength and conditioning, recruiting, player development, portal....chef's kiss. He's been phenomenal. I love Sark. But the one thing we expected to be dominant has been our weakness in a NC contending year. Hopefully we turn it on starting Saturday, but if our season ends with another offensive dud, I think Sark should consider restructuring some responsibilities off the field and on game day.
  4. I don't even care about limiting all turnovers with Quinn. Its the kind of INTS or almost picks that drive me crazy. If Quinn threw deep in 1-on-1 coverage and DB makes a great play and picks it off? Hat tip. Shit happens. At least it was an aggressive play on our part, and most likely the other teams doesn't have great field position after. It feels like Sark's mantra with our offense is "don't turn the ball over and we win". I prefer "go score 30+ every week and we win". I think Quinn would play better as well.
  5. My bad, I misread that part. I agree that RB room is significantly worse this year. Losing CJ was a real fucking bummer. I think Sark had big plans for him.
  6. Best OL and deepest WR room we've had under Sark. BS to say we've taken a "huge hit" in the WR room. Also, Matthew Golden has been a revelation for Texas this year. Put some fucking respect on his name. There is an argument that he's had the most consistent season by a WR in Sark's tenure so far. Your argument treats QB like it's just 1 of 11 positions on the field. It is much more than that. I think you know that, but just ignore it to carve out your position on Quinn and take it out on other players.
  7. Hilarious that a few of you just can't help shitting on other players in order to protect Quinn and pull out the "if everything else is perfect, we can win it all with Quinn" argument. We can do that with Cole Lourd as well.
  8. Based on the stuff linked here from Twitter over the last few weeks, are there any legitimate sports accounts on there anymore?
  9. Ian Boyd knows a lot more about football than me. I have liked reading his breakdowns in the past. But you don't need to be Kubrick to realize he shouldn't be on camera.
  10. Thank god Bobby started OTF. Take that away and Texas media is an absolute joke and completely unlistenable.
  11. Agreed. It has to be professional. But there is a clear opportunity for someone good at breaking down film to make a living out of this. Arch will bring a bunch of views from non-Texas fans.
  12. It's a corner of the Texas market that is missing and someone could make some nice money and build a career out of it. If we had a version of The Film Guy strictly for Texas football, it would get a ton of views. Especially with Arch the next 2-3 years.
  13. OTF is by far the best Texas YouTube channel. Not even close. Everyone is generally excited and happy to be on camera. I will say that Gerry is absolutely the MVP, and I probably wouldn't watch near as much if he wasn't involved. Wonder if next year they'd consider adding an Xs & Os guy to breakdown game film with their own segment/show. Or are they too close to the program to "risk" having a segment that could be critical of plays/players/coaches?
  14. I tried to watch a Horns247 show last night with Chip Brown and Eric Henry on YouTube. Oof. Don't know how they keep the lights on.
  15. I just looked up Quinn's longest TD plays of the season, and 4 out of the Top 5 came against FLA. 1. 50 yards to Wisner (throw back pass behind LOS) vs. FLA 2. 41 yards to Golden (short slant) vs. UGA 3. 34 yards to Bond (swing pass behind LOS) vs. FLA 4. 32 yards to Golden (deep pass) vs. FLA 5. 29 yards to Golden (fake swing pass, wide open downfield) vs. FLA
  16. My point is defenses are actually doing it vs. Texas. It's being done. On a pretty regular basis. We are turning the ball over, settling for FGs, and having trouble scoring TDs. The mission is being accomplished. We see it with our eyes, and the stats prove it as well. Unfortunately we don't capitalize on off-schedule plays very often, which can be a big part of offensive success if you just "take what the defense gives you" all game. It's not a strength for Quinn.
  17. They want to confuse him. Quinn doesn’t process well or quickly. Keep everything in front of them and tackle well. Force Texas into longer drives. Eliminate the big play, try to force FGs or turnovers. It’s not rocket science. And it’s clearly been working.
  18. Pate loves Texas. He picks us every week.
  19. That was a bad fumble, but in the middle of 15 straight minutes of assclown dumbfuckery by multiple Texas players. He's a true freshman. They make mistakes. He can only prove he can protect the ball if he gets the ball again. On the list of devastating or crucial turnovers committed by our players, his are way down the list.
  20. Arch touched the ball one time the following week vs. Georgia in OT, and it seems pretty clear Sark just wanted to get positive rushing yardage on 1st down and considered Arch the best option.
  21. We have only 3 legitimate options at RB. I like Wisner a lot. Don't think much of Blue as a ball carrier. Trying to create a physical and effective running attack almost strictly with Wisner seems foolish to me. He's a very solid RB, have liked him since Day 1 last year when he was a ST demon. He is not built to be a bellcow RB. Style wise, I think Wisner/Gibson can be an effective 1-2 punch. Our offense has been in neutral with struggles in the redzone for months (outside of the FLA game). It'd be nice to try something new.
