  1. I am 47 (will be 48 in January), and I look 10-15 years younger than I am (some 20 somethings last night thought I was there age, or at max 30 lol). I might be assertive, but I try to genuinely be a good person. I try to be nice to people, and if I see a Trumpy person in the wild (rare in Manhattan thank goodness), I just ignore them. I agree with @TwiceHorn, evil takes a toll, and we are seeing it real time with the entire Trump regime and a shitload of the Republicunts in Congress.
  2. When I get home and on a computer I'll let you know my thoughts. I think NYC is a great idea.
  3. I haven't seen any of them (though I had Maybe Happy Ending tickets twice...I blame work), but I would go with that.
  4. Martiny's on East 17th has outstanding cocktails and really good food. And you can never go wrong with Gramercy Tavern.
  5. Savannah Hernandez seems to be a massive piece of shit.
  6. Texas accepts this, the value of a Texas degree is nil.
  7. I have decided that after Madrid and before Venice, next September, I am going to spend time in Burgundy/Lyon. That will be a fun 10 or 11 days.
  8. I took Harvey for a nice long walk last night to look at Halloween decorations. 20251018_194501.mp4 20251018_195332.mp4 20251018_195352.mp4 20251018_195428.mp4
  9. Those people with all their NY gear are OBVIOUSLY either from Long Island or Staten Island. It sure would be a shame if someone found out who this guy was and let the world know. Feels like something that should be send to Tizzy Ent or one of those folks. Him and all his little friends. Fuck these people for being just complete assholes.
  10. The NYPD estimate on number of protesters is probably multiple times small. The crowd stretched from 14th back to 50th or even higher along 7th Avenue. I think the first no kings was 200k. I would put this one at more than that. 250k to 350k easily. It was more crowded than NYE in Times Square. It was very peaceful, and I saw young children as well as people in their 80's.
  11. My October has been an interesting one. I think a lot of the folks on here know that I am a big McQueen person, so last weekend was full of fashion events. On the 10th, had drinks and a late, light lunch at Goodman's bar in the Bergdorf Men's store, then after an event at McQueen (NY Flagship is on Madison at E 58th, which is so close to my house) went to Donahue's (old school steakhouse on Lexington) with a friend. Saturday, had another event at McQueen then went to dinner at Fasano Fifth Avenue with the brand, which was so much fun (lots of martinis and an absolutely excellent mushroom risotto). Wednesday was a friend's birthday, so we went to Hi Life for martinis and dinner, then tried to go to Scarlet with no reservations (it was full, and we were not waiting 45 mins), so went to The Gin Mill where we relived our college days in New Orleans ordering beers and rounds of shots. Sometimes, that is necessary. Friday, another friend and I went to Le Veau d'Or for dinner. As always, absolutely excellent, and they are starting to do more daily specials adding to the prix fix. I did some sort of veal brains starter that was absolutely excellent, and I am not one for brains. As always, their chicken and the duck and cherries were excellent. Afterwards, we went and saw the new Frankenstein at the Paris theater. GO SEE IT. I really enjoyed the movie. Yesterday, it was time to protest, so effectively, over the course of the morning/afternoon, I walked down 7th avenue from 57th to W 10th. I bought a few books, including Tim Curry's new biography and another biography on James Baldwin, and headed back uptown. Then I took Harvey for a nice walk to look at some of the Halloween decorations. Today, I am meeting up with my same friends from Wednesday, one is a Browns fan, so I assume it will be at a pub with football on. This week, I am going to dinner at Radio Kwara in Brooklyn (same chef as Department of Culture, and West African) before going to see LACRIMA at the BAM. Then on Thursday, I have some event at Printemps, so I am going to try and hit up one of the new restaurants on my to go to list, or revisit an old favorite in Crown Shy since I will be downtown. Too many choices. During the weekend, I have no idea what I am going to do, but a lot of times, I like to hit a bakery in the AM, try a new place for lunch, then make dinner at home. That way, I can do more casual and try more varied things. No plans for Halloween yet. Work has been pretty intense lately, so I am trying to not drink during the week (Wednesday night being an exception due to a birthday), but that is a good thing as it means I spend less.
  12. I have been to Semma a number of times. I am a fan. Tell me how Sushi Sho is. I have heard good things, but have yet to have made it by.
  13. I had a great meal at Le Servan back in 2022. I can see that it might not be for everyone, however. I was also underwhelmed with Septime when I went back in 2017, which is why I have never been back.
  14. Lot of choppers in the air, so will be a lot of good aerial footage. fadfbcd2ea5fd6d09e89c417721c0b36.mp4
  15. Great march from 47th to 14th down 7th Ave. The crowd was massive. 20251018_125346.mp4
  16. Saw this last night at the Paris theater on 58th next to Bergdorf. It was visually stunning, and while all the acting was great, both Mia Goth and Jacob Elordi put in stunning performances.
  17. I am about to head out to the Manhattan protest. Anyone else heading to Times Square?
  18. I am so ready for our Esso moment. These people are all traitors to their oaths of office, from Trump and his cabinet, to every Republicunt doing his bidding in Congress.
  19. Everyone should stop giving, stop supporting athletics when it comes out that they are doing this. Fuck anyone who bends the knee.
  20. Harrods is chaos. I love Liberty and Fortnum & Mason (F&M also can be chaos) and the arcades (Burlington, etc..) and Old Bond St.
  21. Anyone that is not a white, evangelical, straight man is fucked in this country if the Republicunts get their way. It is disgusting.
